Multi Window FYI

Troops,
I see confused folk ask without answer on how multi-window works.
If you install LIH firmware you activate it by long-pressing on the Back button.
You'll figure it out from there, or a quick youtube search for its full glory...

Like Apple CEO says Incredible amazing awesome!
But mine is LIH & it is not available!

Since most of you guys reading this post are Swype users, have you tried using Keymonk keyboard? It's like Swype, but supports multi-touch input with 2 fingers. I thought this might be perfect for the Note 2 with 2 handed operation. I've been using it on my S3, and thought that it might be the perfect keyboard for the Note 2. It might take a little time to get used to for new users. Any inputs from those who have tested or using it on Note 2? I can't test it yet since I don't have the Note 2. I'm looking forward for the Note 2 when it comes to the US.

It's nice but I don't get the multi touch option? How can someone Swype two different word at the same time using the Swype method...you need to explain that to me.

Hi, I'm the developer of Keymonk.
You don't sweep two words at the same time but one word with two fingers, just as you would tap type it with two thumbs.
Take a look at this thread:

Maybe you guys should try updating swype? It works fine with me.

It's working again after disabling Swype Connect and enabling it again!

One reason why swype functionality on the Samsung Keyboard is deactivated is because you may have enabled some accessibility features. When I try to activate accessibility features for Tasker and NotifierPro+ I get this:
Air view and TalkBack cannot both be enabled. Air view will be disabled.
When I deactive the accessibility stuff the swyping works again on the Samsung Keyboard. Actually Swype doesn't have an issue. However, I'd like to keep using the Samsung KB because I can quickly switch to hand-writing recognition. Very annoying.
which is better, swype or the swiping with the samsung keyboard?

It would be nice but this isn't possible. The Samsung keyboard requires the touchwiz framework to function.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
This was done on the original Note. I'll take a look at that one and see if it can be done.
I want this as well. Missing the one handed operation. Paid for thumbs keyboard as a workaround now.
But what if you have touchwiz already?
All I really miss is the dedicated top row to number keys. If someone could hack that into the AOSP keyboard that would be pretty cool

I did, and even bought it for the advanced customizing features but I couldn't come up with a set-up that felt quite like stock I'll try it again, but I spent a good hour configuring it last time.
bump, this would be perfect. only can someone make it compatible for n7105 as well?

Swiftkey and Swype are the best
swype has handwriting.
but I don't think there's any keyboard with better handwriting support than the Samsung keyboard.

[APP] MyScript Stylus Keyboard

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visionobjects.stylusmobile.v3_2_store
Saw this on Android Police and I love it so far. If you used the spen board switcher and it was always finicky with the Samsung keyboard, you won't have that problem with this. Plus the gestures and such work a lot better. Editing a sentence works a lot better too since you can scroll through your whole input stream.
Enjoy!

Yes but I personally find the TW keyboard to be absolutely horrendous and non-dpi change friendly. After using this keyboard (and Touchpal) I don't want to be anywhere near the stock tw keyboard haha
Thanks. Iwas looking for something like this. How do I set it up so it activates only when I pull my stylus out?

i just can't get the keyboard to change automatically. i read somewhere that the at&t phones have this issue! I installed CM S Pen Add-on and Notebuddy also. Set default to AOSP keyboard and alternative to MyScript Stylus. In SPenBoard Switcher, the setting is fixed. the custom apps launch with notebuddy, but I don't want MyScript Stylus keyboard options, I need the keyboard to change automatically based on my stylus status. I am just about to give up and manually switch keyboards! But this app is great though.
i just use tasker to switch my keyboard based on the application open... it works great for me.
