Insert into computer using a micro sd card adapter. Open my computer. Right click on the sd card and click format. in the window that comes up, under format, choose FAT32. Then press format. And you're done.

Hi!
I formatted my SD card to use with A2SD earlier today in GParted, but I forgot to format the rest of the card to FAT32. Now my SD card says ReadOnly and I can't find the card on my computer...
Should I use a card reader or what should I do?
Thanks alot in advance!
By computer, do you mean your Windows, or in gParted?
Hello I have a big problem hope somebody can help me.
I have a 16g micro sd card. RA Recovery 2.2,
this is what happened:
I rebooted the phone in to recovery wipe everything in order to install a new rom I had just downloaded, after I wiped I try to install from sd card and I got a message saying that the card could not be mounted.
So I plug the phone on the computer turned on the USB-MS toggle, when I click on the sd card on the computer it tells me that the card is not formatted and ask if I want to reformat the card, If I click yes it brings me to the other screen but it tells me that the card is only 30.6mb and the card is 16g? it only gives me to option in the file system FAT or exFAT.
Can somebody help I really don’t want to lose the card
ps i have windows xp and windows 7 , the phone is running miui rom
Where did you get the card?

I believe you will end up formatting SD card (FAT) but if you have anything that you want to keep you can move that to your PC. After you format card and phone recognise and accept it, you can try move your stuff from PC back to SD. Again that just my opinion and I may be wrong... Before anything, try to take card out > start phone > turn phone down > insert card again.

I believe you can do that with older windows (XP), but is it necessary to do it ? FAT was just an example what I give to you. Why don't you format your card with phone using standard system?

Did you ever solve this issue ?
I wanted to make 2 ext 4 partitons for CrystalPyramid v0.5 using gparted-live-0.9.0-6 so I did create ext4 1gb ext4 350mb and fat32 partiton with all other storige. But now it show up as if I had 1gb sd card. Why? Even booting in gparted live it shows that I have 1gb sd card?
You have to create the fat32 first and then the two ext partitions (all three primary).
And put the sd card in a card reader, not through the phone usb connection

Depends on the system one is using. Ubuntu often has problems with card readers.
Hello
I have a big problem with my sd card.
I recently formatted the entire card, of course I made a backup before and after formatting i return some files that i need..Card was never been physically outside the DHD and have no physical damage.
Problems began when i notice that my Adowloader download torrents again and again from start.the card became mounted read-only. I connect DHD on pc and formatted card thru windows in default.when i disconnect dhd from pc all my files are again on the card.I format the card through DHD and again files are there.I removed card from DHD and put it into a card reader on a PC and do the chek format files and fix errors, and again nothing ...
I dont want to buy new card right now ... any solution?
The card is Transcend 16Gb HC
Sorry for my bad english

Google for: "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition Setup" It's freeware. Put card into a reader, not phone-to-pc, start minitool, and look, if there are more than one partition and if it is FAT32!
Hope that will help!
You can also try the hp format tool from here http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197
It is much better than stock windows formatter.

Tried,,,but nothing...say that the sd is read only and dont give me any options.Thanx
How many files/folders do you have on the card?
Maybe too many AND very small size?
If not, then check a pc with linux and try to format with it...

thanks bro! however i already found a solution and i want it to share with you since i thinks its a lot easier. i format the sd card using the computer right click>format> i choose ntfs and quick format, it will fail. after that insert the sdcard on your phone and the phone will automatically detect that the sd card needs to be formatted. atfter that format it with the phone and thats it
