Is there a way to get CM-styled ring lockscreen on top of stock based rom? Thanks.

Have you tried using a replacement lock screen from the Play store? I used to use Go Locker, with a Halo theme, back on one of my old phones. Worked well, but sometimes you'd get a double lock screen.

I like how with the Touchwiz lock screen you can slide the button to open a new text message, but it seems kind of limited. What if instead of just sliding down for a text and up for unlock, you could also slide right for a new GMail message and left to toggle sound on and off like the vanilla lock screen? Is anyone else interested in something like this?
I am but I would want it to look more like the vanilla lock screen then touchwiz

If you're looking to make one, I'd absolutely give it a try. I currently use widget locker but I'm guessing something that's more native (aka not an app) would work much better.
Yea it would

I actually like this ideal. But I'd like if you could make the text notification on the lock screen word with Handcent because I don't use the stock messaging app

Personally, I'd like to have the fascinate lock screen (slide puzzle piece to unlock)

i wholly agreed
I've been thinking about this for a while. It would be great if it could be done. Vanilla lock screen would be great, but touchwiz would be acceptable as well. Props to anyone who figures it out!
is there a way to change the lock screen wallpaper? i'd like the lock screen to look different than the home screen but i dont see an option in the settings. running AOKP milestone 2 with stock kernel.
thanks.
Not possible on stock.

Widgetlocker in the market will do it.
When you long-press the shortcuts in the notification bar, it takes you directly to the settings for that function.
If you have a pattern lock set up, if you hold the last dot the 4 lockscreen shortcuts pop up.
If you guys find other shortcuts lg has put in, please post.
I'm trying the lock screen thing and it isn't working

When performing your unlock gesture, hold down on the last dot. The OP didn't mean the corner dot (unless thats the last dot in your gesture of course)
OHHH!!!! Wow that is sick!!! Thanks for clearing things up for me.
Edit: Still amazed by the pattern lockscreen gesture. If this isn't part of AOSP or Cyanogenmod, I think it should be. This makes opening apps a lot faster while still keeping your phone safe. Gotta say that LG has really impressed by this simple modification.
Honestly i prefer it to be the other way around - lock screen shortcuts, then gesture unlock. But glad this exists for our phone.

I'm wondering if anyone used the WidgetLocker lock screen replacement?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker
I loved it on my SGSIII, but now that the SGSIV has a version of it, I'm wondering what people think. The downfall of the stock lockscreen is that you can't add widgets right on the main lock screen. The one downfall of WidgetLocker is that the shortcuts you add open right away, as opposed to having to drag the shortcut on the stock lockscreen, I find that I accidentally unlock the phone while it's in my pocket.
Just wanted to get your take.
Thanks,
Ever since I upgraded to the S4, I haven't even bothered installing Widget Locker. The S4's lockscreen is awesome.

I agree, I wish I could drop a widget directly on the lock screen without having to do any swiping.
I stopped using widgetlocker on my s3 since waking up the device with the home button also unlocked it. Used to love it on my S2

Only thing the stock lockscreen is really missing is the ability to slide to unlock before going to the pattern. I don't like the fact that they removed the ability to have both, and i really miss not having music controls off my lockscreen as a result of the pattern lock being up as soon as i unlock.
I've tried searching and I don't see any mod for this. Is there a mod that allows for lock screen ring shortcuts? Or an .apk I can just take from a CM build?
Thanks!
I gave up on trying to find this and just installed the HyperDroidAOXP ROM. It's got just about everything I like about GE ROMs, plus the lock screen shortcuts.
