Before, I could use Google now to search through Google Apps but I notified today that I can't do that and when I opened the search settings I didn't found all the apps that I can search in like before.
Any suggestions?
I have the same problem.
Any fix?

Ashaman's mod had the option to re enable universal search in Google Search. I prefer being able to use search to search for apps, contacts etc. I'm wondering if there is any to not have it show results by default when opening search. For example, when I open search, it'll show most people contacted and my last searches. I rather it didn't.
I cleared the data under app management and that seemed to do the trick. Except as soon as I searched for something that same list was back. Any way to get rid of it?
The other day I did a hard reset. All is back to normal with the exception of one thing. I no longer have a search history on the phone. When I click the search bar at the top of the home screen, none of my past searches are there. When I go into the search settings, the "clear on-device search history" is greyed out.
I do have my google account set to have my web history paused, but I don't think that is the same as my search history on my phone.
Is there a setting that I'm overlooking that needs to be turned on or off? I 've looking everywhere on the phone I can think of and no luk. I know it did save my searches before the reset.
Side note: I noticed that the google search app is no longer in the play store when I search for it via the phone, but it's installed on the phone. I do know that my tablet running official jelly bean does have search history and the search app shows up on the play store with that device.
Thanks for the help.
I've exhausted my search efforts on both Google and the Forums and either my search terms are too vague or there simply isn't a thread out there which addresses this issue.
My Google Now on my N7100 is now insisting on redirecting all searches to an external browser, whether it be the Popup Browser, Stock Sammy Browser, or Chrome, depending on which I decide. Every time I do a search with Google Now, it always pops up the chooser. It didn't do this before. I recently uninstalled Chrome and before that searches were always completed inside the Google Search app and then all links would go to whatever default I would choose. Now, it always insists on performing the search through whatever Browser I have chosen as default. I tried reinstalling Chrome, but that didn't make a difference.
Is there anyway to get the Google Now searches back to being performed in the search app, and not forced to an outside browser?
So I just updated to KitKat with Google Search ver.3.1.8 and Google Play Store ver. 4.4.22. My device is not rooted and is stock.
Every time I try to search for apps in the play store, I always keep getting the 'connection timed out' message. The play store home page shows and I can access apps through the various home menus but I can't search for any apps.
I've cleared caches and even removed/re-added my account but still can't search for apps. Does anybody know what the problem could be and how to fix it?

Oh man I thought I screwed something up with my device and was beginning to worry. Thanks for the reply and the link.
Is anyone successfully using this new Google Now functionality on their S3 where you can activate Google Now from your lock screen, screen shut off or inside any app? I installed it via another users instructions at Android Police:
You can force OK Google everywhere to be enabled. Enable debug/dogfood settings by using UnleashtheGoogle, found here. http://coggy.euroskank.com/APK...
Force stop Google Search once UTG has ran, then go into search settings, then config flags. Enable both e300 toggles, add your country code(en-US for USA) in "speaker_id_supported_locales". Save the config by tapping save config settings at the bottom.
But after doing so, it's not activating except from the home screen.
I second this question. Updated both Google Play Services and Google Search APK to the latest (manually, wouldn't show up the updates un the Play Store) but nothing new. The only setting I have is still to enable it from the home screen or Google Apps...
I'm on CM11 M7, if that matters.
Ive also got an s3 running cm11. I manually installed the google services and google search but nothing has changed
Now, I've never run this on CM11, but I use Home2 Shortcut. Once setup it brings up google search just by double pressing the home button. Hope it helps.
