[Q] Stuck at flash screen after sense 6 toolbox soft reboot - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I wonder if anyone has the same issue. my phone is stuck in the HTC ONE splash screen after the soft reboot for sense 6 toolbox.
I cannot even power down or use the power + volume down fastboot access.
Any advice? I think this is a soft brick. But I cannot use the normal methods to resolve

try volume up+power down
when the screen turns off press vol down with the power button stil pushed
this will bring you back to the bootloader screen at least

Well if those didn't solve your problem what I did was let my M8 run out of battery and then plugged it into my computer holding power+volume down and that allowed me to get into the bootloader and then into fastboot. I then erased the cache and entered recovery where I had a backup ready.
I'm experiencing the same problem, and still working on solving it. But for those who are stuck in the boot screen and need to shut off their phone so that they can boot up into recovery (power + vol down), hold down BOTH volume buttons and the power button and the phone will shut off in a few seconds. I couldn't find this anywhere and was getting annoyed waiting for the juice to run out so I tried a few things and this worked.
edit: turns out it's just volume UP and power to 'battery pull' the phone, not both, although that will work because you're pushing on up

You can also try this if you're not willing to wait for the battery to drain. I also ran into that very same problem, being stuck on the htc splash screen.. However this is how I fixed it. Like one of the posters above i too held the volume button up while at the same time holding down the power button. My HTC One M8 would just reboot back to the splash screen. So, i went through all of the steps above again but this time as the screen went off still holding the power button down. I immediately slid my finger from volume up to down. I continued holding it in the volume down position until the boot loader come up. I selected recovery from there and did a cache wipe and restored a NAND backup. I hope this helps someone.
Found a pretty easy fix
It's a somewhat common problem as I can tell,w hen the device stops on the splash screen (where it says "POWERED by Android") ,, and it has a pretty easy fix, which does not require drain the battery or erase the cache from ADB and so on ! What you do is, you hold down Volume UP + Power Button and keep it pressed till the device will re-restart itself and will boot in to the system (unless you completely f-ed up your system).
Good luck
I have found a way

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power button until you see a black screen. As soon as you see it press the Volume Down key and the Power button at the same time. This should get you to your bootloader.

Bootloader Issue

I am having a problem with my phone. I installed CM 11 on it via TWRP 2.6.3 but for some reason the flash didn't workout well and the phone was stuck in the boot animation. The problem is now I am not able to access bootloader because of a faulty vol down button. Before it would work some time, but now have tried it several times but can't do any thing. It just recognizes the power button press and turns the phone on and it gets stuck in bootloader. How do I get in recover to solve this problem.
Any advice?

M8 brick after OTA? No Bootloader/fastboot!

Hi,
I was on open bootloader, S-On, TWRP and root. For the Stage fright update 4.19.161.13 (Vodafone) i reinstalled stock recovery and applied the OTA. It rebooted twice and gut stuck at One logo for an hour, so i shut it down by pressing Power + volume up. Now it doesn't boot. When i press Powe + Volume up then the One logo appears for a few seconds and then i get a black screen, but when i plug the one into my pc, the pc says mtp-device. Unfortunately i cant get into the Bootloader or Fastboot. Does anyone has advice for me? Thanks in advance.
Hold power and volume up and when the screen goes black you switch the volume to down. Keep the power button pressed at all times and hold these combos until you see the bootloader. Works flawlessly......if it doesn't it's your timing that's off
I'm on vodafone too and had the same problem.
Just follow MrHofs advise to get the screen back.
I have to restore from TWRP to get the phone running.
the update still comes up on my phone now but I'm not going to apply it until I now kow.
Thanks, it worked. The screen wasn't actually black, but on and just really dark gray. In a dark room I could see when it's reaaly off and the press Power + Volume down.
Try this....

Boot Loop Problem!

Hello,
A while back I attempted to root my HTC One and I installed CyanogenMod. I've been having a few issues with various things so I attempted to do a factory reset through the settings. I'm now stuck in a boot loop 'teamwin' flashing on the screen every few seconds. I can't turn the phone off and no keys do anything.
Any ideas on how I can resolve this?
Thanks!
Hold power and volume up until screen goes dark then quickly hold power and volume down. Then you can enter recovery and flash a rom or restore a backup.

If you get into Fastboot (white screen withe the options), you should be able to run the RUU with the phone connected to a computer, which will wipe the phone, but will also make it usable again, via the least technical way possible.
You should be able find the Correct RUU for your carrier or unlocked device from HTC's website here: http://www.htc.com/us/support/updates.aspx

RUU's are run via download mode, not from the bootloader menu, as you have described.

hi I have tried to ruu but as phones stuck in loop it wont charge over 30% sadly
Have you tried the volume down+Power Button method to get in recovery and reset to factory setting option? If you do this, all your data will be erased, just a fair warning. Hold volume down+Power button for 15-20 seconds, screen will go black and as soon as HTC logo appear, let the power button go while keeping the volume down pressed. Good luck!

I am having the same issue....You cannot get into recovery or download mode, it loops too. All you can do is to get into the bootloader.
