[Q] how to root LG E975

Just bought a LG E975 with 4.1.2 but I can't seem to find any guide on rooting that works for it.
Any help will be appreciated.

if its an E975 running JB it sounds like its already rooted seeing as no official 4.1.2 has been released yet for that model unless that's the korean model . I could be wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time. Check in app drawer for super user icon.

You can root it with the method posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112190
Might take a few tries but it works as I tried it on the E975 KDZ a couple of times.
Then download busybox from market.

Thanks... it works beautifully!

Now I think to think of how to fastboot recovery into this phone. Can't seem to be able to enter it..
This LG phone sure is a learning curve for a former Samsung s3 user

Maybe jump on the IRC channel and ask for the E975 freegee if available. It will unlock bootloader and inject cwm for you. Then you just reflash a newer cwm version which can be found in the AT&T section.

Hi,
i have red different things about how to root an e975.
So i have a few questions before to root my phone.
Is there a better method than another to root my optimus G?
Is there a way to unroot it easily later?
If i unroot it, will it be exactly the same as a never-rooted optimus g?
Will it be possible to update officially my phone when an update will be available? (with root? unrooted?)

the easiest way is to use motochopper to unroot, after u need to unlock the boot loader with freegee available on the mp...
now you re ready to flash a new ROM.
at your own risk....
ask yourself what u want to achieve with root... if you want to get the last stock lg experience, you don't need to root.

Is there any way to set filter for 4.1.2 in the application? I don't want to install anything not supported by our phone..

You should read the xposed thread........if a module isn't supported for your android version it won't install and work........just do some reading man its simple

The latest beta Xposed brings more compatiability for LG stock ROMs so everything for 4.1 should work.

Verizon 4.4.2 update

Does anyone have or know where I can find the Verizon 4.4.2 update for this? I'm gonna try making a stock rom to flash in twrp from it. Is there a site for LG devices, like the sammobile site, that list all the softwares?

Ok, I see that there is a 4.4.2 update. Does anyone know if it's possible to get the update off of the LG Update Tool? If not, can someone on 4.4.2 extract their system and boot.img? You should be able to keep root using the SuperSU root keeper option while updating to KK. Has anyone tried that?

Hey, why can't you wait until Verizon release KitKat update for the Verizon G Pad. And it may not be possible to install KitKat update for the original LG g pad to the Verizon G Pad.

Because it will take big red months to get their bloatware into and release it to the people. That would be my guess.

Guys, according to other sites and users on this site, it has been released already. I'm looking for a system dump or the whole update image so that I can create a flashable rom.

i read that purple drake works..

I used purple drake on windows to root v410 att version of v400 and can confirm that it worked.

Towelroot might work too. I rooted my V510 with it.

I have the LG G PAD-7" V410 AT$T and I have mine rooted using Purpledrake... Working like a charm...

If you just want to root your phone, try towelroot.apk. You must be really lazy because a Google search on rooting lg-e980 will tell you about towel root app.
