One of my friend is having N7100 he updated it OTA to 4.4.2 nd3 bootloader and since then Whatsapp+ is not working on his phone.
I rooted his phone and flashed dn3v5 but still the problem remains. It always asks for verification of mobile number after installing Whatsapp+, but asks only to restore data when I reinstall playstore version. I tried backing up playstore version Whatsapp with titanium backup and tried to restore only data after installing Whatsapp+, but it always crashed his Whatsapp+. I even formatted his phones cache, dalvik cache, internal memory with twrp recovery, but the problem remains.
How do I rectify this problem, please help.
Thanks.

Phone is rooted and s off and has been for a long time running a custom ROM, I've installed this ROM many many times using the same zip and flashed cwm recovery. But now I want to return the phone to a fresh install with no user data I can't! It's probably me not doing something right but I'm sure it's not. When I wipe and install the ROM the old data and installed apps are still there! How can this be?
The phone boots and takes you through first start up pages: uk, google account, wifi etc but when getting to the phone it's how it was before I wiped!
Help?
Probably it syncs most of that data with your Google account.

That's the thing I haven't entered the google account
Try to format your sdcard all over again if you are using Ext partition. What recovery are u using anyway? Might as well reflash the recovery too.
via xda app
Wipe
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition+Darvik Cache) before you start with installing new ROM. Might help ...

One more issue with CWM recovery. Flash 4ext from here:
www.4ext.net
Thanks^. Yep New recovery worked
Some partitions weren't aligned.don't know how they can change one set?
Oh well sorted now
using CWM i wipe everything and then do a factory reset and it says complete and I try to flash different roms, (of course doing a factory reset between each one) but all of my data is there every time start it up. My gmail app has crashed on every rom and I can't get it to work even with my nandroid backup. ( all my installed apps are still there as well) what do I do to fix this so gmail will work again please?
I had problems with CWM also in that it was not wiping the phone properly. Installed TWRP and then no problems.

Go with TWRP.

Hello
last night I tried installing the carbon rom for my Note 2 N7100. (v1.8 Release stable build)
Everything wen't fine but I used titanium backup to backup my files and I also have a backup with CWM. I cleared all data/factory reset and wipe cache plus I installed the 4.2.2 gapps. The OS worked completely fine but when I used titanium backup to restore all apps and system data, It asks to restart which I did and when I restarted my phone the startup time took 25 minutes+ so I knew something wen't wrong. I rebooted into recovery and wiped cache and data reset again but I'm still having issues. I forgot to mention I tried using titanium backup and just restoring system data and not the apps.
I decided to do a restore completely using the CWM backup then I flashed 4.3 gapps to get it back up to date. However, when I tried to startup my phone, gapps isn't working properly and keeps popping up com.process.gapps or something like that has stopped. Usually this means the wrong version of gapps is installed but I've tried reflashing it incase I had a bad flash but that didn't work either.
I'm now using carbon rom without any of my previous system data or apps.
What can I do?
Thanks
Hi all, my S3 is on I747UCUEMJB and has CWM 6.0.4.7 flashed. I've tried to make a backup, both initiated through the ROM
Manager app and from recovery.
The issue I'm having, and I've had this issue multiple times, is that after restoring a backup (seemingly ANY backup), I get a TON of force closes making the phone unusable. I believe its the data partition doing it because I've done a factory reset and the phone works fine, but doing an advance restore of /data makes the force closes happen again.
I've been out of the S3 loop for a LONG time, is CWM still the backup of choice, or is it TWRP or Philz? Which version? I'm planning on flashing CM11 and/or upgrading to a stock 4.4.2 ROM or based ROM.
Are you doing a full wipe of the system, data, cache, and Dalvik before restoring?
Hello,
on my girlfriends S4 Mini all apps force close imidiately. She said it started one morning and didn't stop since then. I tried flashing a new nightly and fresh gapps, format cache/dalvik but it didn't help. I just could installeverything again but She needs backups of some apps (data) and sms. Unfortunately, Titanium Backup is not working either.
Does anyone know a way to fix the force close or how to backup appdata / sms without using apps?

I have solved the problem now:
-Made a Nandroid backup
-Wiped dalvik, cache, data, system
-Clean install
-Used Titanium Backup (Menu/Extract from Nandroid Backup) to restore sms and appdata (had to install the apps out of playstore first, then restore only data, not the app)
-Works.
