I've searched the forums and tried many different options for hours !!
So , I bought an Xperia S on an auction for fairly cheap.
Went home , wanted to enjoy my new smartphone but when I connected it to the wall charger I got a solid red light.(Instantly)
Never had a Xperia before so didn't know this was a problem , after few hours I disconnected it and connected it to my pc.
Still solid red light but now after a few minutes it would go away. Then after hours of searching I tried some methods.
So when it was connected to my pc and the red light would go away , I pressed Vol + & Power , I got a few red flashes and after that 1 buzz and after 3 buzzes.
After the 3 buzzes I released all buttons and the led would be off. Tried it again then , still no led , after a few times the led just turned solid red again.
Got myself flashtool and stock tft File.
Now this tricked worked for me so far , to get it in flashmode , I removed the battery ( Btw also tried to jump start it with a cut usb chord, got little response from it ) and after
I would put it back and apply the rubber band to the Vol - button. After then connecting the usb it would give me a solid red again but after like 10 mins it becomes green.
With flashtool set up , I did this trick and was able to flash the phone to stock.
From what I've read , you should then plug it out of your pc , press the power button once ( it would vibrate once ,but gives no response after that ) and then plug it into a wall charger.
Now I did that and this time it took a few seconds for the led time to turn red . I went to sleep , and when i woke up the led was off , till now it is.
Ow , I never got a sony logo or a charging logo. Only time I saw something ( Little white light ) on the screen is after I jumpstarted/charged my battery with cut off usb chord.
Few questions,
Should I let it sit in the charger now , and for how long ? And what am I waiting for , the solid red to come back again or ?
Is it possible that there's some hardware malfunction , cause I seem to get leds and response from resetting. In other words , is my phone still safeable?
Should I try to get a new battery or will the same problem persist with it?
I'm not far away from throwing it out the window , but I still believe in this little fella

Hi...I had a very similar problem with my Xperia T. Tried everything I possibly could to get the phone going, with no success. So I bought a new battery.Put it on the charger for a few hours and used Sony Update Service to repair my Xperia T. Than put it on the charger and finally after a few minutes my charging light for the first time in months went from red to orange to green.
So I would purchase a battery before you give up. You can get them very cheap on Ebay. It's at least worth a shot for the cheap price. Good Luck.
Red Led hmm
Download drivers for Xperia S
download flashtool (done)
download stock FTF (6.2.B.1.96 i think)
hold volume up and power untill it buzzed 3 times
(dont have plugged in)
use flashtool to flash the FTF you have downloaded (google)
(flashmode is volume down while plugging into PC)
also ensure the wipe data cache and dalvik options are all ticked (if there then tick it)
once its done flashing (it should say) unplug it and hold power to turn on
if this does not work you have a hardware fault with the device any you need to send to a sony repair centre

Hi , thanks for the response , but I did all this , except that i can't hold down volume up and power without plugging in.
I got the phone from an auction , so I'm thinking that it probably had been laying there for quite the time. It was also an auction for stuff that wasn't picked up from the lost & found of the airport. That only increases the chance I think , that the battery just died.
I think i'm gonna make this final offer and buy an official sony battery for my device.
If this will not work , I'll give up , and I can't take it to a Sony Repair Centre cause I don't have any kind of ticket ,
and I bet it will cost more then instead of buying a new phone.
Let's hope for this battery to work :good::good::good:
I'll keep posted here about what happend then for other people with the same issue

Hey
My phone stopped working.
A few weeks ago it suddenly didnt turn on anymore
The evening before i put it in charge coz it only had 6% left.
The next morning it didnt do anything
no led light, didnt turn on.
When i try to boot fastboot mode, the light doesnt turn on. when i put it in charger, the light doesnt turn on, my computer doesnt recognize it.
i tought lost case, its dead.
but this morning i tried to turn it on one time, it didnt work. i put it on my desk. i accidently wiped the phone off my desk, it turned on.
It showed Sony Ericsson logo, as im used to, the screen lights up very bright for a second, normaly the key lights and the led should turn on, that didnt happen.
then it went to a black screen, and turned off after a few seconds.
after that it didnt turn on anymore
Maybe the worst part: coz my father is going to buy an iPhone 5, he wants to give me his 4
is there anything i can do? I no longer have warranty.
Have you tried removing the battery, pressing power, then letting it charge for a couple of minutes, and then try to turn it on? Maybe it's really completely empty.
You had anything custom in there?
Did you use the original charger?
As I can understand, phone does not go into flashmode (while turned off, back button and connect USB cable) or fastboot mode (same thing but menu button)?

Repair the firmware with PC Companion, or if you wish to take the advanced way - Flashtool.
Hi i know there are threads on this and ive read countless ones. i installed BlackZax'7 [The Next Level Begin] on my LT28AT running LT28H LT28h_6.2.B.0.211. everything was working fine after first reboot. call texts 4g lte everything was perfect i was extremely satisfied. then restarted once all my apps were downloaded and went to put cwm recover on it and boom i got bootloop.
Naturally i headed to the forums here on XDA to follow the tutorial to recover from bricked state. what happened was i got bootloop and held Power and Volume + to reset to go to download mode, felt 3 vibrations which from my understanding was a hard reset. i followed the tutorial which said to leave it plugged in until solid red light turns green. well when i plug it in i get the solid red light however no green led. every once and a while ill see the sony logo and starts to bootloop. held volume down to try to get to download mode but refuses to do soo........
after a while bootloop stops and goes to solid red led.....and repeats the same process after a while.
what do i do ive searched forums and some have said to take the battery out however unfortunately i dont own the right tool to get the plating off after the cover.
what should i do its my only phone.......
Any help or a way to fic would be life saving
Same problem here
Hello,
I have recently stumbled upon the same problem and am completely clueless of what to do.....did you find a solution for this without disassembly?
I think what makes sense is to let the phone sit for a couple of days till the battery drains out and to put on the charger then for a couple of days......
please do reply.
Thanks.

Yea I fixed it. What You have to do is let it die then have flashtool ready connect to pc to charge use a rubber band or hair tie to hold the volume down button pressed (You have to have pressed before the Sony logo appears the first time or you have to start over) if it works then you will come back to a fixed phone.
*you have to flash before first bootloop*
I used a hair tie to keep the volume down button pressed had flashtool waiting for download mode plugged into the pc to charge then after about 1-2 hours I saw my phone boot up. It takes time and patience but the rubber band trick worked like a charm

How long does it take to tie?....i left it sitting for about 30 hours i dont think the battery died completely because i tried flashing the tft with flashtool tying a piece of string on the volume down key,but it was boot looping again!
how long should i leave it for the battery to die....it took only 10 minutes for the mobile to charge after the 30 hrs period and it started boot looping without entring flash mode.....i even tried to flash a kernel through fastboot....no use...boot looping!!
PLEASE HELP!!!
You need to read the forum with more attention: it is all written up...
Start your flashtool and pick stock rom. Let the program unzip the files. When you get pop up to connect the phone, connect your fully disharged phone and leave it alone. It will start flashing automatically in about 15 min.
Hello All,
I had about 40% battery yesterday evening and in the morning I found phone turned off.
Tried to turn on - no luck.
Plug to the wall charger - a red light appeared and started blinking in a loop (3s red, 1s pause, 3s red etc.)
Tried with different charger - same as above.
Conected to laptop through USB - red light as normally when charging but no battery icon and scrren still black. Tried to turn on and blinking come back.
I left on charging for a while and tried hard reset (power button + volume up) - nothing.
Tried also a magic reset buttonnear the SIM card slot it vibrates 3 times but it didn't turn on
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Try to charge your phone using the wall charger for at least one full day. If that still doesn't work, try getting into fastboot mode(Vol up while inserting USB into PC), and check if you get a fastboot device. If so, try reflashing the stock via flashmode. If not, I think your battery is dead.
(I had an issue like that on my N4 once, but never on my X1C.)
Hello Jayc94,
If Max1220 tips doesn't work, just use the warranty.
I had the same issue as you, and i sent it back 3 times, using the warranty. As far as i remember, you don't have to pay anything.
My advice, when you get it back from the repair shop, in the package, you have an intervention report. Check exactly what they did. Follow their procedure to reboot your phone, and see what happens few days after.
For me, one week after they sent me back the phone, the same issue was happening again, until the 3rd time. At that time, intervention reports shows they changed battery and antenna, with some other stuff. Until now, i don't have any issue again..
I wih you good luck.

Hello, XDA, Good morning.
So i was using an LG G3 D850 as an access point for a hot spot while my internet was down for a bit, So i connected my PC to my phones WiFi Hot-spot right? K.
Now I had the phone running like this for quite some time, 2-4 hours roughly. During this time I must have used about 4-5 gigs of data on my phone (don't care about the data use  ) and nearing the end of my abuse on the phones internet use I noticed that the screen doesn't want to turn on, but the phone is still on AND routing the access point still.
Fine fine, so When i decided to wrap it up and shut er' down, i powered the phone off. Attempt to reboot the phone was laggy at best and lucky to actually reboot the phone a couple times in this state. I powered down after failing to boot up a few times pulled the battery then plugged USB in and I Got the normal screen that you would get (can't remember what it looked like) if you plugged into the USB w/o a battery in. Then after the standard battery failed to operate correctly I stupidly tried a different battery, which was 2,600 MAH / 3.8 V Li-ion battery / 9.88 Wh SAMSUNG battery, I know.... stupid.... ( LG battery : 3,000mAh / 3.8v Li-ion battery / 11.4Wh
Now after All this battery sh*t, the phone did boot up once or twice with the above battery, but that was it. Now when I plug USB into phone w/o the battery in I get the triangle with a question mark and a picture of a cell phone and USB cable going into it. Thats the only screen that shows up, except for the green/red/blue blinking notification light at the top left corner! PHONE IS RECOGNIZED in DEVICE MANAGER and ONLY when I power down , cable in PC , hold volume + , insert cable , hold Volume + for about 5-8 seconds til I hear computer sound beep then I let go and I get LGE Android MTP device , LGE Mobile USB Composite Device and LGE Mobile USB Serial Port So i have some connectivity but no screen display unless , plugged in w/o battery. I have tried flashing kdz file for sh*ts and giggles to see if it would do the trick but still the same.
Wheres the veterans at ! Thanks in advance , Cheers!
Forgot to mention , that, Even right now the phone is plugged in blank screen still but being charged and will blink twice every minute or more, green notification light , top left. ***
Actually it blinks automatically or if i press the power button it will blink twice as well. . . What does this mean?!
Is download mode working?

the good news the phone isn't bricked and it can't be unless harware failure, you will need to use the button combo to get into download mode and flash a kdz their are enough threads on how to so I won't write it again

I believe so, There is no display on the phone however, when its plugged into the computer I don't see anything in Device manager except I hear a sound on connection , then when I hit volume + and then insert the USB cable i get MTP driver, Com PORT driver, and CDC driver I believe.

I have flashed a kdz already using LG flash tool 2014 method. But I will try the zip and dll method i guess. If there are other options i would love to know about them.
Refraining from having to short circuit the MOBO and wondering if this problem is as easy as getting a new battery and charger ?

Hey everyone,
So, I got a new Xperia XA1 Ultra (G3223) through a trade running stock Android 7.0. Checked everything and initially it looked fine.
Over the last few days, things have been acting weird. Every time I start the device, it gives me a blank (black) screen with a blinking white notification light - it doesn't even show me the boot screen at times when it boots. Just yesterday, I got it to boot by pressing VOLUME UP + POWER after being in that state - but, that's not normal. Does anyone know why in the world my phone does that?
Furthermore, when using the Sony charger that came with the device, it takes over 6 hours to charge and doesn't even show the charging sign while charging. Could this be an Android 7.0 bug or is something seriously wrong with my phone? Only one time since I got it, did I get it to charge normal with the charging sign and everything; it actually charged quite rapidly at that point.
Any help would be appreciated with this, guys, because I'm at a loss. I do want to mention that the device doesn't seem to be recognized by the computer, so I'm not even sure that the cable is original.

Try a new cable and/or charger. (I found I had a bad charger once)
Since you had computer issues, I'd start with the cable. Also check the charging port on the phone for debris/damage.

How is your phone turning on? Power button or inserting the USB cable?
Only thing I can think of is perhaps a stuck volume key placing the phone into recovery or flash mode.
Try turning on the phone with no USB cable attached. Before you turn it on, press the volume keys a few times to make sure they aren't stuck and then power on.

The thing is that it's weird.... For one, sometimes when I use the touch reset/turn off button, it takes at least two minutes to reset, or it doesn't even reset. Then, when I turn the phone on while it's off, the phone sometimes enters into this weird state with the flashing white notification light. I never power on the phone via USB cable, so I don't know, really. Yesterday, I shut the phone off to test it, plugged the phone in to charge it, it wouldn't charge while off, but then hit power on, and then it wouldn't turn on, so I used VOLUME UP + POWER, and then it turned on just fine.
Hi
Happened also to be with my older Xperia J.
Backup your phone (cause you'll lose your data), connect it to a PC (or Mac) and install Xperia companion, then select "repair phone" or something similar (I know the written in Italian version ).
Wait and it will be all fine.
