If i lift the magnetic cover the screen comes on and i enter my password.
If I then close the magnetic cover and then reopen it the screen stays black.
There is nothing I can do to bring the screen back on but close the cover for a few minutes and then try again and then it works.
The point is I can't put the screen back on right away.
Anyone know what is going on and is something wrong?

My S3 has been working fine for months sort of. I bought it off of ebay with a huge crack in the glass, then my brother dropped it and all the glass fell out. To use the phone we has to touch the bare LCD of the phone, which after a while we just but a screen cover over it. I waited 2 months, bought a new glass replacement and put it on, everything worked just fine. After a little the home button when pressed to the left a little would make the screen go crazy. it would start tapping and swiping in random places. After locking and waking the screen the phone was normal again. after that, i removed the glass again, and this time when putting it back on if i pushed the home button it pushed the glass down a little, which would turn my screen black. locking the phone and waking the screen again turned the screen back on. Also the screen was a lot less sensitive, i'd have to tap a key 2-5 times sometimes to hit a specific letter. whenever that happened i put 3 dsi's to weigh it down and push the screen down, which would improve the sensitivity. that worked twice, and now my screen doesn't respond to touch at all. the screen will wake, but only when i press on the bottom right corner of the screen will it respond to touch. Any word on what could be the problem? i need to know what to buy to replace in the phone. I've already taken the whole phone apart and plugged everything back in, after i had tried everything to get my phone to respond. Could this be a digitizer problem, or an LCD problem? any possible fixes without having to replace anything?
The first issue was using the device without the glass installed. By touching the bare LCD you most likely damaged it. Your best bet at this point is probably going to be to replace the Touch assembly ( Glass / LCD Touch digitizer ) . Also keep in mind, when doing any sort of Screen replacement. Be sure to keep everything as clean, and dust free as possible.
I’m using an origami case with the tablet. The flap unlocks the screen just like it should when I flip it open. When I close it though, it doesn’t lock the screen. Sometime its fine as I’ve set the screen to turn off in 30 seconds. However, I noticed that XBMC keeps the screen on and I end up finding a dead battery the next day because the cover didn’t turn off the screen.
Do I have a faulty sensor? Its not the case because I tried another case/cover and it does the same thing.
Thanks

If the "other" case was the same make and model it doesn't prove much. There have been tons of issues with non-Samsung flip and book covers across multiple device forums. Go to Best Buy and try an official case. If it works it's not your sensor.
bought another case today, this time the poetic slimline. just like the origami case, it auto unlocks the screen when opening, but doesn't auto lock when closing. tried the case on a friends 10.1 2014 and auto locking work so its definitely my tablet and not issues with the case...i'm not sure if its hardware or software as i'm running cleanrom w/ bindroid kernel. any suggestions? its not annoying enough to sent in for a fix since i can simply use the GMD gesture to quickly turn off the screen but its still a mystery to me.
thanks
edit: flashed the bindroid rom and now the tablet auto sleeps and wakes with the cover...i guess it was the software...
How do I get my tab pro 8.4 to wake up after I uncover the screen case? It remains off unlike my other devices.
Nevermind I figured out why the screen wasn't waking up. I simply had inserted the tab in the case incorrectly, where the case was covering the camera. When I flipped the tab around, it was waking up fine.
I've now started to see issues on my Tab S 8.4 such as flickering and reboots esp when the battery gets low. I've see a few videos on opening the Tab S up and I'm a bit puzzled. When I look at my tab S the bezel is raised above the screen and there is absolutely no gap between either so how the hell are they managing to get plastic slices in between the screen and bezel?
But if I turn my Tab S around to see the back cover I can get my finger nail under the back cover and separate it from the bezel easily so my question is why not take the back cover off instead as it seems to be a lot easier. I haven't tried it just in case I damage something. But really is getting under the screen definitely the correct way to get to the battery?
Im having an issue that just started. If my phone is on and unlocked and I open my phone, the screen does not switch. The front screen stays on and the inner screen stays off. If I open my phone before unlocking, inner screen works as intended and the front screen stays off. Please help.
Nevermind sensors were off. Sorry. Fixed
