yesterday I upgraded to 4.1.2 from my t mobile s3.. and now that when I try to open any root applications like titanium backup and greenify it says root access needed. I downloaded root checker.. and it says *you have no proper root access*.. I don't know how the supersu is still installed?? and it can not be uninstalled..? I tried to uninstall from the settings and asked me to reboot.. but still supersu was there? can anyone tell me how to permanently uninstall it so that I can root my phone again and clean install a supersu?
note: I did not have any custom rom installed. . was just having root access and supersu. .
How did you update? I'm guessing you have no custom recovery so if you want to keep everything stock but just have root, then flash the MD5 or respective root66 image for your phone in Odin

Just because you have Supersu does not mean you are rooted. What is the version after update ?

I updated from the notification bar on my mobile.. and yeah I did not have custom recovery either. . should I just root my phone again? I don't know what to do.. I have frozen some of the bloatware from titanium and I can't get them back? even after force stopping titanium backup.. ?
thanks.. I force stopped supersu and disabled it from there.. and it gone away..

If you want to root it use cf-auto root to root, re-enable supersu if you decide to do this

Just received the OTA... After download cannot install due to the device been rooted.
Any idea how to bypass the root check or install?
You can try this app -
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amphoras.hidemyroot
But I think it will not work, you can trick some apps but can't trick the OTG (OS).
I think I've tried everything to hide root. I've even unrooted and it still won't update. You have to reflash the stock rom to get it to update OTA. If only someone knew where it's downloading to so that we can extract and manually update.

No knock code, but that can easily be added putting 2 files into system/apps from the G Pro 2. You can also add SlideAside.

Purpledrake crashed before it could install TWRP, so i only have root. Also do you know if installing a custom recovery wipes the phone?

[SOLVED]
Hi guys, I'm having troubles trying to root my ZF2 550ML.
I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted it from the official Asus ROM, then installed some custom roms, but I did once wipe everything because I had a bootloop, then reinstalled CM 13 and it's working great, but I tried to root with method 2 & 3 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596 but it wasn't working, it gave me bootloop as well...
I downloaded the official ROM from Asus, should I wipe everything then reinstall the ROM from the recovery?
Thanks for the help
Up guys, please
CM13 is pre-root. Activate it in developper options. You can also flash supersu zip via twrp if you want but not necessary.

Oh I didn't know that! Thank you !
I activated from the dev options but I get a bootloop when flashing SU with TWRP, what can I do?
You don't need supersu with Cm13! Once you activate root in DO root management is handled by privacy guard.

Oh I see (sorry for the long time answer).
Thank you!
I just got the ota on a new phone. One
my old one I was running pure nexus with systemless root with echo commands
On this one I'm non rooted on N
My question is, is there a way to systemless root and all without losing data? I saw a post about the CF auto root not wiping data. Can I run that, then run the unroot, then systemless root?
Are you sure CF auto root doesn't install systemless root? And why do you need systemless over system root?
Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
I forgot to add that the only reason I want this is for the extended location menu in the status bar quick settings

You should check on systemless and Android pay. I think even that breaks it.

It wasn't breaking it about a month ago. As long as you do the echo commands it had been working for me.
Systemless root works fine with TWRP 3.0.2-2 and SuperSU 2.76 +
Will not wipe data, provided that your bootloader is already unlocked.

No idea on that. I used fastboot flash recovery twrp. Boot into recovery, install superSU. Pretty easy but need a computer to flash TWRP.
