I bought a Z1c recently, and it came with the 14.2.A.1.114 build. I wanted to update to Kit Kat, but nor the PC companion, nor the OTA app and not even de SUS cam find the update, they all say my phone is fully updated.
Does anyone know the reason for this?
Does updating with the flashtool void warranty or anything of the sort?
Can I avoid flashing the userdata if I update with the flashtool to not wipe my memory?

No one has an answer?
Is your phone branded and what excacly ver have you? Write your model like for example d5503. You can always download firmware from xda and flash with flashtool its very simple
Do backup your internal memory to pc etc and firstly try flash without wipe. The worst thing that can be is bootloop. If your phone stuck on bootloop you need flash again firmware with full wipe. After that everything will be ok

I just updated my arc via PC companion software to .62 firmware.
I rooted it earlier by super one click method by DooMLorD from here.
Now after the update I don't have root access and I can't get it back by the same way or by GingerBreak and I can still see superuser icon.
The system apps are reaaally using too much memory.
Any idea how i can solve that please?!

using flash tool and a .42 FTF downgrade from .62 to .42 un check wipe cash and wipe user data and you save everything.
root using flashtool
do an OTA update to .62 and you remain root.
then and only then can you delete system apps you dont want. if you change the system aps befor the OTA update it will fail to update.

What needs to be done in the following ORDER
1 - Get yourself a firmware (whichever one you want) .42
1.1 - Connect your phone to your computer
2 - Using the application called Flashtool which be can be found on the forum (multiple threads) Flash the the rom. You will loose all your contacts, sms etc...
2.2 - Wait for the tool to tell you that it's done flashing
2.3 - Using ZergRush or Flashtool ROOT your phone.
3 - Start your phone and disconnect it from the PC
4 - Press the menu button and go to SETTINGS - ABOUT PHONE - SOFTWARE UPDATE
5 - This will verify and push the OTA for .62 to your phone.
That's pretty much it in the simplest way possible.

it`s not so easy
I did it exactly step by step,
phone shows information about upgrade but what i need is PC Companion to do that. This information is in notification about new firmware.
ok I did it but first I had flashed LT15i_4.0.2.A.0.58_Generic Global HK because only after that I could upgrade withouth PC Companion.
thx for advice.
Yeah that was point 1. Which was to get yourself a firmware version .42... then yeah you can update via OTA...
I can't update .42 OTA it is possible only when i flash .58 first...

I still have a small question about this.
Would I still be able to update OTA (from France) with .42 World or shall I use a .42 France ?

That's what I have done, and worked well.
Question: How can I update via OTA? Is there a site like wotanserver or something? Or is OTA an app I can download somewhere?
I updated my WT19 with PC Companion, it has .62 firmware now, but I need root to delete system apps and clear space on internal memory.
Anyway I always update via wotanserver, because I can't find the .ftf I need to flash it via flashtool. And now I'm having problems with wotanserver, so where can I find those firmware files (ftf) ?? (for my model)
Hi everyone,
I want to install CyanogenMod on my Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 but I have some questions.
1. Do you need to root your device first for CyanogenMod or does the installer from CyanogenMod do it for you? And if you need root does anyone know a good tutorial that is up to date.
2. Is it possible to return from CyanogenMod to the original software.
3. Can you still use the google play store when you root and use CyanogenMod?
4. I have the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 can anyone send a good website with the right version of CyanogenMod.
I hope someone can answer my questions .
1. Not required, CM is already rooted.
2. Yes, the easiest way is to make backup in CWM before installation.
3. Yes.
4. Check out topics in development forum.

no, easiest is to flash stock via odin, theres no telling whether preload apps are missing(or so..)
My bad, you're right about preload. But anyway, restoring backup can be easier and no PC required

Installing
Alright i'm going to use this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2555021. Do I need to 'flash' or 'unlock the bootloader' first or something?
I never do this before. And do I need ClockWorkRecoveyMod or something or can I do it with the normal recovery mod? Alright I understand that I need to do some things before is can install this rom. Can anyone tell me or sent a URL where I have to start.
No, our boot loader was never locked.
First your device has to be on jelly bean. So if your still on gingerbread, use odin to flash a jelly bean firmware(samsung-updates.com)
Then download temporary clockworkmod by shaaan. Download the cm11 rom and kitkat gapps(there are 4, pick any one) then transfer all 3 files to your phone's external sdcard. Once your device is on jellybean, boot to recovery. It should be recovery .(use volume buttons to go up and down, power to select
Choose apply )update from sdcard. Locate and select temporary clockworkmod zip (its named update.zip) then your device should boot into cwm 6.
Wipe data/cache and choose install zip.
Then install from sdcard.
Locate and select cm11 rom and gapps.
Flash both zips.(use vol keys to go up and down, home to select).
Then reboot to system. Done
Sorry its a little messy though

Thank you very much for this feedback! Do I need to change some settings in Odin before flashing? And where I need to select the jelly bean firmware in Odin?
No. Dont change any settings.
You have to select PDA, find and select the .md5 that was extracted from the firmware zip you downloaded

So I am new to Sony phones and just found about this Sony Companion app where you download it on you computer and you can get software updates. I saw on Youtube that someone used it to get KitKat without root. I am in the US and was wondering if anyone in the US got the KitKat update yet? I know a lot of people that are rooted got it, but was wondering if anyone without root got it in the US yet? Thanks, if so did you use Sony Companion or just waited?
I guess this might help you

Depends if you had Backup TA already or not (Or wanted to backup TA or not).
I used this method from zxz0O0, and I already backup TA in JB4.3 therefore I straight Unlock bootloader.

Hello, my display broke down. The whole phone works just nothing can be seen, the touch screen works. Before giving the guarantee I wanted to rip the data. Can someone make a movie, put the phone next to a ruler and connect it to a computer. Then select the data transfer mode. I will try to perform this operation blindly. Thank you in advance for your help.
