Hi,
My screen turns off after about 30 seconds when I watch Youtube or a Plex video. Do you know how I can fix this problem? Thank you.

a free app called Screebl from the play store will. You can set it so that anytime the device is not flat, the screen will stay on.
I have used it for at least 5 years!
I use mimimum timeout setting and when I lay the phone flat on a desk, or table, the screen goes off in about 5 seconds!
great way to save the battery time....
Good Luck and Aloha!
Thanks for the reply. I just downloaded the app and check it out.

Hi guys, I'm having a problem with my xperia play when trying to record conferences.
My camera stops after 10 minutes of recording everytime, it even shows the timer backwards when it's the last minute, I was wondering if there is any way to lift this limitation.
I'm currently using the default camera application that comes with 2.3.4 North America generic ROM.
I got a 12GB memory card with around 3.2GB free and the video files take up to 400mb per 10 minutes, so the space shouldn't be a problem here.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Maybe your phones is going to sleep?
Have you tried disabling sleep timeout?

Hmm I wasn't aware that the phone had a sleep option, I can't seem to find it. Only time outs I could find if the screen display which is set to 30 seconds, so I guess that's not it.
Where can I find the options to disable the phone from sleeping?
Thanks.
Actually thats probably what I was thinking.
One thing you could try, when it gets close to 10 minutes, push a button on your phone, nothing to make it stop recording, maybe the settings button, just something to make sure it isn't a problem like this.

I did that and the phone responded perfectly, even changed some options while recording but it still stops at 10 minutes. The strange thing is when it gets to minute nine the counter changes backwards to count 1 minute in red numbers then it stops recording.
Maybe try a different phone app?

First off let me say Hands Free Mode is turned off. On two occasions now I driven home from work and see I've missed a call. The log shows it was only within the last 10 minutes and it takes 25 minutes to get home. Now I know the phone will ring. Played phone tag yesterday with my boss. No one I work with has an S4 so I don't know if this is a big issue but my wife has one and she seems to be having the same issue. I'd love any suggestions as to what might be going on.

Possible deadzone on the route you take to and from work? Are you rooted? What modem/baseband are you on?

No at the time I wasn't rooted. Stock everything. And there's no deadzone. That would suck. Thanks for the reply. I've since rooted the phone and done some stuff with greenify but still waiting for a phone call while driving to see if it's still a problem.
This actually happens to me all the time when I drive. I found that turning down the volume of my cars music that's blasting helps tremendously. After doing that my phone suddenly started "ringing" again.

There have been numerous times where I wanted to keep an app open for an extended period but every time the watch sleeps it goes back to the watch face.
I know it's still early in the game but is anyone else wanting a way to keep your currently active app open through sleep so you didn't have to keep reopening the app?
yes was trying to use my grocery list on keep the other day from my watch and had this issue....

Are you talking about Google Keep app? I just used it at Costco today for about 30 minutes and it stayed open on the watch until I swiped it closed. I thought it was pretty cool.
Yeah my screen would go black and when I reactivated it, it would be on the watchface, not keep.

Just got back from the grocery store, Keep stayed on the whole time. If I think of anything to help I'll post it. This is a really handy feature.
I am looking for something like this for other apps not grocery...is this something that work globally?
On my rooted Gear was able to use Xposed to set RunKeeper to stay on...or like the Gear if I could raise my wrist to see last screen would be nice

In Settings Tap About Phone then tap Build Number about 7 times. Can't remember the exact number of times. Dev options will be added.

7 is the correct number.
So let me know if you have the same issue... No matter how long I set my screen off time for, it always goes go sleep after 10 seconds!
Don't have that issue here. ATT version
I do not have that issue either (AT&T). Perhaps there is an email account or other "administrator" that requires a short screen timeout? I have seen that before.

Are you talking about the main screen or the active display when the actual screen goes off?

The main screen. I turned moto display off and it still happens
I ever tried rebooting into safe mode and same problem.. Going to try a factory reset later
My motoz2 is doing this same thing. And it is frustrating. (Verizon). Have you figured out how to fix this?
Do you have adaptive brightness turned on?

So I did a master reset and didn't connect my tumi battery until the play store updated the moto mod app to the newest version.. No more screen issue! I highly recommend anyone who gets this phone, update the app first before you attach any type of mod.
