Hi,
I'm looking for answer about connection speed over BT with tetering option activated. I'm using this features in my car, so on my old phone Internet works fine but I hear that in Htc one and one M8 bt is in 4.0 le version. So could you check for me how speed this device has.
Maybe try connect phone with activated tetering modw to laptop and run speed test.
Thank you

For the short time that I had the 8525 with Windows Mobile 5, I was able to have my bluetooth headset ON (either during a voice call or just on standby) and to use ActiveSync via bluetooth simultaneously. Now, only one bluetooth device can connect at a time. It's very frustrating to have to
switch one device off to use the other. I know that the phone supports multiple simultaneous bluetooth connections, but it doesn't seem to work now. Any ideas?

Why do you have WM5 on 8525?? works waaaaay better with WM6 and will probably fix your issue.
It sounds like you have moved on to a different ROM, and now the bluetooth does not work. If so, which rom have you flashed?
I'm sorry, I left out that vital piece of information. I have the official AT&T/HTC Windows Mobile 6 ROM installed. The reference to WM5 is to explain that back on WM5, I used to be able to have simultaneous Bluetooth connections, but now on WM6, I can not.
Hi - I was wondering if it is possible to use my htc diamond as a bluetooth headset for another phone (blackberry in my case).
I have a workphone (bberry) and personal/car phone (diamond) and wanted to ensure that any call that comes on the bberry always goes via bluetooth to the htc diamond. Currently I forward all calls to the htc diamond, which is connected to the car audio via aux-in, however a better option would be bluetooth. This way I can always use the htc diamond and keep my workphone out of sight and look at it only for emails, etc.
I see no option in the bberry to assign the htc as a bluetooth headset - any ideas or clues on how to do this would be nice
This has been asked here on the android forum too
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f44/use-phone-as-bluetooth-headset-for-another-phone-28050/
if the other device's bluetooth stack support audiogateway as headset and handsfree is not an option in that case
otherwise no unless one get a bluetooth stack which support audiogateway
thanks for the reply - so you are saying on the htc diamond end there are no issues and no changes needed. Its the bberry i need to take care of and make it recognize audiogateway?
Anyone else having bluetooth problems or is this operator error?
I can switch bluetooth on, make my handset visible, pair with other devices and receive files from other handsets, however when I try to send anything, I can't connect to paired devices and bluetooth hangs meaning I have to switch my handset off and on.
I was using bluetooh last night and all was ok
but unlike my last phone c902 the bluetooth is on a timer then turns off visibility
Working fine for me. Paired up my bluetooth headset and will still be working hours later even if I haven't interacted between them.
It's strange, devices show as paired but not connected and I can't make them connect.
Have been able to use BT for file transfer between my Desire and laptop and HD2. Also connected to my Plantronics BT headset. I think you need to have an appropriate BT driver for some devices like BT keyboards.
I too am having minor issues.
The wife's hands free kit (Parrot CK3000 evo) in the car supports voice dialling by sending contacts to it and then recording a tag which is associated with the contact. This way the kit can do the voice dialling for handsets that don't support it.
For some reason the Desire refuses to send contacts to the hands free kit claiming it doesn't support the correct bluetooth profiles. This obviously isn't the case as all the other phones we have tried work perfectly with the CK3000.
Only a minor issue, as in my car which has the CK3300 everything works fine (including syncing the phonebook to the car kit). It's more of a problem for the wife though, as she wants to upgrade to the Desire on Saturday when her contract is up for renewal but at the minute won't be able to voice dial from the car.
Dae.
Strange. I'll try connceting to my laptop later.
I too am having difficulty sending files over bluetooth. I can accept files fine, from any source, yet cannot send from my HTC Desire. First the notification says complete, but 0 files sent. Then going inside it shows it has failed. And then clicking it and retrying shows Unknown file. What's going on??
Tried sending to two mobile phones, and a Windows 7 laptop. Easily works the other way around. Also, sometimes I can't turn my bluetooth off properly, it just crashes the chip while turning off and can't turn it on or off until I reboot. Thought it might be Advanced Task Killer, but tried the same thing immediately after a reboot and still can't send files. Any ideas?
still no closer to solving this, I think it may be going back tomorrow.
I'm also having problems...
I have the Parrot CK3200 LS-COLOR and it connects to the phone ok, or vice versa and then it always falls over when trying to sync the contacts... It shows my facebook profile pic and then it fails.
If I dial a contact through the phone, or receive a call, it comes out fine through the speakers.
So I'm wondering if it's something to do with the way the the desire handles contacts.
Sorry if there's been a resolution to this, I did search first
me to also having the same problems. spent 4 hours on google last night and still no closer.
Weird as it might sound, I had no issues connectiong to car stereo. But when I tried to pair it with friends mobile, SonyEricsson c902 - it crashed!
I was trying to send a picture file I have downloaded using bluetooth.
Also, can anyone tell me how to send a mp3 file I have downloaded off the internet to another mobile using bluetooth?
Thanks
Have you enabled FTP under Bluetooth advanced settings? I have no problem transfering files to and from PC or other mobile phone. Also make sure the device is dicroverable and paired.
I had a similar problem which I wrote to HTC about: I paired and connected the Desire with my bluetooth car head unit and it works fine for phone & audio, but it will not auto connect each time I get in the car and I have to go through the pairing process and enter a code each time. Voice dialling also doesn't work. My previous handset (Touch HD) connected automatically if the bluetooth was on so I don't think it's a problem with the head unit. Someone suggested it might be due to an old bluetooth protocol on the head unit (I'd like to avoid having to replace it if possible).
i managed to send a file to another htc desire today, last time i tried, i admit i didn't enable the ftp service, however I could not send via bluetooth to a nokia n96 but to be fair, my desire probably just didn't want anything to do with it . but on a serious note I cant seem to get it to send to my windows 7 x64 disto.

take that back .. apart from the N96 joke.. reason windows was not accepting was because avast anti virus was blocking it.

Is it possible to use the Desire as a CLIENT for a Bluetooth enabled DUN sharing device? I mean I want to use the Desire without signing up for an other internet contract SIM. Wifi is a solution, but when there is no wifi coverage, it would be really good if I could use my other phone's 3G connection, which can share it over Bluetooth DUN.
What I'm looking at is not tethering, but being a client for a tethered phone. Is there any ROM or app or trick which would make my Desire work as a DUN client?
i'm in the same requirement.
i have an Android tablet with wifi and bluetooth, and i've got a separate 3G/HSPDA phone.
so in the absence of wifi, i want to use my 3G phone (paired with my tablet via BT) and use the phone's connection to surf the web
it's like PC, connected to a phone via bluetooth and use the regular dialup networking to connect to the internet.
any links, reading materials (online) would be great.
thanks
Android + BT DUN
The same trouble: HTC Flyer Wifi cannot use any of BT DUN -enabled phones. It's very unexpected lack in Android.
Same trouble. Galaxy S Android 2.3 cannot use BT Dun enabled phones. Would be very usefull !!!! A lot of people around the web asking for a way to share his blackberry data plan through BT Dun to his Android phone
Me too, Nook Color running CM7 but can't surf anywhere like my iPod tethering through a Nokia phone

I have a strange Bluetooth issue: I can't even find my Bluetooth headset with my HTC One X.
But the Bluetooth headset works perfectly - I can easily find it with my HTC Desire or any other phone.
The headset itself of-course is in pairing-state.
Might this be due to only Bluetooth 2.0 capability of my headset?
As you know HTC One X has Bluetooth V 4.0. Is this backwards compatible to Bluetooth 2.0?
Anyone else experiencing such issues?

It's supposed to be. But as we all have experienced at one time or another BT is an imperfect technology. I've been lucky. All my BT devices work fine. The One X actually connects much faster to previously connected devices than my i9100 did. I have a BlueAnt Q2 and confirm it works fine.
Once you do get a headset connected you'll find HTC didn't include a native ICS voice dialer. All the APK's I've found don't work. The only way I've found so far to initiate a BT call from the headset is to use Vlingo in In Car mode. Hopefully a dev will come up with a working BT dialer.
Good luck.
Argh, my Bluetooth headset was quite cheap (~30 €), and is a no-name brand (bought about 2 years ago)
Bluetooth connection from One X to Desire works flawless.
Maybe I'll buy a new headset from a well-known brand ...
Or any other ideas?
try a reset of the phone? that seems to help in a lot of cases. also, any other bluetooth connections already in place? may want to try removing them before doing the reset. i have a much older bluetooth headset that will pair with my one x. and a newer one that pairs. both useless for voice dialing without an intermediary app, but the newer one seems to work well with a paid app (enhanced sms and caller id) that will identify callers and also read sms messages. getting there.
Hmm, reset is just my 'ultima ratio' ...
Will only try it, when I get not other solution ...
Any other ideas?
