Hi folks!
My ONE X (originall T-MOB101 from Germany) got stuck in Airplane Mode (Hardware Issue). HTC Egypt reapaired it. Unlocked it via htcdev, Custom Recovery, Root and then wanted to flash Firmware for latest ViperX. fastboot getvar cid: HTC_E35.... My Problem is know that i did not find anything about this CID Number. Softwareversion is 3.16.415.4 (hboot 1.39)
Is there a solution? Could i flash the firmware package for HTC_J15 (same Software Version) or will this and with a bricked One X? I am not a dev but also not a noob (flashing since my first HTC Desire)
Your hboot is already the latest. You don't need new firmware.
Now just flash viperx!!!

Hi,
I tryed to Update my phone with original rom trought the phone. First try and it tells me trath there is a error (Status 7). Then i found a way how to skip this error (with deleting of the assets from script file) and install it. And after that my fight with the phone starts. After the install the OS start reboot continuesly. Somehow i flash the boot.img and start Philz Touch 5 Recovery system. After that flash the ROM with Cyanogen. First i got the same Error (Status 7) and once again fix it. Then install it and the phone starts. But after 30 seconds is freeze and can't do anything, only restart. The HBOOT version is 0.95. I thin that maybe this error (Status 7) comes with any reason, and maybe this becomes from wrong ROM.
Please if someone could help! The phone is not mine and i didn't fix it should pay it . If you need any other info just send me a message.
Thank you in advance!
Your hboot is WAY too low....you need at least for all latest roms 1.3x ...lol how the hell and why are you still on 0.95

Was downloading ARHD but downloaded the wrong one for the One instead. I unknowingly flashed the kernel for the One and ended up bricking my device (fastboot commands don't work). Is there a way to unbrick it?
Sure you applied the Fastboot commands correctly ?
Does Fastboot devices give any return ?
Try to do the factory reset over fastboot..and reboot...

Try to change with a firmware the hboot to a lower one...but normally without the right hbooy it won't work...especially because its way too high ...but tty what thant suggested...if not locked or relocked relock bootloader and try again

If you indeed have s-off and supercid you can run a 2.17 based ruu. That's 4.0.4. The ruu will downgrade the hboot.
I have an unlocked crimson Red M8, but its ROM is O2 UK (CID: O2_001) and Im wanting to make it an Unbranded UK M8, which I believe
the CID is: HTC_001.
O2s software is: 2.22.206.4.
As this is my daily driver for work, Im wanting to stay 100% stock
Am I ok with the OTA file found in the "M8 Updates" thread on pg 87 from EddyOS, or should I find the original 1.54 exe and OTA from there.
When I S-OFF and SuperCID.. should I change the CID to 1111111 or change it to HTC_001, which is compatible with the rom
Thanks.
Hi!
First there is only one SuperCID, which is 1111111. If you'd like to convert your M8 to a free European - meaning WWE - version, you could go for HTC__001, restore the latest 2.22.401.5 Backup (will find it here I guess), as well as the corresponding 2.22.401.5 firmware.
As there is no RUU, you have to do it manually, using adb/fastboot for it. The steps would be: go S-Off (e.g. using SunShine as it also unlocks the bootloader during its work), change CID, flash custom recovery, restore the above mentioned backup and finally flash as well mentioned stock firmware.

Thanks for the quick reply and the helpful instructions.. Im new to this so can I ask... why would I need to use a custom recovery if Im replacing a stock rom/recovery with another stock rom/recovery.. I thought I just:
S-off, SCid, unlock Bootloader > Copy 401.05 zip file to SD card, goto fastboot > Flash from SD
or is that wrong
DIT:
So you mean flashing the rom then the firmwaree as 2 seperate files.. So I take it an RUU is everythinbg in 1 file.... from what I can tell friend.. O2 have already installed the firmware side of 443, which is the same for everyone, its only the software side of 443 that O2 have changed an i want rid of.
thanks

Yoda is talking about flashing a nandroid of the OS version you want, which is the safer method. There is a collection of such nandroids made by users here.
What you are suggesting is very risky. Applying an OTA from one carrier when a different carrier software version is present on the device is a brick risk.
You can't flash the ROM including the firmware, as there is no RUU (no *.exe as formerly). Thus you got to be S-Off, flash a custom recovery and restore one of the backups you'll find on this forums. To do the restore you'll need the same custom recovery, as was used to backup the ROM.
But as a custom recovery doesn't backup the firmware you will have to flash this one afterwards. And to do this you got to be S-Off, as otherwise you could encounter errors.

Let alone TWRP and this backup will not do!
If you want to convert your M8 and thus run WWE ROM and firmware you got to be S-Off and change the CID as well. Otherwise you won't be able to flash the corresponding firmware, that fits the backup you've chosen. In addition you won't be able to perform OTAs for this ROM, as long as CID and firmware doesn't match it.
For a start TWRP and the backup by @ckpv5 are a very good choice

Thanks for the reply.. I havent started yet but Should I do these steps..
Follow this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuHFcGvUjwA&feature=youtu.be
Then Follow this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--Hlms1BuPg&feature=youtu.be
So I:
1) ROOT 2 ) Unlock Bootloader 3)S-Off (with Sunshine) 4) SuperCID HTC_001 5) Copy the Nandroid to SDCard Root 6)Go into TWRP and Restore Backup 7)Flash stock recovery .. Is that right
I would run sunshine first, as it will not only s-off, but also unlock your boot loader. Since you don't need root to complete the rest of the steps, you can save it until the end (if you want root)
