I have tried Kingo Root, and the Safe Root option. Neither have worked. Kingo gets blocked by KNOX and Safe Root can't find the SU binary when it tries to root. (I don't see why it should already be there...because it's not rooted). Any help would be appreciated.
Android 4.2.2
Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (LTE, International Version)
Any more questions about the device just ask.
I don't really wanna have to wipe and stick a custom recovery on here to root.

Hi everyone,
pardon me for my noobiness
I have tried cf autoroot step by step with caution. but my device still stays unrooted.
i have i747 at&t with 4.1.2
in odin i does see everything as good, but no SuperSU app.
root checker goes in infinte loop returns nothing, Tibu says device not rooted.
do i have options?
i want to stick to 4.1.2 TW stock with root access, twrp and triangle away to reset my counter.
as I already used CW 10.2 JB 4.3 and was missing my ugly touchwiz, camera, multiwindow

If the auto root worked (rebooted into recovery and did it's thing) than just download SuperSU from the play store. Update the binary by opening the app and than recheck for root.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
after trying for 5 times, it worked.
i am rooted now.
but have another issue, gave my google account for phone setup. also used mrrobinson debloater.
noticed that none of my apps from playstore are getting installed on my phone.
is it because mrrobinsoon debloater deleted something or its just me , a noob..
pls help.
Hey guys,
I know there are tons of Superuser apps and root methods such as cf autoroot but I'm hoping someone knows is how to root the S4 (SGH-M919) and have Koush's Superuser.apk be your SU client. I don't want to use Chainfire or SuperSU or anything else. It seems 4.3 for me will only accept SuperSU but I was hoping to use the CWM Superuser as I do on all of my other devices. Would hate to have a different SU just on this one device. Any ideas on how to get superuser.apk working on 4.3 on the S4 (Stock, custom recovery, rooted with SuperSU for now).

Method 1
Use Odin to install a custom recovery of your choice.
Boot to recovery.
Flash any Superuser.apk you want.
Using Odin to install the recovery won't root the current ROM. It will just give you a custom recovery. From the custom recovery you can install anything you want, including the Superuser.apk of your choice.
Method 2
Root it using whatever root method works even if it installs SuperSU.
Uninstall SuperSU through the 1 click feature in the app.
Boot to your custom recovery. (Will NOT be automatically installed with CF Auto Root. You will have to flash a recovery after rooting)
Flash Superuser.
Reboot. Enjoy goodness.

Hey SkipJacks! Thanks for the quick reply. Method 2 seems to be the closest for me but it seems to be a no go with Koush's SuperUser. It looks like it relies on some binaries that never download and it won't use the ones that SuperSU installs. I guess I'm gonna have to use SuperSU for now. Thanks again. I just prefer Koush's to Chains and Chainfires. Everything was working fine on 4.2.2 but from 4.3 on it's only been SuperSU.
I'm beginning to think it's broken as many people are saying the same thing.
SM-T705, CF-Autoroot already. I was asked the above question. As I have rooted already I cant tell.
1 So if one installs TWRP recovery with Odin (not TWRP Manager apk) and just wants to backup his Tab, I would say there is no root necessary for doing this.
2 Will the Installation of TWRP with Odin trip Knox already ?
3 What is necessary for TWRP restore ... I guess root...
yes it will trip knox, anything custom other than an added binary (su.bin) will trip knox. Root isn't needed to backup/restore a ROM outside of Android, just a custom recovery.
If you have rooted with CF-Autoroot you tripped Knox already.

you con downgrade an older stock kernel w/out tripping knox ... but that's about all you can do. That said, I'd love to know if anyone has tried king, or towelroot. I'm too chicken. But towelroot DID work on our 8.4 tab pro (w/out tripping knox).

The thing is, is the tab pro exynos? I dont think towelroot works on exynos or some exynos devices
can't recall - but I thought it was the other way around - that towelroot (& kingo) won't work on snapdragon 's. I'll have to check to see what we got.
