To be honest I have no idea why people use freegee.

Auto-rec will take care of you with no issues and keep download mode.

hello everyone . First I want to thank you for helping me out. I havent flashed anything in over a year. The phone has been good to me . Ok I was running OpTimuSDE_v1.8 ZVA since last year Feb or so. yesterday I get up and notice that the phone is stuck on recovery TWRP 2.6.3.4. I havent the need to flash since last year and now this. I dont know what to do. Ive tried flashing my backup to no avail. there were some there this morning but now theyre gone. Before I go ahead and brick this i need to ask for some sort of assistance from those in the know. Is it possible to push a different rom and then flash that rom or do I need to update the recovery image then push the rom and then flash?? Any assistance would be awesome . Thank you ..
You may be slightly bricked. Though you have recovery. I would say your option is either tot or as you said try side load or if you have storage device that you can access from the phone. You could update TWRP from cm12 thread. Flash cm12 then modem to zv8, then gapps. Or as before might be best to tot so you know your safe.
If you tot. Which I believe in sorting g2 general there is a zve tot. Then stump root, auto-rec. Update TWRP, flash lollipop rom, zv8 radio, gapps. Prosper

Hi,
Sorry if this is a silly question. How do I go about installing CyanogenMod on the d855? I had a OnePlus One and had to return it due to a fault but loved CyanogenMod and want to use it on the G3.
I rooted the phone and installed bump as I believed this was the only way to install TWRP on this device. However I realised i could only installed Bump'd ROMS . I therefore put it back to stock as I want to use the official install. How do I go about installing this? I may have the wrong end of the stick. Any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.
I am sorry if I am asking a daft question, this is all new to me, please help
Thanks
Root via Purpledrake > Install TWRP via Bump! method > Install CM12 .zip
That's the only way, and the good way. Google on how to install TWRP via Bump!. Links are seriously right here on XDA. Bump! in in the OG Dev section with a very clear explanation.

Thanks for your reply. I managed to root and install bump and I then tried the install from the CyanogenMod website which didn't work. This is where I am struggling. I wanted to use the official install.

Get your .zip file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-official-nightly-t2995524
Nightly information can be found on here: http://www.cmxlog.com/12/d855/
Idk what you mean by official install, the zip in the thread is official.

Flashify.. God.. If you're using flashifhy and something happens, you're on your own. Only an idiot who is incompetent of using a few adb commands use spoonfed programs like Flashifhy. I never, and especially to newbies, suggest the use of Flashify.
Please OP, for the sake of solving your own problems: stay 10 foot away from programs like Flashify.

Dude are we talking about the same Flashify? It works perfectly for flashing and backup/restore of recovery`s and kernels in .img format. Can`t imagine users having issues with it unless unless for the incompetent idiots you we`re refering to
At my friend's G3. I suggest to flash it with Flashify and He hadn't got any problem. It's easier for newbies flashify, OP you can go for it
Hello, I have the T-Mobile LG G3 D851 and I've been trying to find the best configuration. I came from a Nexus 5 that I would either run stock 5.x or CM 12. The CM12 for LG G3 is great but it doesn't have a good camera.
Anyway, I've come to enjoy the stock firmware that LG puts on these phones. So here's what I want to accomplish, however I feel I cannot find enough information to do it confidently.
I would like the have TWRP installed with Stock Lollipop 20b, with root.
Can I just bump a TWRP image and use flashify or something to flash it? or dd?
I installed the 20b KDZ and rooted using the one click method, and that's how my phone sits currently.
From what I understand I need to downgrade to do something with the boot.img so that I can manually flash 20b with a bumped recovery? I'm not sure what bump really is entirely. Do I need to bump all TWRP images that I install? If bump is required for the G3, do they not come pre bumped?
I know that my first go around, I had flashed TWRP with flashify, then installed CM12 without any issues. So I'm wondering if this is just for stock ROMs or did they do something to the boot in 20b that would stop anything from installing without being bump'd?
I also noticed most of the bump'd threads don't list the d851 so I'm wondering if T-Mobile doesn't require this?
Keep in mind I've searched and read extensively and cannot come up with a clear picture of what to do. I've become too used to Nexus devices it seems :-\

D851 has unlocked bootloader. You don't need bump. Just flash twrp via trwo manager or get the inage and use flashify.

Did you use lollipop auto-rec to install TWRP. Which will put the proper boot loader, and download with kernel. Then you go to TWRP and install radio and ROM after a wipe.
I believe someone said it came back with a firmware issue. But I will have to tot, back and verify.

Cm12 is based on jellybean boot loader.
Lollipop boot loader is on stock.
KitKat is for those on custom stock based pure lollipop code.
I'm hoping I can verify something as to if only lollipop Roms can use the new auto-rec due to something in coding or something else.

i jave ls980 with twrp recovery installed....and i m ron rooted stock zvc...
also help in this scnerio can i install zvg through terp recovery
Since I already have to be on ZVG and rooted in order to install this... what is the purpose of installing the Full version of this? wouldn't it just get me what I already have?
Good question, I believe it was in the thought that we could jump from zvc, zvd, or zve into it. But firmware, seems to be an issue. Upgraded firmware breaks coming from a different version.
i can't root my stock zvg
i installed stock zvg with adb sideload. but i can't root it! this root method is stucking at %90. is there any root method except this?

Have you tried the non graphic version 1.2.
Stuck at initial boot
For some reason I can't seem to boot for the first time after flashing. I am stuck on the LG logo waited around half a hour and got nothing.
Tried Re-Flashing it from recovery, doesn't seem to work.
Before flashing this, I TOT'ed back to ZVE, took OTA, Rooted with LG One Click Root, got TWRP installed with AutoRec (the Lollipop one) and sim unlocked with http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...click-tool-sim-unlock-network-manual-t3114446
Luckily I backed up my stock ZVG ROM. Any clues on what to do?

Hi, guys can you tell'me if i can flash this rom over my custom rom lollipop actually a have VK 5.0.2 but i want flash this rom, can do that?
Hello everyone. I have been all over the web and especially in this forum reading up for weeks about rooting and TWRP Recovery for my brand new Sprint LS980 (Best Buy $150 plus tax!) that I updated to ZVE via OTA. I'm still a bit confused. Information is all over the place and varies. For rooting, there seems to be at least three ways from what I understand. The first is Stump Root, then there is LG One Click Root, and finally DP Tools. Which of these is best? I just want to keep the stock ZVE (Odexed) and be able to have TWRP for backup purposes. I may run the stock ZVG update in the future when it becomes available as a ROM to flash thru TWRP.
That leads me to more confusion. There seems to be two editions of TWRP available with various version updates for each. The original TWRP Recovery from Team Win and then Blastagator's modded TWRP Recovery with Thermal Control and F2FS. Which one of these two editions and WHICH VERSION UPDATE is best for my Sprint LS980 on ZVE? Do I need to worry about my phone heating up and melting from using it with the original TWRP? Please remember that I just want to keep it stock ZVE for now and maybe run the stock ZVG in the future. What is the best way to install the right TWRP for me after root?
I ask all of these questions because I read here and there about overheating issues and possible damaged screens from the original TWRP. I also read here and there about TWRP not working with ZVE unless downgrading the bootloader to ZV8 and/or the radio (modem) as well . I need Knock On/Off to work and there are many reporting it not working after rooting and TWRP. Can someone please clear this up for me? Thanks in advance.
If your on zve and want to stay on that. Then root with stump root. Then install autorec for kitkat. I suggest flashing dorimanx Kernal knock on n off works, and b there will be no wedgie line issues and no b overheating. Good luck

Thanks jcsheriff, but after some more research, I actually found the best way was to use Stump Root and then use Flashify to install blastagator's TWRP mod. This is what I did and it worked amazing and very easy (less than 10 minutes) on my Sprint G2 with no computer needed. All stock with no modifications and no issues at all!
The best way to root and install the latest TWRP for Sprint LS980 on ZVE (KitKat) with no issues is this. Easiest and fastest way and as simple as 1, 2, 3! So that all can understand this clearly if they need it, see below:
1. Root the stock Sprint LS980ZVE (KitKat) with Stump Root from here:

If you need instructions, read this:

2. Use Flashify from Play Store to install blastagator's latest recovery.img from here:

3. Smile and enjoy the happiness!

Thanks for your guide.
I did your way and it worked.
But I had to force root.
The easy way to install recovery is with autorec for KK.
Worked realy fast and easy. But do not try to install twrp with autorec on other version.
I had my phone bricked by autorec.
Good luck
anyone know if loki works on ZVE
