Hello,
few days ago I've bought a Huawei Ascend P6, had rooted & updated it to 4.4. As i've tried out the functionality, i noticed the safe boot option and tried it out. (I was curios, because i don't knew this before.)
So, some seconds after the GUI is visible, the system shutdown. Sometimes it starts in the Lockscreen, sometimes in the Homescreen, mostly all of the reboots, the GUI is reloading.
Vibrations are working, but the touchscreen doesn't. As a result of the unremovable battery, i cant enforce a full normal shutdown.
Unfortunately. I haven't made a backup of the internal storage, so i would prefer a fix or a way i could backup the internal storage, before reinstalling.
Some advice, how i can fix that? I would be deeply grateful for some tips.
EDIT: After battery clearing & "normal" boot, same again.

in manage applications all apps are stuck at "computing" and will of stop. It used to be fixed by restoring my phone to an earlier date but now it just doesn't work.
Apps2sd, disk usage, and unmounting the SD card do not work. Force closing.
In the market I cannot install or uninstall apps.
And when I restart ill lose access to the apps on my SD card. But I can access all info using a task manager or taking the card out and accessing it from my pc.
Is my internal memory failing?
I don't know what else to do Ive tried so much.
Restore backup factory reset SD card format etc.
Froyo 2.2 stock rooted.
Any ideas?,I'm desperate.
Thank you.
Wipe completely and try a different ROM like CM6. If you're still getting the same problem, then it's a hardware issue and you're hosed. Run the RUU at that point, and take it in to get a replacement, and hope for the best.
How long do you give it? If you have a lot of apps, it might just take a lot longer than your are expecting, since it has to load the data for everything. I'd recommend just giving it a little more time (unless you already do). Before Froyo, even with just a handful of apps it seriously took around 3 minutes to load that kind of information.
I've given it up to 45 minutes at times, several times after a recovery it would all fully finish computing, then after i install an app or something to that effect it seems it 'breaks' again.
I tried other ROMs and after the first few apps i begin to reinstall it does it again. So i took a break, recovered it and went to bed. This morning it seems to be doing fine and now i'm reading there were market issues with other people last night, could this be connected? Is the market that integrated into the phone that it could cause issues like this?
i'm emailing HTC for some advice because i can't find a specific google/android technical support email address about the issue.
ii'm in the same boat.all my apps are stuck on computing. i cant even unistall, or move apps. the only positive is that i can still run all my apps. but i cant install anything new as it stays stuck on installing and never installs the app. this seems like a problem with froyo.
Mine does this ever since I installed modInstallLocation, and moved a ton of stuff over to the SD card. If I ever have to reboot for some reason, or if I have to use the phone as a USB device, most of the time the apps never recover. Sometimes (rarely) a reboot fixes it, but most of the time I have to pull the battery, pull the card, reboot several times before it will finally get all my apps back. It seems completely random. I can't uninstall or install anything either until everything is back to normal. It happened again last night, and I still haven't gotten it to recover. I let the thing "compute" all night (7 hours) with no luck.
btw, this is my second sd card, so I don't think its bad.
UPDATE: I got them all back! I wiped the Dalvik cache from within Clockwork Mod, and about 4-5 minutes after I rebooted, there they were!!!
I followed the instructions to install supernova up to the point where you have to go in recovery and run Data2sdInstaller.zip. Pressing volume down + power button all of a sudden doesn’t work and just starts the phone normally. What happened and what do I do?
Also when I go to the SD & Phone Settings it says available internal storage only 34.7MB even though the total space of the sd card has been decreased by 1gb (I made the ext4 partition 1gb). Is this related to the previous problem?
Finally I am noticing that even though I click power off, the phone stars instantly once I press the power button again as if it was hibernating but NOT actually being turned off. Is this normal? Is there a way to change this so the phone actually shuts down?
Thanks
Uncheck fastboot. It's found under one of the options on settings. Just look for it. That will probably solve both issues you are having with having trouble accessing recovery and not shutting down completely.
About the space issue or something you are talking about, you have to flash that data2installer zip to make use of the partition you created.
Thank you very much. It finally worked 1000MB for apps now but a little slow. I guess I need a faster sd card than the one that came with the phone.
Another question. I used titanium to backup my apps, but now the market crashes everytime I need to run it.
Code:
The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly
I googled it and found out people are saying you should change the language to English (US) which I have but it still crashes. What do I do?
I usually use Titanium to only restore my downloaded apps and never system apps. If I really have to restore system app, I usually restore just the data part. I never had issues with the Market that came with the rom although I believe it's still the old one?
Hi,
I just recently rescued this cellphone which I believe had Darkside 3v7 rom on it. After flashing a couple of factory roms thru odin, i could finally get thru to the OS itself, not without a hassle of force closes. I already wiped everything in the factory recovery. MY first problem was just a black screen after boot with all the capacitive buttons lit, but you could use the upper menu bar (as in mounting the internal / external SD, etc.) I got past that now.
Right now I don't have an IMEI recognized, and i cannot open the market due to force close errors. I was going to use HC-kTool to recover the Imei.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
so here is my problem.
i have a samsung note 2 (N7100) with 16 gb internal memory. I didn't paid much attention to the internal memory space, and had tons of data on it. And the phone reached a stage, where the internal memory (16gb) got entirely full. so, the phone got off automatically maybe due to unavailability of the space required to run the phone and apps.
I didn't had much idea about it, but 2 or 3 days before my phone went off, i had checked my internal memory and it was on the verge of getting full almost, i had this thing in my mind that when it will get almost full, a message will pop up on screen saying "your memory is full, please delete files." But, in vain.
Now the thing is, the phone won't start up, when you press the power on button, it will show the screen with samsung logo but won't go through. the logo will stay or the phone will automatically turn off. I am not much of a tech guy. I tried going to local repairing shops, but they all had this one thing, we can start your phone but we can not pull out the data and consider your data as gone. Data is highly important for me. I do not have any issues if the phone does not start up, but i want to extract my data anyhow, as it has my personal data (media and documents) of the last entire year, i know when i knew that data was so important than i should have backed that up from time to time. But, i do not have any backup.
i had never installled any custom os or no nothing about rooting my phone. the phone was running android 4.2.2 and i used apps like snapchat, whatsapp, bbm , document reader , facebook and few games.
i started searching out on the net for my problem, as i can not handover my device to any local or repairing guy, because they can not get me my data back for sure. than i found this thing, you can go to bootmenu than scrolldown to "clear cache memory" and maybe that could release a bit of space on the phone and somehow get my phone started and get me my data back. To get to the boot menu,
Boot Into Recovery Mode on Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Turn off your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 device.
With your device turned off, press the Volume Up, Power button and Home Button at the same time, for a couple of seconds.
When you see the recovery mode displayed on the screen, release the buttons.
i exactly did the same thing as mentioned above, but did not found any recovery screen rather found screen warning me about custom os or custom rom installation and other option read start phone normally. on selecting the first option and continuing "that i understand the risks of installing custom rom'" a screen will appear saying downloading and nothing will happen. and if i say second option the phone will start, and the samsung screen will come up and it won't go through.
the bottom line: my phone won't start up. And i won't be able to pop my data.
i had tried factory reset via boot menu earlier in the past in samsung galaxy y and y duos , there i did saw factory reset, cache wipe , ackup and other expected recovery screen. I know what the recovery screen looks like but in this case i can not get through as some odin something screen will appear instead of recovery screen. I won't find normal boot options but this two stubborn options as mentioned above here.
I don't know what to do . i would be highly grateful if anyone from here can help me out. and i already went through several threads in the forum, but none of the thread exactly matched my problem.
i also had this one idea that if i can remove the memory ic from the ciruit board of the phone and can get it fixed on other note 2's memory than maybe i could get my memory on that device and can recover. I know its dumb to think so and such a thing is not possible as everything on the circuit board is heavily linked to the board and we can not remove the memory ic. I can not get my files via hardware manipulation i know.
also, i have learned that flashing or re-installing the os, would start up my phone, but i would loose all my data and that's what i do not want. There are recovery apps such as recuva, which can recover your data, but that's still like taking a chance and is risky. and may be internal memory data can not be recovered.
Every android guy i knew all said the same thing that there is no way to get the data back even the android geeks whom i knew said the same thing. i am helpless.
I need media and document files mainly and importantly.
I just want someone from here to be a angel and push away my problem and help me out.
i do not have anything such as developer mode on in my phone, as i have already said that i am not much of a tech guy. I am a normal user without much knowledge of how to fix , root or any other thing.
please help me out.
Thanks for your valuable time in much advance.
The only hope is this thread. Be my saviour.
When I use the lock icon that appears on the lock screen when Smart Lock is engaged, it occasionally pops up an error message that the System UI has stopped. This problem persists even after I've done a factory reset (wiping the cache in recovery before and after). Toggling Smart Lock features off and on doesn't help.
Although the phone thinks the error is unfortunate, I'm not noticing any problems apart from the error message itself.
If it matters: I'm using the Google Now launcher, and my device and SD card are encrypted.
Same
Same thing here. Also using google now launcher, also have sd card, only difference is I'm not encrypted.
Yes I am seeing this one too sometimes. Had to do a battery pull to shut it down (last time), never had that issue before Lollipop
