Updated yesterday to stock ICS with Odin3. I listen with a tape adapter in my car. No issues so far.
Hey Guys,
After I updated my phone to official JB, the sound quality got really bad. When I play a music you can't hear the bass properly and I can hear a cracking/hissing sound in between. This happens when my earphones are connected to the phone, I have tried many earphones (including iphone ones) but the problem still remains. Although the problem is not there when I am connecting my Bose mie2i earphones or Beats studio headphones.
Any suggestions?

Try with factory reset if you are not rooted or even rooted but not in recovery...be sure to save all your important things from the phone to your pc ...if it wouldn't help then download zero infinitys soundmod if you are rooted an flash this...you have to search it in Google or just flash renovate Rom it has the latest sound mod update...

Hi,
My nexus 7 2013 II have low volume and bad audio, only my? Or this is common problem?
(Sorry for bad English)
And the 4.4 update will fix it?
Mine is really loud...
Maybe you have an unplug speaker...
You should have sound from top and bottom... Do you have it?
Also, use mxplayer to boost the sound.

If your tab is rooted, use viper audio mod. Its available in the play store. My tablet becomes incredibly loud on literally the first notch of the volume bar.
My FLO's speakers are loud enough for personal use, but not too loud as to disturb a flight full of sleeping passengers. I have yet to find an equalizer or audio boosting app that actually works. I use viper4android, but the driver fails to install, even after doing smart install of busybox.
Hi all,
Music and videos only sound on my new Nexys through earphones. Other sounds like alarms and notifications do through speakers. I don't know if it is a hardware o a sofware issue.
Thanks in advance.
PS It's a wifi 32 rooted kitkat KRT16S

I have the same problem as well. Speaker just chooses not to play the multimedia sounds, but only the alarm and notification sounds through the speakers. My device is a 16Gb Wi-Fi model, stock, unrooted.
It seems that this problem emerged when I upgraded to 4.4.2. I sent it to tech support in the Czech Republic twice, through ASUS customer support, but they keep telling me there is no problem. However, I do not know why, the tablet both times returned with an earlier version of android. After I upgrade it to 4.4.2 from the notification I receive, multimedia sound from speaker plays fine for a couple of days, but stops after that.
Anybody have an update on this? I have subscribed to the thread to see if you guys know anything new!
