I am using an unlocked ATT Note 2 on T-Mobile. I have great 4G! Coverage and Wifi works but the cellular signal hangs at one bar to 0 bars often going into emergency call only mode. After a while the signal will go back up to on or two bars and I get service again. What control's the cell phone signal (is it just an antenna or is it software based). I have flashed the original modem, the second upgraded modem and now I am on M6. The signal continues to do the excat same thing through each flash. I have tried different ROMS and the same thing occurs. I did not slight decrease in the jumps to "emergency call only" mode after upgrading to MK6. Are the an other things that I could try or should I have the internal antenna looked at?
The modem controls the cell signal!! The antenna is in the top right corner. Ya know some cases cuz signal problems!!
Could be a number of things causing the problem...[emoji43]
And you are on the same modem I'm using fyi... MK6
It's not Rom related that's for SURE!!!
Notice you stated another thread kinda pertaining to the same THING!![emoji102][emoji782]

Have a question on keeping wifi signal. I have a TMO Touch Pro 2 unlocked on ATT running Cell Pro v9.5.
I have a wifi network at home, phone see's it and I have gotten it to connect, but it won't hold onto the signal and keeps dropping off my list. I am running 3 laptops in different rooms in the house (including upstairs from router), but the phone won't hold the signal even if I am 2 feet from the router.
Is this a radio issue or is there something else I need to look at?
Thanks,
Jerry
Maybe you can post your radio version? I'm using wifi and I have no problems at all. Or you could change your power mode setting more to performance.
Guess that would have been helpful, I just upgraded the radio (had whatever the stock one was 3.something) and now have 4.48.25.20. I thought that might be it so I upgraded to one in the stickied thread that covered both ATT and T-Mobile.
After the update to the radio rom I am still having the same problems. On the old radio I tried the performance settings with no change.
I can get it to connect, but the signal is very low and I lose it right away.
Hi,
I have a GSN2 LTE 7105
i have noticed that the signal bars on the phone keep dropping to 1 bar now and again and it keeps randomly showing E 3g+ and H+. it keeps fluctuating between these.
What im trying to say is that its never stable and the signal bars keep going up n down more often than my iPhone.
Im on the o2 network
Has this got something to do with the way the phone is trying to connect to the 3g 3g+4g and Edge and GPRS signal?
There is no way to switch the 4g.
I have had about 6 notes and all of them suffered this issue.
Any ideas?
if you had 6 notes and all of them had this issue, so maybe it isnt fault of phone? i heard that if micro sim card was incorrectly scissored, it may give weaker signal. But i'm not 100% sure
Sounds like the issue is with your SIM or carrier.

Anyone have this issue??
Just got and activated my GS3 and its running the stock base-band L710VPBMD4 but having major issues holding any LTE service will usually hold steady on 3G and intermediately hold LTE service
And yes my area has a strong LTE presence so thats not the issue....
MD4 is the newest baseband, anything else would technically ve a downgrade. But people have luck with older basebands a lot.
Sprint could also be working on towers in your area.

Ugh I guess Im going to have to wait and see my area is blanketed with LTE live in one town work 35 miles aways (always LTEarea) and all day i have had no LTE
thought it might be from flashing CM10 but re-flashed and still no dice.....
Honestly, you could always just reflash md4, or go into your phones update area and update prl. Every single location is different with signal. So basically no one will have the exact same results. I live in a spot of town with clear view of the signal towers, with no obstructions, and I get 0 to 2 bars with 1x to 3g when less than 100 feet away you can get 5 bars and strong lte
Problem solved......
I was having two issues (1) Im an idiot..... (2) I should have specified that Im using my GS3 with ting because my problem was all PRL/Provisioning related so if anyone is somehow reading this and having the issue I had this was the file I used to get working data....I have not yet tested the MMS
Get a file manager (Root Browser for me) download the zip either unzip on your PC/MAC or drop it onto the SD take the apns-conf file and move it into the System/Etc/ folder and overwrite the existing file and reboot and you should be good
Tested with CM 10.2
I'm on virgin 3.1.2 and I'm still habit the same issues. When I turn my screen back on after letting the phone sit for an hour I start getting every notification that should have came in when the screen was off. My phone says im on mk2 modem but I still only have 2 bars of lte like like I had on MDL. Also my bootloader says write protection enabled, is this stopping me from. Getting my modem flashed correctly?

Flashing of MDL wont magically make your signal better. Might help with consistency and other things, but it won't make your bars go up. With the new TW update on 4.4.2 samsung has manipulated the signal to make it look better, but you're not actually getting a better LTE signal, it's just telling you the bars of your HSPA signal to make it look better. As far as the MK2 vs MDL modem, it wont make your LTE signal boost either, it will just make your signal not drop so often. Signal has more to do with the tower distance and type of frequency its using than software on the phone. Hope this clears a couple things up for ya.
I get good speeds, just always only shows 2 bars. Sometimes I will watch it go from lte to 4g then 3g then the signals dissappear and I lose all signal for a few seconds. Then it comes back to lte.
Not worried about it now , tmobile sent me a replacement phone and even on stock it has the same signal.

I don't think its showing the hspa signal, I've had 3 hspa phones in about as many years and the number of bars showing is not the same like my other phones.. I'm not saying they didn't manipulate it because I tested it and compared dBm signal strength when i first updated to KK and its the same as I've always gotten, it just reports higher bars, my s3 shows 3 bars, my s4 5 bars, both on hspa and same exact dBm signal

Depends on which HSPA signal it's reading. Sammy may have programmed it to read the 1900 signal rather than the 1700 signal which will report higher signal strength. I've compared the bars of one of the phones in the local store here in town, and the bars of the hspa coresponded with the dbm on the other phone when I forced it into wcdma only mode.
Anyone else on the ATT G4 having problems with LTE connectivity? In areas where I'd usually get 5 bars of LTE service, a majority of the time I get 2 or 3 bars of Edge service. Putting it into airplane mode and back out doesn't help, turning mobile data on and off doesn't help, and neither does removing the SIM card (and reseting the phone in the process). It seems to come and go whenever it wants to.

All I can guess is, it's probably just the ATT network itself. They did some upgrades around here a while once Cspire started hyping their fiber optic network and I noticed on my older phone that in areas where I used to get 3G I was stuck getting edge. Even with my G4 I can park in perfect view of a known ATT tower and it'll hit 4G and within a minute be down to 3G - same with strength. Get 5 bars, don't move, no data, no call, and it'll drop down to no bars but still connected and bounce around, usually settling at 2 or 3. Even though ATT says they have full LTE out here I rarely actually see the LTE logo display in the status bar.
I've been using OpenSignal to try to map out coverage areas though, been pretty handy in finding towers and chasing stronger signal
Hi sir
I m using lg g4 h810 AT&T it was working well one day i put a memory card in it signal disappear never came go to software and hardware experts but nobody has solved my problem all other functions of cell phone working properly
