So i had the same issue so i tried this DSP Manager (see attachments) and i had no FC's and all its features work.
Even though i prefer the Sound Enhancements i still keep DSP Manager, furthermore i have tested on many CM11/AOSP roms.
Just push into /system/app/ and set permissions to -rw-r--r. :good:
Press Thanks if i have helped. :highfive:
DSP manager is not affecting bass or audio equalization neither for earphones nor for the speaker.
I have a rooted GT-i8150 with @arco68 CM 11.0 ROM installed.
Dunno if it is meant to, but DSP manager doesn't seem to be requesting root access.
Anyone can help?

I don't think DSP manager need root access to work. Just look for other audio enhancement if it doesn't work.

Try AC!D Audio Engine 8.3. Kindly read user comments 4-5 pages from last.
Hi,
I am using DN3 V5.5,.. I installed V4a couple of days back as per the proceduce given here on XDA :
1) Install apk version4 (for os above 4.x)
2) Open app, Install driver (I chose Super audio quality)
3) Enabled and rebooted.
4) Chose V4aFX in Music effects
5) Rebooted again
Did I do something wrong.. I tried various IRS files as well but there is no effect that I can really feel..
Can someone please help me on this.. I know there are lot of experts out there
thx
You did nothing wrong and this is unusual, have you tried dolby pro ligicII music irs? That irs is notificable and enable reverberation options like dry signal 50%, wet 10%, large room size etc. You should feel the difference.

I've installed V4A in the past because it was recommended but I couldn't really tell a difference.
It can't be mate, there must be something wrong, btw, viper doesn't boost sound, it modifies sound. If the installed version is correct and if you modify sound settings with different irs files, you must feel the changes. If nothing works for you guys, install 'Busybox free' from playstore and then check again.

MaxxAudio is good but together with beats audio and xloud, you can get megaloud thumping dance music. You need to be rooted, though.
Just install beats audio installer apk from here: http://techbeasts.com/2013/11/14/be...beats-audio-drive-on-your-android-smartphone/
and Xloud audio installer apk from here: http://m.downloadatoz.com/apps/com.nowenui.xloud.free,774276.html
Make sure your music volume is low. After installing both apks, you'll need to add some lines in system/buildprop for xloud to work. Use es explorer to add:
ro.semc.sound_effects_enabled=true
ro.semc.xloud.supported=true
persist.service.xloud.enable=1
I'm on cos 1.2.7i Find 7. Beats audio already makes a difference but together with xloud, the headset volume hits the roof. So, be careful. After installing xloud, I could hear a soft but broken bass. I lowered the bass boost in maxxaudio before bringing up the volume. That's how I know xloud is working. You get a red beats audio notification once you plug in headset.
Try at your own risk but please remember to LOWER THE MUSIC VOLUME after installation and work your way up.
Oh, don't forget to do a backup just in case things go south. Cheers.
Beats looks cool but Xloud will be too much with MaXXaudio, isn't it ?
How to activate beats after install ?

Hi, beats is activated when headset is plugged in. The red icon should show up. No, xloud just increases the volume. Just make sure to lower maxx bass slider before you install it. How do you find it?
share beats apk, i hope it's not version who you can't uninstall it...
from OP, link is dead...

It is, but if you restore backup, it should be gone...unless I'm wrong. Even so, I'm glad to have it. I have truly amazing sound now. I've attached apks.
Killed my MaxxAudio, no beats icon... and can't restore cause no parttion selected ????
So fun...

Since another thread is getting hijacked it might be a good idea to start talking about Viper4Android in a separate place. This is just to share some info, not a Q&A for Viper4Android.
Viper4Android FX is like the “advanced” version of DSP Manager/Beats Audio by providing you with more advanced Surround/Bass/Clarity/Gain boost controls in addition to an equalizer that you can use for your headphones, speakers, bluetooth devices, and more.
I found the guide on how to do it here, I just updated the links and added some more info:
1. You need root and twrp
1a. Make a backup in twrp
1b. Seriously, make the backup
Skip 2. and go to 3. if you are using SuperSU
2. Change to permissive mode with SELinux Mode Changer that you can download here
3. Boot into twrp and flash Viper4Android, you can download the zip from here (old link here).
3b. Reflash SuperSu
3c. Wipe cache and dalvik
4. Boot
5. Start Viper4Android and give root access
6. Still in Viper4Android, under settings switch FX Compatible mode to Compatible.
7. Reboot
8. Activate Viper4Android
9. Enjoy
Additional info:
If you use Poweramp, disable Direct volume control in settings/audio/advanced tweaks.
Do it at your own risk and for technical questions about Viper4Android it's better if you post in the thread you find at 3.
Some people report it working without changing to permissive mode, others report that it's not working at all. Any feedback is appreciated.

I've flashed it, tbh I only notice a small difference when activating it but I still have to play around with the settings. Also, I'm using Jetaudio, maybe it doesn't work that well with that.
Also, I've just changed the description in the op, according to the viper4android post I link to if you already use supersu (which is the same as in the rooting guide) you don't need to do the change to permissive mode.

Just curious, do you see a significant difference with your current v4a settings as compared to stock?
@charliebigpot you can add in OP that in order to make poweramp work with it, disable Direct volume control in settings/audio/advanced tweaks.

For me personally, I used lolliviper in the nexus 5 forums. Flashed through TWRP and then followed by SuperSU.
No need to change the selinux.

With the phone speakers, not much I played around with some settings to give sound a "fuller" effect.
However with Bluetooth or wired headset, definitely noticeable.
Do you guys flash busybox also prior to all of this?

Through the play store.

Edit: I'm sorry I miss read the post. Yes, install busybox first then flashing V4A through TWRP.
Xtreme Music
Guys Viper works great but why don't u check out xtreme music mod too. It's the mixture of all the best music mods ..!!

imo, poweramp's equalizer does an amazing job already. Just ramp up the headphone gain from mixer_path.xml and you're good to go.

Could you explain how you got it working? I've tried everything man. Normal mode /compatible mode. Tried all 3 drivers. Tried both selinux modes. Even tried changing the build prop with no luck. Any ideas or tips? I am on 2.1.3x myself. Rooted with supersu

First off i'll share my setup:
Recovery: Eng.stk Twrp r5
Kernel: Also by Eng.stk r61
Rom Stock 2.1.3-x
Viper4android: Use lolliviper zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/discussion-viper4android-t2543796
I just flashed the lolliviper zip file through twrp. flash SuperSU 2.52 again just in case. wipe cache and dalvik. reboot.
after reboot, launch V4A app. grant supersu permission. install "high quality" (the middle one) driver. reboot.
Test by playing music (from storage, pandora, spotify etc.) keep music playing and then launch V4A again. go to 3 dot menu and choose driver status and it should show if its processing or not.
good luck.

Duuude. I don't know how. But it worked xD crazy how simple that was yet I couldn't get it right in so many tries. More ppl should see this. Maybe OP can even add the steps into OP. Thanks mate!

I'll add the optional supersu step, but the rest is already there. After that it's up to each one to select between the 3 profiles at first boot.
Someone should try LolliViPER[6.0.1].zip zip on any 6.0+ ROM wit "Enforcing" kernel, see if it works.
I found this on the Nexus 5 post that is linked in the OP, guys got a bunch of Thanks for this, guess it wont hurt to try.
