Can someone please try to sideload the Dish Anywhere app and let me know if it loads / displays properly ?
I tried side loading it via adb and it wouldn't send. Other apps would but this one said fail for some reason.

I side loaded it and it installed fine. after launching, the app runs 90 degrees rotated clockwise and I couldn't go any further. I probably should have tried it with mouse just for fun of it but figured without remote support it wasn't worth it.
Would that orientation app help get this app to work? How did you get it transfer via adb? I couldn't get it to go through. Other apps transferred fine but dish anywhere had a long error message. I'm pretty new at this stuff so please have patience. Thanks.

installed via ADB. i think there are a few different versions of the dishanywhere apk floating around, be sure you try the most recent one.

Thanks for your efforts. What's needed is a way to trigger tablet mode in the app. When I run the Dish app on my Nexus 7 it loads in proper landscape orientation instead of smartphone (portrait) orientation.
Is there a way to modify it to do this?

I don't know if anyone is working on that Hulu app but it kinda really sucks that it can't zoom automatically. So I made a Hulu application but with zoom functionality and a sort of lights out functionality.
any suggestions as to other things I can add to it?
EDIT: It is not finished, but some asked to see it so you can install it and try it out. It has some bugs atm but if you want to see where I am kind of going with it push it to your phone. Also note that this has the same limitations as the other Hulu application you need to have that custom edited flash install.
Start a video, then press the menu button and hit the Zoom button.
You'll probably notice that the background looks strange I was in the process of restyling it.
NOTE You need the modified flash file, you can get it from this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=752582

Contains a modified flash file. So uninstall your flash, and then install that one.
problem i'm getting with hulu and other flash stuff is the sound is slowed way down
There's a fix for that. Look in themes and apps for stagefright fix. I let it play like that to scare the **** out of my son with my demon phone lol.

This app does not seem to work as good as the other one floating around. The video seems to stutter and stop a lot and I get the "the video is not optimized for mobile" which I dont get any of that on the other version. Also the video, when zoomed to fit the screen, is jerky where with the other app, its is 100% smooth.... Also at one point, the video pixelated and then the program shut off and i was back at the sense screen.....
as far as Zoom, on the other APP, I just use the pinch zoom and get it to fit the EVO screen as best I can...
I've pulled the new DirecTV app for tablets. It's not available in the Play Store for the Nexus 7, but it works just fine side loaded.
It's a pretty damn awesome app if you are a DirecTV customer. You can see the app info here.

I suspect it was designed for 10"'s which is why the N7 isn't compatible in the market. I tweeted them, as if that'll do any good.

Yep. Unroot your phone.
I would say your best bet is to search the forum for s thread regarding the sky go app.
In there there's lots of suggestions on how to circumnavigate this non rooted phone requirement.
Hope you succeed

Virgin's TV Anywhere app is at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.virginmedia.tvanywhere
I would like a version that lets me run it on a rooted device too. I don't plan to lose essential functionality such as ClockworkMod backups just for the sake of watching Virgin TV (TV Catchup does most of what I want anyway) but it'd be nice to have the option.
Andre
I'm the same would like to have the functionality of virgin TV anywhere but not at the expense of non rooted. The TV remote bit works nicely but not that bothered about that. It feels like virgin half assed this app doesnt work on KitKat either but the remote part does???
Hope someone can solve this cheers guys
If its anything like Sky Go its not going to be easy
Any solutions found to this? Have tried uninstalling SuperSU and re-installing the Virgin app but it seems to remember my device is rooted and blank out the Watch button. How would I go about clearing all memory of the Virgin app?
Thanks!

Once you've installed what you need to, try clearing the Virgin app's data, and then your phone's Data Chache and Dalvik, and see if that helps.

So I updated my mother's Note 2 with 4.3. The phone is stock and everything, my problem is and made real angry is that I wanted to show off some of the new feature that it has. So went to group play app to do the video sharing, but when I see, there isn't any video sharing to my surprise!!! What happen? I saw all those demo showing off the video sharing option with a Note 3 and a Note 2!
I was testing that out (half heartedly) with my girls GN3 and my newly OTA'd GN2 and couldn't get them to detect with the scan... just off work so I'll try a few more things and see if I can get anywhere
Edit:
So far no dice... double checked device status and Knox counter... everything is good. I did turn on my phone afterwards and noticed several app updates (most were for newer 4.3 apps) but not for group play or Samsung link...
As of right now I wasn't able to get my girls GN3 and my GN2 to recognize each other through any of the apps when referring to videos... (we also have a Samsung TV but no dongle yet)... was able to get music to play on both devices though...
Some things that I've noticed:
1. Her group play app is about half the size of mine (even though she has the GN3 and I'm on the GN2)
2. Her Group Play app is actually an older version than mine
3. Her Group Play app has an option of video sharing where mine doesnt... I only have music/documents/etc... but no video tab to share
Really the whole thing makes no sense lol... but ill continue looking around for answers... pretty stumped at this point as, like I said, they sync for music, just not videos
Something tells me the solution could be as simple as a setting, as boring as waiting for the app to update, or as complex as requiring a dev to manipulate resolution errors/compatibility issues etc and creating a work around... really no idea at this point

Okay after playing around and trying to figure out how to do this I find out how. You need a smart TV that's connected to your home network. That can recognize media files from your phone. Like a media server. I have a Sony TV so I went to settings turned on near by devices and allowed my TV to look in my phone. Then go to wherever on your TV to find the media connection and browse from your TV.

Will the app install? I've got one for you, see if you can get the walmart app to install (and work on your phone). There are several others I've managed to install, but they won't run or just go to a blank screen.
