This seems like a handy utility

Just thought with all of the keyboard issues/limitations etc.. that this might come in handy
http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php
This utility extends functionality of hardware keys on Windows Mobile devices. It allows you to:
* intercept almost any standard button: application buttons, WM5 SoftKeys, Volume slider, Action and even Red/Green phone buttons
* distinguish up to 4 different keypress events on each button grabbed (single, double, triple and "long" keypresses).
* remap each of the keypress events to "virtual" application button or assign them directly to one of the wide set of built-in actions.
As a result you may "convert" volume slider to up/down arrows, assign several essential application buttons to these "SoftKey" buttons and even assign your favorit alternative dialer to red/green phone buttons.
Current list of built-in keypress actions
* Run Application
* Emulate keypress of many hardware buttons like Enter/Esc/up/down/left/right/red/green/WM5 softkeys/volume etc.
* Emulate standard application buttons
* "Virtual Application Button"
Being specified as keypress action, "Virtual button" appears in standard Start -> Settings -> Buttons setup dialog and may be assigned here.
* Close (terminate) active application
* Switch next application
* Alt+Tab (switch between two last applications)
* Task Manager with charge level / memory summary info. Task manager may be operated with directional pad (up/down - choose application, left/action - switch to, right - terminate) or finger/stylus.
You may apply filters to hide annoying applications (e.g. Phone)
* Ok/Close
* Start Menu
* Switch Display Off/On. Once you switch display OFF you may turn it back ON by the same keypress event or simply pressing Power On button.
* Increase, decrease or set backlight level to specified values or even use backlight dialog:
* Switch BlueTooth Off/On
* Switch WiFi Off/On
* Switch Vibration mode Off/On (WM5 only)
* Switch Phone module Off/On
* Switch Speakerphone mode Off/On
* Switch "Flashlight" Off/On (HTC devices only)
* Lock/unlock device (WM5 only)
* Turn Off PDA
* Soft-Reset PDA (Soft Reset)
* Screen rotation
* Go Online / Drop DialUp connections / Trigger Online
* Disable "Power Off device if not used..."
* Switch to Today screen
* Clipboard operations: Select All / Copy / Cut / Paste
* Memory Monitor
* Battery Monitor/Uptime Forecast. It will show battery voltage/current/temperature if corresponding sensors are available
* Current Date/Time
* Pop-up menu with important AEBPlus actions. This feature is available in activated version only
* Any built-in action may be initiated by shortcut calling aebplus.exe with corresponding command line parameter
Yeah, works great. I've been using this for a few months. I couldn't do without it now.

If you haven't used before, make sure when you modify key, to always set the single click to original function otherwise you might wish you did. First time, I mapped center button on dpad to something for double click, not realizing the single click function wasn't set anymore. Makes it a little hard to press enter(ok) without that. Had to find a workaround backdoor to get functionality back without a hard reset. And you can use for free, but you'll get an annoying popup occasionally, so if you like it, just put up the 7.99 to purchase. IMO, its money well spent.
Thanks, I just installed it, it rocks
Thanks for this man, it works perfect.
I also don't see a compatibility for the Excalibur but obviously that's not the case? Seems like a great re-mapping program.
i would jua google it.. by the way i like this program its real good
No problem running on my Dash
I an running this program on on my HTC s620 with WM5. All seems to work fine, except that I cannot seem to use the "Switch Vibration mode Off/On " function. Is there a way to have a shortcut to toggle between Silent/Meeting profiles and the Normal profile?
Thanks,
Guy

[APP]SVMPowerMgr 2.0 - Power comm. utility

Hello.
This is the "reloaded" of SVMPowerMgr 1.0.
With this app. You can:
- turn off the screen of Your device
- put the device in suspended mode
- soft reset the device
- turn off the device (HTC devs.).
- turn on/off wifi
- turn on/off phone module
- turn on/off bluetooth (make discoverable/invisible)
- switch phone bands Auto-2G-3G
You also can create 7 shortcuts to the program with parameters:
0 - turn off the screen of Your device
1 - put the device in suspended mode
2 - soft reset the device
3 - turn off the device(HTC devs.).
4 - turn on/off phone module
5 - turn on/off wifi
6 - turn on/off bluetooth
somethig like this
[simbols count]#"[path to program]SVM Power Mgr.exe" [parameter]?[path to icon file you want to use],-[icon index]
You can change the images of backrounds button separator and buttons, they will be located in "Images" folder after install. With one restriction: now the buttons are black, so if you change the back of main program, consider this ...
Remarks: To close the main window you must tap anywhere outside the buttons or in space between buttons. Also to close additional windows tap the Close button or empty space of window.
P.S.
On/off bluetooth works well on Microsoft and Broadcom stacks, but discoverable/invisible mode for bluetooth is working just on Microsoft stacks, on broadcom is to be developped
P.S.S.
Supported screen resolutions: QVGA (240x320), Square (240x240), SquareQVGA (320x320), VGA(480x640), Square VGA (480x480), WVGA (480x800)
Regards.
Seems really useful. Gonna try it with powerbutton long press
Looks promising....will give this a whirl...thx
hello and thaks. i am looking for something like this.
happy new year
Looks useful... Gonna try it.
Thanks for sharing.
Best regards
It looks awesome. Will give it atry on my phone.,..
Looks great, thank you very much!
It works but there is no icon on each button on my HD. Using stock ROM
Works great on my Diamond. The only thing that does not work is the 3G and 2G switch, which I assume is because I am on CDMA. Would it be possible to get the button to switch from Ev (3)G to 1x? Good work.

Hi,
I'll try to find a way for this.
Best regards.
Error
For my device it can do almost all it promises including turning off the gsm but turning it on or switching between 2G/3G does nothing except gives me a dialog box named "Warning!" that containins the sentence
"The Phone status can not be switched."
Also turning the gsm and 3G on/off with HTC comm manager works just fine but as soon the gsm gets turned off by svmpm the HTC one also looses control over the gsm module (including 3G switch). I love your tool but how to get over this case?
I've got a feeling that this app has one of the best forum-replies per downloads ratio. I mean people just use it and don't complain. So great app when mapped to a comfortable hardkey. My issue was rare, so download it!
Hello and thanks for the program. I have instaled in my HD and mapped to one of the home bottom button. I have an spasnish stock ROM 1.56 and the final button doesn´t work and I would want to link it to another application like mylight. How can I make this?
Thanks for this applicatin
Missing icons
The app functions correctly for me, but the icons are missing (the text for each button are present). Anyway to bring the icons back?
Thanks
MEG
HTC HD2

Dear Virtan, would you please give me an axample to create a shortcut please.
I think I don't know about [symbol count] and [parameter]?...
What should i write (i use resco explorer) when i want to create a shortcut, for suspend for example...
Thank You
EDIT :
It's okay...I found it..i just add number 1 after the shortcut.
For example :
"\Program Files\SVM Power Mgr\SVM Power Mgr.exe" 1
But Still don't know how to change the icon.
PS:
When i use this shortcut as a link to SPB Mobile Shell i found that everytime i wake up the device, the device starting with "something working" logo (circle that quartered and moving). This is not found when i use the SVM Power Mgr usual link (with menu). Any suggestion?

Tilt2 - How to Access 2nd Tab of Power Via Shortcut

I know there are plenty of apps out there to change brightness. But I want a simple shortcut to the native setting so I do not have to install anything else on my Tilt2. In the past I have always been able to create shortcuts that get me directly to the tab I want in any control panel setting. But I cannot accomplish this with the Power tabs on the Tilt 2.
There are various syntaxes that usually work. For example, to get to the 3rd tab in the Phone settings in order to change Bands, the target line in the shortcut reads:
\windows\ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,20,3 (the 3 at the end indicates the 3rd tab)
And this works on my Tilt 2.
And to get to the Power settings the target is:
\windows\ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,3
This opens up Power just fine. And the Backlight tab is the second tab. So I should just be able to add a 2 at the end like so:
\windows\ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,3,2
But it does not work. In fact I cannot get Power to open up to any of the other tabs (Backlight, Advanced, Information). I have tried the other syntaxes such as:
26#ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,3,2
ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,3,2
I can also get to the same Power window by calling mycpl.cpl instead of cplmain.cpl like so:
ctlpnl.exe mycpl.cpl,4
But as soon as I add the tab modifier at the end it fails to open.
Can someone much smarter than I figure out how to get the Power window to open up on the Backlight tab? Muchas gracias.

start manually

Hi all,
on top right side of my device(close to the battery symbol) is an Icon to change the volume of the phone: after clicking I can adjust the speaker volume as well as the phone volume. I can also choose between off, on and vibrate.
Since this hard to access by finger I want to start this manually in a different way, for example via Start > Programms.
But I dont know which executable it is - or in which way this item is started.
Can you please give me a hint ?
regards
Thomas
Use Mortscript and simulate screen tapping on accurate position on the speaker on the top bar. Before I use this method to access notifications from Manila softkey.

What does and does not work with GravityBox

I have the Verizon G4, and I have Xposed and GravityBox working successfully. However, I ran into a few issues that I want to share, as well as share what I can confirm works. As we all know, GravityBox has a big disclaimer that it is meant for AOSP or stock-based ROMs, and not for heavily skinned ROMs like what our G4 has.
Confirmed working:
Changes to the status bar (remove icons, change battery icon, add data monitor, etc.)
Enabling all rotations
Lockscreen modification to automatically unlock after successful PIN entry
Confirmed not working:
Media tweak to allow separate ringtone and notification volume (this simply doesn't make any changes to volume controls)
Go to dialer automatically when opening phone
If you want to add to this list, simple comment below and I will update the OP. Hopefully this will help others from making possible bootloop or freezing issues.
Not Working: Go to dialer automatically when opening phone. It still goes right to recent for me.
Sometimes Works: Skip tracks with volume keys when screen is off. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I enabled the quick unlock under lockscreen tweaks. Works for me..

Do you use a PIN or pattern?
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
EDIT: I tried it and it worked with a PIN. I believe the issue was I also checked the button to automatically prompt for the PIN entry as well.
Were you able to remove the sim icon with the question mark with Gravity when using your T-Mobile sim?
Is anybody using it with smart unlock? For some reason, with gravity box installed, smart unlock did not work for me. Messed with all lock screen settings to no avail, including trying to disable all
I've tried all the following tweaks:
Statusbar tweaks- all the signal cluster, battery, and clock settings work. Data traffic monitor works. Ongoing notification blocker works. Disable peek too.
Display tweaks- allow all rotations works.
Media tweaks- "volume keys skip track" works. Some people have reported intermittent function but it works flawlessly for me. More music volume steps works. Reorient volume keys works. Disabling safe headset media volume works. Volume panel timeout works.
Navigation keys actions- all these settings work. To edit the square icon you have to use the recent key option.
Miscellaneous tweaks- recent tasks RAM bar with adjustments works. Headset actions work. Enable screenshot delete works.
All ultimate notification control settings work.
I'm sure other tweaks work but I haven't tried them.
can anyone get quicksettings to work? i haven't used gravitybox before. it seems pretty great, but i cant get that to work, maybe it isnt compatible.
i really want a separate quick-settings vs notification panel like I had in my m8/viperone. the g4 is slick, but i can't stand the quicksettings/notifications screen.
Is there any way to have the data/LTE icon disappear when connected to WiFi?
Expandable volume panel
Enabling Gravity Box (5.3.4)-->Media tweaks-->Expandable volume panel doesn't work. In fact, it makes your volume panel not show what level your volume is set/changed to when you tap a volume button. This is on VS98613B, and also did it on VS98611A.
