[Q] Mirror remote app? - Ouya Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

With the success of the CM11 port I am wondering if it would be possible to have an app that mirrors touches from another android device. For example if I wanted to play Hill Climb Racing on the Ouya I could connect my phone via BT or Wifi and use my phone touch screen to implement touches on the Ouya? I have tried sever different apps but none of them do it quite right.

[Q] Trying to repurpose xperia ion as htpc/emulation station

So i have a rooted xperia Ion. (Locked bootloader from Rogers in canada. LT28i)
I have since jumped to a galaxy s3 because i dropped the ion and cracked the screen all up (still registers touch and displays image)
So my intent is to mount this onto the back of my TV with an HDMI cable , and keep it plugged in/always on.
I have purchased the sixaxis app, and have it paired to a dedicated PS3 controller.
Basically I am treating it as a dedicated android gaming/movie console. Just to play android games that support controller, and emulation, plus netflix streaming/ web browsing etc.
I am going to use Nova launcher to setup a home-screen, and lock it to simplify. And with the mouse emulation, and sixaxis setup, i should have full control of my phone.
Has anyone here done this before? and if so, what tips/suggestion/tweaks would you suggest.
Hmm interesting set up . I also recommend purchasing a usb otg dongle for when friends or family members want play media from usb disks on that big screen. Acquiring either the XBMC or Plex app is also handy to stream media from device, SD or Usb disk memory to other devices. I would also recommend installing a cm10 and custom kernel for your device.... For the extra speed :s

[Q] Navigating CyonogenMod

Just went through the directions and successfully updated CWM and installed the boot menu. Took a few tries to get CyanogenMod to boot up but once I wiped the user data and reinstall it booted up fine.
Question, is the OUYA controller useless once in CyanogenMod? Do I need a keyboard/mouse to use it properly? What is the fan favorite for devices to replace the awkward controller?
Thanks.

This. I can't type from my OUYA remote to the onscreen keyboard. I've searched to find a way to enable this feature and couldn't find anything that would. I would think adding OUYA Remote as an input device might do it (Keyboard & Input in CM Settings) But, there is no option to access it.
I tried dl'ing Six Axis and it got late so I wasn't able to mess with it too much, but, it didn't seem like it was going to work. Essentially, I just want to be able to select the letters of the onscreen keyboard with the Ouya controller. Has anyone had better luck?
I have really retired my OUYA controller. Multi port USB hub with a USB keyboard, for recovery work, wireless mouse and a Bluetooth keyboard are my choices. I don't much care for games so this is just an HTPC for me. XBMC, Pandora, some weather apps, Facebook and tumblr. I haven't even tried the controller with any android games. Does it work in that respect?
Sent from my LG-LS720 using xda app-developers app
Ive not actually tried it. It Navigates ok with wireless xbox 360 controller, so I`d guess its ok. Seriously, get a cheap wireless keyboard and mouse, for pref, not a bluetooth one but one with a dongle. Bought mine for £15 and its a joy to use. Browsing on a nice big TV is awesome.
You need to manually link the ouya controller in the blue tooth setting menu. Put the controller into discovery more than select find BT devices. You only need to do this once

[Q] Use Touchscreen tablet to view and interact with firetv???

Is it at all possible to use say an android tablet to receive a launched program via like a miracast type of system where my tablet can display and interact via the touchscreen with what is on the fire tv screen.
So say for instance in this example, I have a game I want to side load onto the fire tv. But the game will not recognize a mouse click or a button being pushed on the remote, so I cannot play it, but will recognize a touch from a touchscreen when playing on my tablet.
I want to be able to load up and play the game on the fire tv and use the tablet as a touch controller for the fire tv.
Is something like that even remotely possible?
IN my example, I side loaded golfstar onto the fire tv. I can launch the game and it gets to the part where it wants me to download the additional data, but when a mouse is hooked up or trying to use the firetv remote, I cannot click ok to download the additional data. Is there a way to make the game recognize the click from the mouse or am I out of luck?
IT would be awesome to use the firetv with a mouse to work the game, but if that is not possible, I guess I will have to hope that the game developer adds some kind of support for android TV devices.
Any thoughts?

Nexus 7,OTG, Xbox Wireless Remote, MS Wireless Remote Receiver, and Minecraft PE

My son has been trying to get these things to work on his tablet but is running into an issue. The controller seems to work fine outside the game and even within the game menu. The problem is as soon as he spawns into a world the controller starts acting like it's lost calibration and has a mind of its own. Anyone have any ideas?
Mods. Can you please move this to the general section?

Coverting phone and Dex into a desktop gaming system.

I have tried dozens of phone gamepad apps, ..i am looking for a way to make the s8+ an all in one gaming system now that you can use the phone while Dex is running as well. With physical gamepad triggers, collapsable handles, and screen thumbsticks, the phone can be converted into a gamepad and you would be able to play Android games and maybe even Windows games (via remote networking) and all it now needs is a type C to HDMI cable.
What i cannot find, is an app that you can install the server and gamepad apps on the same phone and have it actually work. Droidmote is possible, but requires root.
Has anyone else tried this idea? I am surprised Samsung has not considered this idea already, it would beat the crap out of hauling gaming consoles around.
