[Q] Root STILL being detected? - Paranoid Android Q&A

Hello all, I am trying to play a game (School Idol) which has a root checker and I have tried using RootCloak Plus and simply just disabling the root on SuperSu but nothing has worked. I am using an HTC one m8 and have recently just S-Offed my device. Could S-off be detected and be the reason why I still cannot play this game? Thanks, any help or ideas are appreciated.

I got School Idol to work on my Galaxy Note 2 and HP Touchpad by using Rootcloak Plus. Make sure that in Cydia Substrate you selected "Link substrate files" and your phone rebooted properly. The only other thing you could try is flashing a different rom.

Prestigio MultiPad 4 Quantum 9.7 root

Hi everyone,
i received my prestigio mpm5297C quad yesterday and I'm trying to root it but without any success. I tried several methods out there on google but none of them work. I would like to root it so that I can clean it from bloatware that is installed. Any suggestions on how to root it?? How is this done manually??
Thanks

I found out a way to root it. By mistake I opened two threads for the same topic (dumb XDA-developers android app)...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509098
Thanks anyway.

Hello there, I know this thread isn't about PMP5785C but there is virtually no information about this tablet on XDA. Did you root PMP5785C yourself with Kingo Android Root? If so, could you please help me because I seem not to be able to do it. After I connect the tablet to my computer Windows keep asking me for drivers and Kingo is stuck on connecting, which fails in the end.
I tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509098 but that didn't work, too.
Any help very much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Help - rooting latest firmware (Never rooted before)

As the title suggests
I've just bought an OUYA and I stupidly updated it to the latest firmware and now that I want to root the thing it appears from a significant amount of "googling" that this is not currently possible.
Can anyone confirm if im stuck or if this is still possible to do could someone please point me in the direction of a guide?
I've tried installing RootMyOuya.1.1.apk and it refuses to install
thanks
Find "towelroot-v2.apk" not v3 or later. still working! I tried today.

Ur the best man!! Will play around with this after ive finished installing xp on my laptop, you think it might work better?
I can't remember what site it was but last night I came across a post about people trying to root the ouya with newest firmware. It took a little time( install time) but it was pretty easy. First download and install the android SDK( it takes awhile but I couldn't find the ouya ABD interface drivers anywhere else) and then download and install kingo. It rooted my ouya no problem. And that you need the exposed installed. Don't get the latest version. The newest is ***********v32.zip I think. You want v29.zip and of course you'll need ps4ouya.zip as well. If you use the v32.zip the play store won't work. I think that should help a lot of people. I know this isn't the clearest explanation but I don't clams to be an expert lol

Does NOT work. Also caught a security threat in VZ Protect, Wants too many permissions to the phone as well. Would prefer a XDA-Dev trusted method.

I have the Verizon HTC Desire 526. This method does not work on it. Are you it's the same model of this phone that you rooted?
I have european version with only 1 gb ram and 4.4 android.
I didnt think of it earlier, sorry bro.
HTC desire 526 has no root as of now. if your on version 5.1 there are other threads about it. as alot dont work. verizon specifically locks these phones to for 6-12months. how to unlock them after. no clue. but im also still waiting on root access for these phones
Rooted within 3 mins

Possibility of Xposed Working?

Hello, first of all I've never owned a HTC phone and so I hope nobody minds me posting a speculative question. Based on previous HTC phones, is it likely that Xposed and Gravity Box will work with the HTC 10? The reason I ask is I own some very sensitive earphones and so need the feature in Gravity Box to increase the volume steps to 50? Othewise being restricted to the normal 15 steps is quite punishing for my ears. Thanks.
The HTC 10 unlocked version will support bootloader unlocking so Xsposed will definitely be able to be installed. The HTC 10 sprint version should as well, sprint has never disabled the ability to use HTC Dev to unlock the bootloader. Verizon is another story. They block HTC Dev and we don't know if the unlocked version will work on Verizon that is still TBD. It should but i would never leave anything Verizon has a finger in up to chance. Another possibility might be like the Verizon M9 that people were able to unlock using a java card. Only time will tell for verizon but if you have another carrier I would not worry.
The phone needs to be rooted to install xposed. In addition to the other stuff needed, unlocked bootloader...and highly recommend s-off when that happens. Foolish to not S-Off a phone and start messing with it. Brick city.
Yes. Xposed is MM compatible.
Haven't heard yet if they'll update Sense Toolbox for 8 (Mikanoshi doesn't think he'll get access to a sense 8 dev device) and mods are a case by case basis for compatibility. Give it time and eventually most of the popular mods will get updated.

xposed would be no problem at all.. You would use the sense toolbox though instead of gravity box. Although now that sense is so stripped down, I suppose some things would also work from gravity box.
Hey guys
I've google searched this quite a bit, but I'm having an issue installing xposed to the HTC10.
I go into Recovery (using TWRP) and try to install the XposedFramework .zip file, but I keep getting : Failed to mount "/system"
Any ideas how to fix this and get Xposed installed ?

yes, works perfect, make sure you get the DVDandroid version xposed installer that you have to use with it. Gravitybox works quite well with the HTC10, xposed settings in playstore is also updated to work, as well as XinternalSD, which will allow programs to write to the internal SD. hope that helps

Looking to root my Verizon HTC 10 to disable their stupid "Connected to WiFi" notifications (which perplexingly isn't an option to disable like on some of their other phones), but I'm not clear if this is possible yet... has anyone here successfully gotten it to work? The link in a previous comment is dead. I'm so frustrated with Verizon, soldering FM radios dead wasn't enough?

You can only root your verizon 10 by doing s-off first using Sunshine ($25). Might not be able to anymore after the Nougat update comes out.

Maybe the Nougat update will fix all the Verizon HTC 10 crap... now Verizon and HTC are blaming each other for issues I'm bringing up to them.

HTC Desire 520 (Cricket)

Hello,
I was just wondering if it's rootable. I cannot find any reliable information regarding this. I just unlocked one and began using it. I would like to remove many of the system apps that are cricket based.
Thank You
Bootloader is unlockable, go to HTCdev.com or Google "unlock HTC desire 520 bootloader"
Also, I'd check that option to allow OEM bootloader unlock in your developer settings..., I'm gonna run it through the Gamut though, (kingo iroot farmaroot kingroot etc...) see if any works. Decent phone, just a lot of bulk with it

I tried to use the Iroot For Windows and couldn't get the HTC Desire 520 to root.
I was able to actually get the HTC Desire 520 to work with the iroot apk sideloaded and setup after setting the adb program in kinguser app.
Check online on YT for my video "How To Root HTC Desire 520"
