[Q] WiFi not working with Stock 4.4.2 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi,
I downloaded the latest firmware from sammobile for my Galaxy S4. It's version 4.4.2. I can not enable the wi-fi. Do you now what could be causing this error? I need the stock firmware for my Gear 2 watch to work correctly. Thank you.

Reboot in recovery and wipe data, cache and dalvik. That should work.

I had the same think happen to me as well, i was on 4.3 rooted. So I tried some new 4.4.2 ROMs, noticed I wasnt able to enable WiFi, so I unrooted and went to stock 4.4.2. At first it said MK2 in build, so i rew flashed again. It finally said NB4 in build but again, no WiFi...
Tried wipe, factory reset, reflash, nothing fixes it...

Go here and try ktoonzes tw kernel. Edit your build.prop and you should have WiFi back. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2289140

[Q] SGN2 N7100 Boot/Reboot problems

Hi, wondering if anyone can help.
I was running my note 2 n7100 on Omega rom v15 with perseus kernal v35. It was fine, until yesterday my phone started rebooting.
I reflashed Omega rom, I unrooted and reflashed stock rom, I rooted and tried other roms.. however, im still having problems.
Once the phone has restarted and got to home screen, whenever I do anything, the phone reboots. (on Cm10.1 rom varients - jellybam and pa3.5)
When using stock rom and omega rom the phone doesn't even go past the samsung galaxy note II logo screen.
I've read somewhere, that reflashing the bootloader may help, so I may give that a try..
Does anyone else have any ideas or similar problems?
Hi
Never had this issue but if I were you, I think I'll do all Wipe & format options from my recovery and then I'll flash a Factory firmware via Odin.

Flashing a stock rom isn't a clean installation so this is not what I suggested.

[Q] Wi-fi issues across the board. What should I do?

Hello XDA community, my brother has been having wi-fi and bluetooth issues on his T-MO Note II ever since applying the 4.3 OTA. Before I go on, the first thing I did was use CF-auto root and flash both agni pure stock and devil kernel and neither of them have worked. In addition, I have used dr.ketans patch as well as flashing some AOSP based ROMs such as AOKP and SlimKat and neither of them have yielded any results. I have tried almost everything I can find via XDA and I am truly stumped.
Do you guys have any solutions to the wifi issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated! :good:
Can you elaborate, what wifi issues ?
Frequent disconnects ?
Battery drains ?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Wi-fi wil not turn on whatsoever. I can press the icon to turn it on and it will slide to the on position greyed out, and then go back to off right away. The same for bluetooth as well.
If the phone was already on 4.3 then wifi patch was not needed.
I would advise to flash stock image and start fresh. Make sure to wipe dalvik-cache after flashing stock ROM.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Thanks, I will try that when I can. By any chance do you know where I can find a 4.3 image? I've tried looking into the stickies over at the Dev section and they don't have 4.3 as far as I can recall. The only 4.3 image I see is the stock root injected one from Mr.Robinson.
You can download one from sammobile.com. You will have to register though, make sure you download the file for sgh-t889.

I just wanted to say thank you to both ciphercodes and Squilchi for all your help. My brother also says a big thanks as he doesn't have an account here. When the Note II finished rebooting from the image flash via Odin, I almost freaked out because nothing had seemingly changed but then I realized I was already on the 4.3 OTA. I also had an spectacular noob moment by forgetting to wipe cache in stock recovery. After I did that, I am glad to report that Wi-fi and bluetooth work as it's supposed to. I can't say thank you enough. In the odd occasion that this should happen again, a wipe of cache in stock recovery should be okay correct?

Glad to know issue was resolved. By default it's highly unlikely that these problems will return on a stock ROM but if they do then flashing back to stock is the most optimal solution.
Unfortunately I may have spoken too soon. Wi-Fi was working just fine for a bit but suddenly it can't connect to the network nor see any other networks. It can still turn on but connecting to remembered networks and seeing other networks are a no-go. Bluetooth is wonky as well. I'm starting to think it's hardware but I doubt it.

I have yet to wipe data since it seemed okay although the notion has been floating in my head. I did wipe cache and shortly after, it didn't work. I suggested unforgetting the network and adding it again and that seemed to work for a little while. No error messages, just the same slide to on greyed out and back to off.

Its weird that it was working and now its not wiping data couldnt hurt. Do you have Odin 3.0.9? Flash that tar file again and make sure bootloader update is checked.

Just a little update, I booted to stock recovery and performed a factory reset and wipe cache partitions but still nothing after it booted. To answer your question, I did use Odin 3.09 and it was already on MK7 prior to my first flash of the tar file in Odin. This is so frustrating.
Sorry for the double post, but I just did a factory reset and wipe cache and just re-flashed the tar file with update bootloader ticked and still a no-go. It's a shame the 4.3 update has borked my brother's Note II to this extent but it seems like the majority of people don't experience this. I'm stumped....

Prior to all this madness, I did try flashing JediMasterX2(I think) and AOKP, two ROMs that I would heavily associate with being stable and basically have everything work. Unfortunately, they didn't work. After all that went down and I restored my backed-up OTA all the way to now, it has been on MK7 stock kernel since then. I'm about to flip a table or something.

[Q] WiFi won't turn on after 4.4.2 ODIN [SOLVED]

This has been a giant pain in the donkey. My wife has upgraded to GS5, so I took her old GS4 and decided to update to KitKat. I flashed a completely stock Samsung 4.4.2 ROM through ODIN. Since then I have not been able to turn on WiFi. The little thumb slider jumps back as soon as I try to enable it.
I've searched the web, and a few people reported this issue, but so far none of the remedies have worked.
Anyone know of a fix?

Tried that multiple times. No go.
The firmware I was using is from Fenny's KK thread:
[ROM][STOCK][4.4.2][TMO Base][[ODEX]/[DEODEX+DEBLOAT-v1.3]]KitKat 3-29-2014
The one at the bottom of the OP, rebuilt, stock, with bootloader.
Fenny's rebuilt COMPLETELY STOCK ODIN compatible firmware that actually works, lol
Flashing it again now, for sh..ts and giggles...
UPDATE: Reflashing for sh..ts and giggles actually worked. Problem solved, not sure why or how.

Well, after flashing the stock KitKat ODIN twice, and no WiFi, I decided to go back to Jelly 4.3, since everything was working there. Unfortunately, flashing the KiKat odin image replaces the bootloader, so technically speaking there's no going back, and I knew that. Since I had nothing to lose, I went ahead with it. As expected, Jelly did not boot, it got stuck at the T-Mo logo animation. After about 10 minutes of looking at the logo, I pulled the battery. Then, for sh..ts a giggles, I decided to reflash the KitKat for the 3rd time, and voila, WiFi started working.
I don't know if trying to flash Jelly had anything to do with it, or if it was a coincidence, and the 3rd time flashing KitKat was the charm, but that's how I got it working for me.

4.4.2 ROM Signal Problems.

Hey guys, I've been having problems with 4.4.2 KitKat ROMs. I'm not a newb when it comes to flashing ROMs, but whenever I install a 4.4.2 ROM, I lose my service and can't make calls or use mobile data. Now im guessing it has to do with the radio/modem. Now when it comes to radios/modems, im a newb.
Is there something different about 4.4.2 ROMs that I'm not aware about? I've flashed plenty of other ROMs before, but never had this problem.
If any of you guys can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm having a problem that I cant figure out also. I had Beanstalk, working good.. Then someone posted a beanstalk 0414 link from AT&T . As soon as I did this I had this unresolvable problem where many (not all) cant call me or text me. I can text them and call them. When I call my cell from a desk phone, it says "one moment" or something it gets cut off then it rings my phone. I tried odin'ing nb4 and it's there but my phone just doesn't something.
I went back and odin'ed the stock rom, rerooted etc.. but no difference. same issue. Now I put the original working beanstalk on my phone and its fine other then the issues noted above. I'm in south florida, I wonder if there is an issue with NB4 down here.
PS. When I odin'ed back Stock, my Baseband was still nb4, is this correct? the modem wont change?

This procedure will work, I updated my modem to NB4 before kitkat and had no data loss whatsoever after upgrading to kitkat.
Running Fenny's stock /rooted Rom with no problems. Just follow directions in op. Also running Philz touch recovery.

Installed NB4 Modem while on 4.2.2 and it worked. Thanks for everyones help. Signal seems to be the same, if not better! Now my recovery is acting wonky, but its not cause of the modem, I know that for sure.... that should be no problem though, I was just inexperienced with modems and needed help with that. Thanks!

I live in central FL and NB4 works perfect. As for rerooting you would have to flash back to the original modem for it to change. Before you do that, try flashing a different kernel like ktoonzes

Download the Google Specific No SSL version (first download link). Flash that in recovery. See if that helps.
If it doesn't, try the next one, the Google specific one with SSL
If that doesn't work, look further down the list and use the one specific to your carrier.
If that doesn't work...I dunno.
You will likely have to flash this again when you update the ROM. But no big deal. You can do it in recovery right after you flash the ROM update.

So here's what I've done.
First Im pretty sure its related to the modem or radio? is it the same? I remember flashing a 4.3 rom from 4.2 and the network wasnt working so I had to flash a md5 modem.
Now I tried flashing official 4.2.2
No go.
Upgrading official to 4.3
No go
Upgrading official to 4.4
No go
Now I'm back on CM 11 because I like the rom.

If you have flashed official firmware then it is not radio/modem related. It would be hardware related. This is the reason I stay away from CM. It works perfect while you use it but once you go back to TW it causes conflicts for me most of the time. I have used GPS status and cleared the cached GPS data and downloaded the GPS data and it fixes itself within minutes. I also have at least 2 users that had your same issue use the app and followed the instructions and confirmed the method to be working. I believe that CM leaves remnants of the system that cause a conflict with any other system. I had a full wipe file in my extsd but deleted it somehow. I can't remember where I got it from but it does wonders. It wipes everything and prevents leftover crap from the previous ROM or system so there is no conflicts. For example there is a folder in my internal SD called wicked ROM that I cannot delete for the life of me! The only way that I could get rid of it would be going back to stock or flashing the full wipe zip that I no longer have because I lost it. Anyway I will try to find this zip and share with you and you can flash you ROM after. Hopefully it will work for ya.

I'm in the exact same boat as the op... And I've tried all the same steps to fix it (including the gps app) but with no luck. Only difference being that I'm not on CM. I'm on the 4.4.2 GE ROM (aosp)
Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks fellas
