[Q] Stuck at 57

So I saw you can update your G2 to Jellybean if you downgrade and then use that to root and flash the newer rom. I started with the standard guide, did the temp root thing, uploaded the files and then rebooted into an updater which failed to work. However the guide said if it fails you can do the following
fastboot oem rebootRUU
and then
fastboot flash zip PC10IMG.zip
It said if the first attempt fails, run it again and it will finish. However mine, for what ever reason, gets to 57% and stops. I left it alone for over an hour, still 57%. Here is how it looks after i unplug the phone.

Am i doing something wrong, is my phone f**ked, or can i flash back to the most recent official firmware so i can at least use the phone?

Maybe its a slow week or i asked something someone covered, if so, just point me to that thread. I've been searching for 2 days now and can never find anything.

Are you able to access the Bootloader ??
(Remove battery & reinsert---> then volume down + Power on)

I have a problem to flash the firmware update from 3.28.401.6 to 3.28.401.7. flash passes but for some reason does not change the firmware version to .7 It remains .6 Should I flash before the old firmware 2.22.401.5 and then again try to flash the new 7?

You don't need it.
The .7 update was just an incremental update to fix some kind of problem on networks in Croatia. Otherwise, it's the same firmware.

i'm s-off and i have super cid 11111111.
after update of firmware to 3.28.401.7 i checked "fastboot getvar all" and the os version still 3.28.401.6 i don't understand why?

Help need, M8 won't boot up...

Evening,
My M8 won't boot up it gets stuck in the HTC screen.
I wanted to update my phone to be using the latest ARHD version. It's been a while since i did that.
First of all i've update recovery, that went ok. After that i've decided to flash firmware (3.28.401.7.zip) twice, that went ok as well.
But then i had to reboot my phone, and it gets stuck. I have no clue what i've done wrong. I've done this process before and there were no issues back then.
My CID and MID are correct according to the firmware i've flashed.
I am still able to reboot my phone with power button + volume up, and get into the bootloader that way. I can't get into Recovery as well, when i try to start Recovery i get the red triangle with the ! in the middle.

That's weird dude. I've done a few firmware flashes, and have never had to reflash recovery.
No reason to feel dumb. I would feel a little perplexed if anything. At least it is fixed. :good:

If you look in sneakyghost's FUU thread you'll find both wipe and no wipe zips... The differences are stated there, but to sum up the most relevant here: wipe version deletes recovery and you have to flash custom one again; with no wipe version current recovery is kept, and so no need to flash it again

Yes. Of course. This is what happens when I offer help after drinking a few beers.
I've always used firmware with TWRP included. Not so weird after all.

urgent help required please

hi everyone,
iv'e or the past few days to get the OTA 5.1 update to my rooted M9 on EE UK. I remember on my old M7 that I could just install the recovery file that I saved and the update would happen ,
anyway I was trying to get the recovery file for my phone ( 1.32.61.15 ) and someone gave me the file , I put the file on my phone and tried to install the image with TWRP anyway instead of installing it as a revevery file I installed it as a boot file . now my phone only boots to bootloader etc won't do anything . can anybody help please

i downloaded the file that you gave me the like to , i saw the recovery file inside and installed it with TWRP i downloaded the update form EE and went to install the file .i got black screen with a picture of a phone and the green progress bar got to about 25% and the phone just turned off and went onto a black screen with red writing with download moad , bootloader mode power down , reboot etc.anyway i tried to install the recovery image with TWRP again and by accident instead of flashing the file to recovery i flashed it to Boot. so now the phone dosen't boot up correctly and goes onto a black screen that i typed about earlier . hope you can help

Who said anything about flashing anything with TWRP ?
rename the RUU.zip to 0PJAIMG.ZIP, place it on a ext sd card formatted in FAT32 (a 16 or 32gig one should work), reboot into DOWNLOAD_MODE, agree and it should flash.
or
If you have problems with the normal fastboot flashing any RUU you'll have to use the htc_fastboot pulled from the RUU.EXE

The first step is to get adb and fastboot setup on your PC and working HTC drivers

and the drivers are here > http://www.mediafire.com/download/j55vk6qbbr6250c/HTCDriver_4.8.0.002.exe
then drop the htc_fastboot and RUU.zip in the folder with adb. then boot your phone to download mode and use the commands I posted above

adb devices - returns your devices serial number, not to be shared on public forums

i get to the point of ( list of devices attached ) but nothing happens

Hello Friends.
my HTC ONE M8 (M8_UL) originally had the OS KitKat 4.4.4. I update the GPE cm-12.1-20150901-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO23A-m8. The phone worked well a couple of months, then suddenly stopped working.
Then try to repair installing the firmware sense of KitKat, but after this attempt the recovery stopped working. Currently you install a firmware GPE again, but the phone is still not working. The custon recovery not working.
If I restart the phone, the HTC logo appears and the phone is turned off.
If the logo appears on HTC bootloader recovery selected and the phone is turned off.
These are the solutions I've tried:
1) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (recovery.img = OpenRecovery-TWRP-2.7.0.1-m8.img, OpenRecovery-TWRP-2.7.1.0-m8.img, OpenRecovery-TWRP-2.8.5.0-m8.img).
2) fastboot flash boot boot.img (boot.img = boot.img Extracted to ATT444firmware.zip, or UCP-HTC_One_ (M8) _GPe_Marshmallow-6.0_MRA58K.H6_5.07.1700.6_0p6bdiag.zip)
3) relocked fastboot and install RUU_M8[email protected]50319A_40.45.C33065.00_F_release_446225_signed_2.exe
Nothing has worked. I still recovery. I try turns off so soon.

What firmware, where did you get it and what is the file name and version number?
What happened when you flashed it, what was the result and what were the error messages?

If you didn't get a working Sense ROM on the phone in the first place, flashing the boot.img won't help anything.

Relocking bootloader is not required to RUU when s-off; and its not recommended. It doesn't help anything, and will hamper or needlessly complicate recovery efforts.
Again, what were the specific details of the results of running the RUU? How did the phone react, what did the RUU do, error messages, etc.

The RUU instalation is normal, no errors appear.

The Sense firmware definitely did not install correctly. Otherwise, you would have a white bootloader screen to match the Sense firmware.
Also, 4.16.401 is Euro firmware, not AT&T. If its signed firmware, it won't flash with the wrong CID and MID on the device. But I can't tell what you are trying to flash, exactly; since I asked where you got the firmware from, and you never answered.
I would suggest running a GPE RUU (especially if the intent is to stay on GPE). Otherwise try to flash one of the AT&T firmwares included on the following, then try the AT&T RUU again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/development/att-4-4-3-2-22-1540-3-debloated-sense-6-t2837365

When i want to enter in recovery mode (TWRP), the phone turns off.
Please you see the video in youtube with this title "M8 AT&T, boot loop, recovery doesn't work. HBOOT work fine V2"

step 1 well i reflash the gpe rooted rom
step 2 i change his mid to dev edtion one
step 3 change his cid to super cid
step 4 i flash 1.54.401.5-W_Splash and let him wipe data and cache in stock recovery
step 5 change his cid to dev
step 6 ran dev ruu the lateset

What I suggested, was to flash the firmware, (don't install TWRP) then try a Sense AT&T RUU.

I can not turn on the cellphone. I can not input in boot loader mode. I probe vol up + vol down + power buttom per 2 min. What things I can do?

What's with the PMs and TeamViewer?
That's not the way things are done on XDA.
Help him in this thread with instructions, so that others that might have the same issue can find the solution by searching.
I believe this has already been mentioned to you in the past, and that you agreed to stop posting "PM & TeamViewer"
