Hi guys,
just wondering what browsers you lot use.
Currently use Dolphin as its the only one I can find with a 'Home' button.
any other decent ones out there.
thanks.
I'm using chrome.. It's the best so far... It allows to syncronize all pages and bookmarks with my laptop! And it works perfectly smooth, i use it with 100+ opened pages! Plus, it allows to translate any page without opening Google Translate.... I recommend it!

Thanks for that, is there any way to add a home button to Chrome?
I use stock, which also syncs with desktop bookmarks fine. although on the M8 it's a little temperamental but it is the best browser in my book.
Dolphin works with flash, but aside from that is ok.
I don't like chrome as there is no way to control how a page looks, and it always messes up a page. Text is all over the place and the wrong sizes and it doesn't like to just autofit the page like the stock browser does, also it's pretty laggy.

Or install different browser - chrome is good
Or bit painful but make a backup with titanium and do a factory reset

Try to use search for "internet" in settings -application-all

I've always been a fan of Maxthon Android Web Browser but it was never my #1 because it wasn't "quite there". Well it looks like is now "there".
The list of all the things this browser does well is too long to go into here. But suffice it to say it is VERY fast, looks gorgeous and does an amazing job of organizing bookmarks and syncing them with the cloud. It also "preloads" links in the background like the stock browser does so when you click a link on an open page the new page opens instantly. Also going back to previous pages is very fast.
One thing this browser does that the stock browser doesn't is to "save your place" in your bookmarks when you go back to them. That way if you click on a bookmark 3 folders deep, it is still in that folder when you return as opposed to the stock browser which returns you to the top layer every time (annoying).
Anyway check it out in the Market (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=maxthon+browser). I prefer the layout and handling of the Maxthon Android Web Browser as opposed to the Maxthon HD For Tablets.
** I am in no way associated with Maxthon Browser or promoting them for my own benefit. I just think it's a great browser.

Am I missing something incredibly obvious or is there no way to import my Google bookmarks into Maxthon? Because it sure seems like there isn't unless I'm forced into using there browser on the desktop as well.
I have about 300 bookmarks...and no way am I recreating them manually.
I'm not sure because I'm not in front of my pc but I think you need to import them on your desktop then sync them from the cloud with your phone. Not hard.
Although I don't believe they will continuously sync in the future as of course Maxthon wants you to use Maxthon.

Yes, it is easy to import your Chrome bookmarks into Maxthon.
Just download the Maxthon Browser to your desktop and sign up for a Maxthon Passport which is like your free cloud account. Then open the browser and click on the menu looking button at the top right and then click on the star. That will open your Favorites Manager. Click on the 3 vertical dots at the top and select import/export bookmarks. Then select "import Chrome" and there you go.
Next you will need to sync your bookmarks with the cloud then sign in on your phone and sync them there.
Boom, Chrome bookmarks on Maxthon. Easy.

Thx much.
One very broken behavior is Maxthon handling of bottom of page text fields and onscreen keyboards...meaning other browsers like stock or Opera Mobile scroll the field above the keyboard area whereas Maxthon doesn't.

Dude, with favorites/tabs that synch amongst your devices, there is going to be uploads. It now has UUMail, which gives you your own server you name anything you want to create shadow mails to use for your real email addy! + not only makes webpages completely offline for viewing + snapshots you can extract pics/videos and modify them for use in other projects. I'm just on here trying to see what would be the best way to get users into this online community forum with the MX5 so people that have knowledge of android, and what apps can/need to do in the os enviroment can give them proper feedback to finish this product up. What their getting in feedback now is a joke!
i love the "single column view" feature of opera bcs it just make every website accurately fits the screen but it drains battery a lot...so pls tell me some good alternative to opera which has similar kind of feature.....
Dont know what feature that is, but the most popular browsers, are Dolphin HD and Google Chrome...

i have not tried these browsers so pls tell me do these browsers make the website page fitting to the screen automatically as the page opens?
Opera rocks, I still use it for daily browsing.
Although I do have Dolphin (for view websites with a desktop view), Chrome (Pretty fast) and latest Firefox, that is also awsome.
Anyway, for me, still the best is Opera, at least for daily use :cyclops:
So I just want the perfect browser. Here is what I'm looking for. I don't like how browsers I.e.. chrome has some words big some small. Htc one browser does his good. It also does a great job of fitting the words on the screen when you zoom. In fact it would be perfect if it didn't reload web pages and kept The active throughout day. I.e.. on aosp roms I can sign into a web site that actively updates throughout day and it stays alive. I can goto that tab and its still right where i left off. It seems as if the htc one browser constantly reloads tabs as opposed to just keeping them in memory. Is there a fix for this on htc one browser? Or a way to port a browser from aosp Rom or any suggestions that do a good job of this?

I use Opera browser. It saves tabs and shows them on the next opening of the app,, providing you don't back out of it and just hit the home button to exit.
On a side note has anyone else come from or have a windows phone because compared to IE11 on WP I find that both browsers are really slow.

Thanks. Does it save the "state" of the tab? Or will it reload the page automatically. That is the problem with stock is it automatically reloads the tabs. It doesn't keep the current state in memory

why at this stage of the game is there still no decent Android SMS app that will:
allow multiple thread deletes
forward via email
attach a vCard from within the app
direct dial
has an dynamically expanding composition box so that one doesn't need to scroll
simple theme and look.
There's plenty out there. Just a matter of finding the right one. OEMs are always trash. Personally I used Textra and never looked back since then
I use Textra.
Me too
