Bought a samsung galaxy tab 10.1 2014 edition 2 days ago. i went through all its tutorials and downloaded some games. I woke up this morning and my game i had been playing constantly had disappeared completely , and going back into play store it said i had to download it again . That was 10+ hours wasted not happy. Is this common ? As its only 2 days old and i only have 1 week to return it to shop for refund.
Also i can no longer swipe from top of screen down to bring up menu ( that lets you turn off gps/bluetooth etc)
Also cant hold bottom left button ( which should bring up search screen to go through items in your tablet)
Also pen button when clicked should bring up that menu but button now does nothing on any screen.
However my tablet updated about 4 times yesterday and i wasnt sure if that was caused by the updates ? Iv gone in my settings but cannot find any of the above mentioned to get them back ,

Hello,
is there a way to use the BA with the keyboard without using the touch screen. My screen is cracked & not working it's slowing the whole system & sometimes make it to freez i'm using the keyboard (tab, arrows enter)
Any help will be more than appreciated...
Hey - you can use the keyboard and the up/down/left/right rocker, OK button, and Start button to do almost anything.
You will not be able to set alarms.
You will not be able to use Garmin's Que software...
You will not be able to do... well... lots of stuff unfortunately.
I delt with the same problem for about 3 days before I got the replacement.
Hope you've got the insurance plan - for $50 I got a new BA, the Audiovox WITH the Camera (YAY!) And a whole new set of accessories - brand new unit with everything that came in the box.
Heck... I even got another battery - so now I've got 2 regular ones.
For $50 I got a good deal on duplicate accessories
There might be a way to do some of the stuff, but Tab only gets you to certain menus.... I couldn't get it to reset the alarms.
But you CAN get it to change the time on your device... so if you DO have an alarm set you can change the time so that the time the alarm is set for goes off at the correct time (I was off an hour and lost a bit of sleep <_< )
Don't forget your tab button though It's a god send.
I had dropped my XDA 2s, and cracked my screen. I too tried to use it without replacement, but its just not practicable, so I went to the repair shop and got me a new screen. That's the only way, unfortunately
Hi I bought the the New defy from Croma on the 25th March 2011 and installed many apps and stuff on 27th i installed [ROM] Pays-ROM Defy v5.1 Froyo with Ginger feeling [3.4.3-11 based!] ROM and every thing went well got a 8gb card too with this and suddenly it went dead, below explains the whole list of things i had installed and details on what happened
i installed the ROm as per the details on the post, later had installed loads of games and still it was fine played some games and it used to say purchase the launcher pro so i downloaded a cracked launcher pro 0.8.3 and installed over this one then the error msg did not come, and then it was acting weird the vibrations did not stop and then once i uninstalled the Launcher pro and the screen was blank with only the battery bar in the top i was not able to access any other page so i restarted the device after restart it did not go beyond the Motorola logo for half an hour so i went into stock recovery mode and when i got the green android i pressed the bottom right corner nothing happened i tried pressing all the corners and tested there for half an hour nothing worked i called the Motorola service and went straight there today they said they will have to get me a new one which will take 2 days as this is not working. please let me know where i have gone wrong why did the phone go dead, did some one else experience the same problem, please let me know cause when i get the new one i definitely want to install the rom again
To activate the Recovery menu in FroYo, you have to press the up and down arrow key at the same time.
Pressing the screen only works in Eclair...

Can you please explain, you mean press both buttons at the same time? when should i do this cause if i press the volume down button and reboot it is going to the green android screen p;ost this i have to press both the buttons or before booting i got to hold both the buttons ? please let me know

Once you see the small green droid, press both, volUp and volDown.
..only two days to get your defy replaced with a new one? wow, it's definitely not a bad deal!
Anyway, i don't think your Defy is dead, you should learn how to use RDS Lite and then flash the proper rom.
Look around, there are many guides and how-to, also check for "how to keep downgradability" if you are interested.

Thanks alot the ROm was proper but i messed up i did not know that in Froyo you have to press both the buttons
Hi all,
I purchase my Samsung Galaxy Nexus from 3 (Three) UK Store last Thursday. It has been faultless bar the odd hang which taking the battery out has resolved. Im using it on Orange.
However, this morning I picked up my phone and was notified I had the volume bix fix update.
I downloaded and installed the update and all was well for about 20 minutes.
Then my phone started going crazy!
I think its something to do with the screen as it keeps popping up the google search bar and flicking through some options, then the screen stops responding.
Sometimes the phone flicks between home screens partially and make them jiggle!
Locking and unlocking the phone gives me 5-30 seconds of normal use, then the phone goes crazy or just doesnt respond.
Ive turned the phone off and on, removed the battery and even reset it this evening.
It doesnt do it ALL the time, and whenever I try and do it on queue, it doesnt!
Luckily tonight I got video of the phone going crazy.
Can anyone help?
The phone is bog standard, ie no roms/roots etc.
Should I take it back or is there something I can do?
Also, since ive just reset the phone, ive had to set up my mail. Once the phone behaved I put in my account details and then it started popping up the menu button at the top of email, ie to change folders or accounts etc. Deffinately seems to be something with the top of screen.

Maybe download the original shipping rom from Google and fastboot the image onto the phone and see if the behaviour continues.

There's links to the original roms with or without the volume fix in place which can be found on the development section. I used this to update my gun and its working just fine. I'm also on Three UK and the reason I did this is because even though the volume bug doesn't affect us three users I still like being 100% up to date.

I got my Galaxy Nexsus today in Asia from a shop.
I start to play with it and from time to time suddenly it without my help bottom of the screens gets tapped repeatedly! pressing home, back and apps list buttons again and again.
I was wondering if anyone else have the same problems and if the best guess is to be a hardware problem (I will be screwed as I bought it from a shop! ) or a software bug (I can wait for an update as mine if 4.0.2).

No problem here.
Try to remove the battery first. Wait one minute.
If it does not work, try to reset the phone (All apps/settings/backup&reset/factory data reset). You will lose everything!
If the problem persists, maybe it is a hardware problem.
Only if Pointer Location is on?

Can someone enable the "Pointer Location" option from "Developer Options" and play with phone and see if it happens?
I think when it is off from the start of phone everything is fine. But when I enable this feature after a while bottom of the screen gets tapped repeatedly.
my wife's s4 mini (completely stock) has developed a fault where when u press the screen it will press in several other places also.
the phone has a slight scratch on the screen, so this is what I thought the problem was. this morning however it froze so my wife restarted it, when I came back on it said there were 3 messages and there wasn't any when she checked.
it had also changed the time and date.
can anybody give their ideas on this please
