I have tested it with different carriers but problem is same. also tested another canvas 4 my friend have and found same issue. What I found also if I make speaker volume low during the call on canvas 4. caller get less echo. I think canvas 4 have extra sensitive mic. can you help me to reduce mic sensitivity using an app without rooting. Thanks

I found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185011 which shows how the Galaxy SII, the code works on the Galaxy Y Duos but the menu options are different and there is no option AUDIO, anyone know how to increase the microphone for incoming and outgoing calls?
People I talk to complain that the connection is down and I need to yell.

Its up to you. If you think its a software issue, Do a factory reset or even reinstall your ROM. Flash ur ARC and see, if you have the same issue, it would be a software issue. Feel free to visit your service centre then ..!
Good Luck..!
well with bootloader unlocked no waranty, hope it isnt a hardware problem :S
I reflashed the ROM with same results, Im thinking in doing a full resintall and also give CM10.1 a chance hehe
but before that I would like to know if there are other options, some kind of parameter that I can set or something that I can check, I never liked the idea of something not working just reinstall hehehe
Ok a lot of CM10/10.1 ROMs have been having this problem. Try lowering your volume during call and then raising it again.

Lowering the speaker volume you mean? and it will fix the problem of the other person not hearing me enough? Quite a funny solution hehehe
Didnt work for me?
Any more ideas?
There is a sound level control missing from standard sound settings of arc s,it is voice calls sound level. There are programs for sound control that give you access to this control where you can set it up seperatly from other sound levels. You may also lock the elevel so it will not change by sound level key.Try xperia ultimate HD mod v 4.4.It gives also seperate control on call voice.Hope that helps.

Yup, all the controlls were at full, but doesnt that controll (voice call) managa the volume of your speaker? my problem is the other person not hearing me, so I suppose is more of a microphone problem.

Look I had the same problem as your's and solved it by raising the voice call control to maximum.Do you see this control now and at which level it is.Supply a screen shoot if u can.By the way you can test your microphone by using a voice recorder program.

The volume level is good in hands free and bluetooth headset.
I have tried differnet solution and differnert volume booster apps but nothing works.
I have posted this problem on sony forums , but no solutions yet.
I hope my XDA friends can give some solution on it.

Some people have speaker problem, i have microphone issue, Sony is just making pathetic phones with cheap hardwares. secondary mic works flawslessly, like it even catches the sound from a meter distance, but primary mic i should yell at it, which makes phone call very difficult.
I have an xperia zr and I absolutely love it except for one thing : very low in call volume. I'm not sure if it's fixable. Unticking the speaker voice enhancement (I think this is the name) under call settings seemed to help a little but not by much.

you guys wont believe what i am about to say.
I bought my ZL just one week ago,(though i have a Neo V) . I was really sad about this whole "low call volume" thing.
then i saw the latest firmware update (am in India) today and updated few hours ago to 10.3.1.A.2.67, with the hope of having this call volume bug corrected.
i was not interested in the fancy lock-screen widget, transparent notification bar bla bla bla as i was happy with 4.1 JB. But i updated it only for the sake of fixing the call volume bug.
BUT to my disappointment i found the phone working fine just as promised...but call volume is still low!!!!!! even after a restart!!
frustrated i did something i read somewhere but cannot recall - i used a clean dry toothbrush and brushed the earphone grill!! yes you read it right...and guess what?? IT WORKED!! the volume is way higher than before ..though i request Sony to bring a update to fix this volume bug..but for time being it works for me....
PS - keep all those enhancement settings bla bla UNTICKED as said before.
and keep the earphone grill JUST below your ear-hole.
lol a toothbrush or vacuum can definitely solve this issue
if the incall volume still the same, that might be hardware problem though

I was facing this problem for a while. It turned out the case I had installed was covering the earpiece because the earpiece is at the very top. I cut out a small piece of the case and now its very loud.

The only way to adjust the incall settings increase volume is by pressing the volume up button whilst active and phoning someone, this is the only way to adjust the internal volume , sony shop eventually fixed this after 3 visits

Are you having no sound issue during normal calls?
Option 1. Yes, earpiece and loudspeaker don't work.
Option 2. Yes, earpiece works but loudspeaker don't work.
Option 3. Yes, earpiece don't work but loudspeaker works
Option 4. No such issue.
Lets see how many people are affected with no sound bug.
Option 4. No such issue.

Wow seems no1 s hving tbis issue. Seen a lot f ppl in other forums complaining f da bug.
I don't get that problem very often, but it happns often enough for me to notice.
When I call, other person can't listen to me. Only on phone, not on speaker.
Usually rebooting fixes it

hi,
i'm working in a noisy enviroment and my HTC 10 doesnt ring very loud, ive changed the values on mixer path (rx7&rx8) but volume is still the same. how can i get this HTC louder? I would appreciate any comments. many thanks. :good:
Hi there!
in several post in this page ( xda) and another like android central i have asked about this problem without solutions. When the phone rings only sounds in the bottom speaker, but not in the upper , and for this the sound ringer volume is so low and the poor quality ( don't think to place a mp3 song like a ringtone, it' ll be worst even) . When you are choosing a ringtone in the preview this sound in both speakers, when you receive a call with headphones connected sound in both speakers, but when you receive a call only sounds by the bottom speaker, i wrote to the HTC chat for to notify this without any solution yet
I have noticed the volume to be very poor on the 10
But as I've pointed this out for weeks, others apparently do not notice it as much as we do

I tried Viper4 Android. .... I think if properly installed and setup it helps
But re-installing it every time I flash is a pain
There are some mixer-path edits (in the system/etc folder that can help some. I just extracted LeeDroids version from that ROM and keep it on my SD card. They help too.... I may try to tweak even a little louder
