[Q] audio/media issue with custom roms - Paranoid Android Q&A

I just installed PA on my sprint lg g2 and I followed the instructions perfectly, but it doesn't allow me to hear any type of sounds or watch videos. This is the fourth ROM I've tried and this keeps happening. Does anybody know how to fix this?

If it's happening in several roms wouldn't it be more beneficial to post your issue in the G2 forums?
The G2 is not an officially supported device for Paranoid Android so there are likely fewer people here running one.

That actually makes sense, sorry, my first post

[Q] HTC Evo 4g on Sprint help please!

Okay its have had a HTC Evo for about 2 weeks. I had one a few months ago until I moved out of the country. I used the hd2 on android using dandiest and freaks desires z rom. It looked amazing and I miss it very much. My question is, is there a rom for the Evo similar to that that works just as well? If so where can I find it?
Second question: has anyone been experiencing random restarts with the ota 2.3.3 android? I haven't rooted or done anything to my Evo yet and I'm experiencing this. Please help or send an email to me.
Thanks!
Firstly, there is no root available for the latest OTA update, so flashing custom roms is not an option for you now. As far was which rom goes, just keep an eye out in the development section. New roms based off of the recent OTA should start popping up soon.
Thanks for the info man. On the second part of my post I talked about it randomly resetting. Do you know anything about that?

Naw, man. I've been running the Synergy rom that is 2.3.3 based for the past 2 days without any issues, but the only time I had a stock rom was when I first got my phone back in June of last year. I don't know anything about the latest OTA because I haven't even seen it.

As far as random reboots the best thing to do is just reset phone from stock or clear all data on of the apps you have must not be agreeing with gingerbread so do that or update all of your apps from the app store.

Callers hearing echo of themselves when calling me Galaxy S3 CM10 Nightly

On the recent nightlies of CM10, people who called me said they were hearing an echo of themselves as they spoke. I reverted back to CM 10 form 08/15/12 and it has gone away. I was using CM 10 nightly from 08/24/12. Has any one else experienced this? I did also turn off the voice suppression but it still continued creating the echo. Do someone have a solution to this?
This is a universal issue. I'm on Verizon and there is lots of talk about this going on.. No fix yet. Seems to affect the builds after the first couple. Some have it some don't. Mine.. Comes and goes.. Annoys the mess out of my wife when I call her. Cyanogen stated back on 8/20 that he had a patch coming, but at this point nothing yet..
Some people are stating that the echo is probably a result of a defective phone. I really don't think so. If I flash cm 10 08/15 there is no echo, any latter rom gives me echo. I think it is some software glitch. someone needs to check what changed from cm 10 08/15 to the next update, which was cm10 08/18.
The 8/31 nightly has a fix. The S3 has an audio canceling chip it uses to detect yourself and cancel out so the echo isn't heard. It is currently not supported but they added support in the 8/31 build which should fix this issue.
I see that on the cm10-log. I can't wait till 08/31!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
I'm on stock rooted. It happens once in awhile. It has to do with cdma...not the phone. People on verizon will attest to this.

I can confirm this was fixed in nightly 31.

Problem still present on my tmobile s3 even with factor reset and 8/31 flash stock kernel :/
i too can confirmed this was fixed in 8/31 nightly. also, OP, why didn't you just search the cm10 thread for "echo" instead of starting a new thread about something that's already discussed in detail in the cm10 thread?

I did search for one but did not find one so I decided to just create one. Apologies if I stepped on anybody's toes.
This is not just on the S3. The S2 have this issue too. And not just the European version but all of em. Is the way Samsuck ****s with their phones.

[Q] Will the Cyanogen Mod V10 work with my Cricket Wireless HTC One V

I just got an HTC one v from Cricket Wireless and through a bit of patience (which i need badly ) Was able to root it with an AIO kit (Props to the dev of that kit.)
I Recently read that this phone won't be getting Android 4.1 or 4.2 .
I'm wondering (and this is why I posted in general. What roms would be awesome for this little phone and well...I've been all over the net and I'm curious as to "What's cool?"
Would Cyanogen Mod work with this phone?
Would I lose any services (Talk, Text, Data)
I'm aware of the possibility but what are the steps I can take to prevent it/recover from one (if it happens)
I do believe I have the original RUU from another website. and the android SDK on this computer.
I will probably have millions more questions and I am going through the forums, but, I'm interested in hearing what's up. I'm also new here.
Welcome! If I'm not mistaken Cricket Wireless is no sir right{CDMA}? You might want to check out the HTC Cmda thread. However most of the CDMA roms are for Virgin Mobile.

Thanks for the welcome
I believe this phone is PRIMO C according to what I've read. Yes, CDMA
Android Ver: 4.0.3
I recently did a TWRP backup (2 hrs ago) with Ver 2.3.3.0
I'm also reading about Slim Bean.
I would like to have the latest os on this phone, eliminate a good percentage of the crap this phone came with (from Cricket) and have a good time. Yes I know it won't run games very well...but the rest is fantastic.
OK Great! Unfortunately some of the roms like Slim Bean have a bug that Forces a reboot randomly. Usually when unlocking your screen. Another problem is that these roms are usually made for Virgin Mobile and that you'll have to modify them for your network. There is a thread that shows this I believe. I would suggest Rhythmic Rom. It's based on CM10 and doesn't have the reboot bug.

I think I saw a thread on how to modify a rom to match a service provider. Like a text file or something like that. (Best comparison I can make is modifying the morrowind.ini (for the PC Game Morrowind) file to use a specific sound) So I shouldn't have a problem there. (Just found that thread think it's this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120559&highlight=cricket)
Rhythmic Rom...I did read a thread about that last night. I think the guy's in the process of trying to solve a bug with the phone's 5mp camera not working and video recording crashes. It looks like a good rom. I might want to try to test this rom out on an emulator (if possible)
If I remember CM10 is based off of Jelly Bean, an OS I'd love to have on this phone.
While I'm at it. I'd like to say thanks for your help so far, and thanks to anybody else who jumps into this thread. This is the first time in a while that I feel like a proper n00b at something.
:highfive:

Stock Android?

Long shot here, but is there a stock android either Lollipop or Marshmallow (way unlikely) that I can flash to this device once it is S-Off?
Nope. Closest you would get would be CM, but the camera is not fully functional yet and I don't know if it supports advanced calling on Verizon either.

Neo, thanks for pointing that out. However, I was referring to stock android along the lines on what you would find on Nexus Devices. On my One M8, I was able to flash stock android like was found on the google play edition. I couldn't quite tell whether the link you posted when I first browsed it yesterday was bone stock, or was still customized by HTC (HTC dialer, HTC help, HTC clock, etc).

Oh, so you're looking for a form of AOSP then ie: vanilla android os with no sense gui or other gui.
As the previous member stated, we have it, we can build it, but for now the camera is broken and wake gestures don't look to be working. Everything else appears to work ok. Actually, CM recently just pushed some changes to the device which might fix camera. I or flyhalf may put a build together and try it out soon.
The link I posted just now is the stock factory shipped sense rom (most updated).
Thanks Neo for your effort in attempting to put that together, I look forward to it!

Neo,
Sorry to revive this relatively old thread. CM has nightlies for the GSM M9 (himaul). From the bits and pieces that I've found around XDA and the web in general, it seems like it's working well with the potential exception of some bluetooth issues (which I don't really care all that much about right now). It's not built to run on the Verizon m9 though.
I know there's CandyRom, which is based on CM, but I'm looking for as close to AOSP as possible. Sense is actually okay, but I don't want any of the VZ specific stuff that's found on the stock ROMS I've seen. I know I can disable >>most<< of it, but definitely not all.
Is there general guidance out there on how to build CM from the himaul source, but make it compatible with the m9 himawl (verizon)? Any other suggestions for vanilla-ish ROMs?
The m8 version was compatible with all and worked well. Don't know why the m9 version isn't Verizon compatible (yet?).
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving.

[Discussion] New to Android, Thanks XDA Community! No Audio on call or phone app.

Firstly, Thank you XDA community for helping me with my new first android device.
Secondly, I would love to thanks the developer who worked on really awesome custom ROMS for the devices, they worked really flawless.
Now my Question is: Is it only me or anyone else having problem with tmobile variant device, that have no audio and mic on phone app and in-call.
It only happens with custom ROMS. I did search for solution, before posting this thread.
I came up with two zip files under the name audio fix for tmobile on 7.0 OS. But those didn’t work. instead one of the zip caused boot loop. SO, that being said, is there an ANGEL!!!! to help me with this problem. I really want to use custom ROMs or atleast cleanest / lightest STOCKED ROM.... thank you in advance for reading and responding to my thread.

Your not the only one having this issue. Apparently the call libraries (or something like that) are different for T-Mobile variants of the s6 edge plus. I ran into the same issue when I first got this phone. What you need to do is look for custom ROMs who offer explicit support for SM-G928T. I started a thread on the issue a few months ago. On there I put a list of ROMs that have working call audio with no add ons. Feel free to check it out if you'd like.
