Okay, a little background about my situation...
So my contract is coming to an end and I decided to flash a 4.4 based ROM. I didn't do enough research and although I successfully unlocked the bootloader, flashed a custom recovery and flashed the ROM...it wouldn't boot (which I now understand was caused by not having flashed the boot.img from within the ROM).
So anyways, I had wiped this/that/the other in order to try and resolve my above issue.
After much fiddling, I managed to get a Nandroid backup onto my phone (2.17 - restored and booted successfully). I then wanted to use an RUU to return the phone completely to stock. However, no matter what I do, I can't get the RUU to successfully install because my version-main is too new.
Firstly, is what I'm trying to do even possible? The reason why I want to be able to do this is so that if I ever decide to sell the phone on, that I can restore/reset it to as near to complete factory as possible.
Here's my FASTBOOT GETVAR ALL:

I should've known better than to attempt it without more research (didn't think HTC would make it harder to flash ROMs and then go back to stock...lesson learned)

No RUU for this main version you must to find stock nandroid backup
Yeah, go and grab from the nandroid backup post in general section the 3.16.110.4 backup. Flash the recovery that it's in the backup, flash the boot image, and the restore the nandroid.
Sent from my HTC One X
Okay guys thanks. Not quite what I was hoping to hear. :crying:
Just wish HTC would make it easier for people to customize and then go back to stock with an RUU...a bit like my old Desire where I was able to use an older RUU than the software version on my phone to go back to stock (can't remember the actual process I used).
I think I may ditch HTC when I get my upgrade.

Hello,
I want to get back to stock ROM for sending the phone to warranty.
A few lines about my problem....
A few months ago, I rooted the device. A few weeks after, it got the Airplane Mode issue. I kept looking over the internet for a solution ever since it happened. I installed a few custom ROMs to see if the problem persists and it did...it worked 1-2 days with no problem but after that the same issue showed up. As I had another ROM than the original one, I could not send it to warranty.
Now, I keep looking for the stock rom, I do not seem to find any Nandroid for 3.14.111.28, cid: T-MOB101.
I found a nandroid backup for 3.14.111.27 but it does show blank IMEI, IMEI SV and Baseband.
Anyway, I hope you guys can help me.
Thanks.

Hi all, first time posting here.
I've installed some custom roms whilst I've had this phone so I can follow instructions but I don't really know what I'm doing here. I was on a Sense custom rom and I was trying to revert back to stock and re-lock the bootloader. I looked through a million threads and ended up locking the bootloader - fine. Then I hit Factory Reset on the bootloader for some silly reason, now I am stuck in the bootloader and I can't seem to do anything. The battery is low now, I executed a script I found here through fastboot which seems to restart the phone repeatedly and charge it bit by bit, with the goal of running an RUU. This eventually gets just about high enough to do something if I'm quick.
I tried to run the 3.14.401.31 RUU I found from a source on xda, but it gives me "signature error [132]" after a couple of minutes when running this as admin. fastboot getvar version-main gives 3.14.401.600.
Basically I'm now completely stumped and I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some help? Happy to provide any more info if needed.
Thanks!

post the results of "fastboot getvar all" but delete the imei and serial number before you post it
And flash custom recovery (TWRP/CWM/...) once you get to the battery state where you can flash anything. Once you have custom recovery you can charge your HOX normally.
Code:
[I]fastboot[/I] flash recovery [I]recovery.img[/I]
(change fastboot to fastboot.exe if you're on Windows and change recovery.img to the name of your preferred recovery)
@jacobgaudoin I missed something in your first post sorry, you're version is too new for the ruu you are trying to use so you cannot do it with an ruu. you will have to get a stock nandroid and do it that way. look for your cid and version number here>>>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 best to get the version that exactly matches yours and then flash the boot.img from the nandroid and flash the stock recovery which you can get from further down the page, once you done all of the above you will receive OTA's from htc or your carrier that will bring you up to the latest official version available for your cid. oh you must do this with an unlocked bootloader and whichever custom recovery comes with the nandroid
Thanks for all the help guys. I've managed to get back into my recovery and can boot into the rom fine now! I'm now trying the nandroid route, tried downloading the 4.18.401.2 CID HTC__001 from the collections page. I have tried restoring this but it says system restore error. I want to try the other non TWRP backup but it won't seem to download. I will keep exploring...

I unlocked the hox with hasoon 2000 all in one kit... and put the xm kernel sense 188v4 and the Android Revolution HD 31.3 from mike1986
fastboot oem rebootRUU (i typ at first fastboot oem lock) ther come a blck screen with htc logo...
after this is nothing doing...
You need to flash the boot.img from the arhd rom.zip then install the rom in recovery, oh and as you have 1.72 bootloader you should first install philz touch recovery oot you touchscreen will not work
Press thanks if I helped you. Sent via XDA Premium 4
And dont flash xm 188 it's a sense 4 kernel. Not good in combo with a sense 5 rom.
And stop flashing firmwares, not needed !

thanks so much, i am downloading nandroid backup now. After I am done with nandroid backup do i need to install custom rom?
If you want to run a custom rom you don't have to install a nandroid backup ! Go straight for a custom one.....saves time
Hi. So I went back to stock a few days ago in the hopes of fixing a dead zone in the middle of my screen(found out it was a hardware issue after some digging in the forums)and the only backup I found for my One X came with Android 4.0.4 and the old Sense. Everything works fine, except the fact that I can neither install custom ROMs nor receive OTAs to at least get Sense 5. I tried installing both M9 and M7 versions of CM11 (was running M7 perfectly fine before i needed to revert to stock), however the installation aborts in both cases. I got the nandroid backup from the original thread on the forums(CID is HTC__032). Would really appreciate if someone could help me out.

Lock your bootloader fastboot oem lock Download THIS RUU and run it as administrator fallow the instruction and when firnish you will be complete stock rom then check for update and apply all update to latest JB rom via official update
Alright, I've been running back and forth between pages and making this phone worse and worse.
- Prologue -
I started with a beautiful AT&T version. Since the sellers never gave me the unlock code, I decided to do it the "fun" way.
I S-OFFed via Sunshine out of desperation to unlock properties within.
First Sense seemed limited, so I looked up how to put GPU and did it via RUU
Yay, I pop SIM card and witnessed in horror as the SIM refused to be connected to MetroPCS
I looked up the SuperCID, did the thing, then.... nothing.
Then I did Sieempi's little trick and, to my added disgust, the SIM refused to cooperate.
- Actual Story -
Then I tried to flash back to stock Sense ROM to see if Sense could do anything about it.
Gettin' ready to flash via TWRP, let's flash this ROM, "Error Flashing _____"
I throw a random radio in to flash, fails as well.
Try DH's Beyond Stock Kernel. It also failed, maybe 'cause it was a Kernel.
Then tried to put back the Splash Sense .... thing, wiped out TWRP.
Also saw a thread that said I should also lock bootloader... BIG MISTAKE!!!
Now bootloader is "Relocked" and can't access TWRP, can't unlock bootloader via "WinDroid" (Used this in addition to cmd for the entire time)..... yeah...

OK well your still S-OFF so if your phone don't boot than pull out the sdcard and put it in another device or a card reader so you can ruu using the 0P6BIMG.zip method .now keep in mind if you converted to GPE than I would stick with it just to have a booted phone.
Sim unlock method and read the thread .
