[Q] Charging problem - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I bought a Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T310) 3 months ago and from 2 weeks ago I'm having a charging problem. On beginning my device just charge very slow until 54% and stops, after some connect and disconnet of charger the % gone to 100 without any explanation. Ok, after few days the same problem again, then I did a factory reset and everything was ok again until yesterday. Same problem, very slow charge and just like 30% after a full night.
I never did nothing with the rom of the device, is the same which comes with it.
Please, someone have any idea about it? Probably is a firmware problem.

hey,
please read the thread below. It's a common problem with our model. My is currently away being repair.

Battery at 40% -> Phone shuts down

Hi, my cousin's arc is acting weird. It doesn't happen all the time so it is hard for me know what is exactly wrong.
1) When the battery was at 40%, the phone shuts down. This happened once when I was playing with it and I thought maybe I mistaken 4% for 40.
Then a few days later.
2) My cousin noticed the battery was at 40%, he left the phone in his pocket and it shuts down. So now I think last time when I was playing with it, it wasn't a mistake.
Then when the phone is pluged in, it will be low on battery e.g. 4 percent. He doesn't use the phone a lot so it should last a day or two before it need to be charged again from fully charged. But the phone just shut down at 40percent today.
So now it is hard for me to know what is wrong with it. Is it due to battery being defected? Problem with the phone itself? Or might be some apps that caused the problem?
It is running on 2.3.3 Rogers firmware. Stock, not rooted etc. He had the phone for a week and it happened 2-3 times already.
Thanks.
You could try repairing it via SEUS but you will lose all data. Make a back up.
It could be that the phone has stored incorrect limits for the battery - a factory reset should solve this.
However, it seems more likely to me that the battery is faulty.
Thanks for these suggestions. I have searched the forum quite a bit last night and there were a few others looked like the problem I am having. So going to try out those methods first. Then the suggestions in this thread.
Has he tried running the phone flat, then take out the battery and charge it with the phone off till completion. Mine used to shutdown anytime after 20% ; after doing this it never has again. Shot in the dark ... worth the effort.
Any update??

Was the issue resolved? What all things did you try?
Nope, the best I got is 20% then to 1% then shutdown. It is in repair centre now.
I have tried repairing, reflashing, battery widget etc, everything I can find on xda and it didn't work.
Updates
It came back from the repair center and did not get repaired, it was phone being sent only. It still had the problem.
Then sent it again (good thing it is just 20 mins drive on highway) and left the phone and battery there.
Now got phone back, battery is replaced (since I think it was battery being faulty). Now it is at 29% percent and looking good.
I will update this thread if I got more. I am leaving this thread here so others who have this problem and tried all the suggested methods on xda and failed, it means that your battery is faulty!

Help! My phone wont charge anymore! GEN

So I didn't know where to post this, cause Im not really sure what the problem is.
Not sure if its the rom, kernel or the phone, but it is definitely software related.
Im currently running AOKP Milestone 5 & the 3.0.8 Trinity Kernel.
2 days ago I woke up and found my phone wasn't charging anymore. Tried 3 different chargers and nothing seems to help.
Then I decided to turn off my phone, and to my surprise - I get a charging indication. When turned on 3 hrs later, Im usually fully charged. But my phone WILL NOT charge whatsoever if it is on.
What the heck is wrong with my phone?

A LOT of users have reported this problem, yet Samsung claims it is water damage and won't do a warranty repair: http://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyNexus/comments/tqlii/samsung_refusing_to_honor_warranty_for_infamous/
Thats happened to me a few times.
I dont know how i fixed it.. i tried to run the battery down (was around 30%) and then connected it to the charger.. worked after.
I hope it isnt water damage because im sending my phone in for repair.

Needs time to indicate charging/discharging

So this problem appeared a couple of hours ago. When I plug in the phone it needs some time(1 minute) to indicate that it's charging. It's the same when I plug in the charger.
The first "stage" of the problem was that it didn't indicate charging at all. While the phone was powered off it showed the battery icon, then the screen went black and showed the battery again. Then I cleared the port with a needle and now the problem is like I stated above.
I managed to return the phone back to stock with fastboot, because I intend to go to the shop I bought it from tomorrow.
My questions are: Is this enough to conceal that I had a custom rom and kernel installed? And is it possible that it's a problem with the battery? I hope not because, while my warranty is 2 years long, the warranty for the battery is only 6 months. ((

my galaxy tab3 is charging super slow

hello everyone.
My galaxy tab3 8'' was charging super slow (from 0% to 100% more than 5 hours) so i send it for repairs to Samsung service (it's 2 months old so i was covered by the warranty) it came back yesterday followed by the technician's report saying that he replaced the battery the charger and the screen (no idea why he replaced the screen too since it was fine). i charged my tabled later that day and i noticed that the charging problem wasn't fixed, it still takes ages to charge . what do i do?

Maybe you need a Custom Kernel
Take a look at Tab 3 8.0 Development Section.
Good luck.

[Q] [P-600] maybe a hardware problem.

The problem - At first it began with battery sudden drops. From 80% it drops to 20 and after restart it was again 80%. After that I bring it to the place where I bought it and after a week they tell me it's battery problem and the battery has 6 months warranty and it's expired. I read the forum and decided I will root it (I read in some topic that may help). I root it and at first I thought it fixed it, but I was wrong. It started doing it again after a day. I started using the tablet only on charger. But after a month of use mostly on charger the tablet started to flashes ( don't know if that's the right word: the screen started turning of and on really fast like there is not enough power to stay on) and after that the tablet turns off. At that state I was thinking the battery is absolutely dead and I bought one from e-bay. After changing it there was no change. After that I take the tablet and bring it to different store to check what is it wrong with him. They tell me the second battery is broken and cannot be charged or something. I bought 3th battery this time not from e-bay but from official Samsung store(the same store that tells me the problem is from the battery). And everything is the same with all the 3 batteries.
Now the tablet won't stay on more then 1 minute no matter which battery is using. With more luck it shows the homepage and after 10-20 sec restarts again. In bad days it won't even start.
Now I think it's not from the battery and the people in the stores were incompetent and didn't check correct. I am with this on the tablet.
What should I do now? Should I sold my tablet for parts and battery or is there a way to fix it by myself? Is there a way to make it work only on charger again or something? I don't know if the people from the store will want to check it again when it's rooted. Please help I am desperate.
Sorry for the bad english.

I dont know what the problem is but what i would do is at least flash it back to stock or maybe a factory reset and see if the problem still is there. If the problem is still there after trying those 2 things then i would say it is a hardware issue. Im just saying what i would try first before trying to sell for parts.
