OF CURSE ,
but we all know that xperia play 1 is really out of date ,
we all have xpera play , cause we all are gamer , so we need a high end phone to support games as much better as a phone can !
i really hope that sony , with all it's experiences , develop this version on future . (( near future ))
The specs are wrong, quad core with only 1GB of ram? and with specs so good and only a 8mp camera?
Well, i will wait for a real news.
I hate those "articles"

Enough said.

Hey, the Concept is nice. Don't worry, Sony was focused on the Vita. Now that the PS3 is slowly dying, and the new line of Sony phones are coming out. The new Play will come. We just need to wait. I was going to buy a Play just for the gaming, but I have a JXD Gaming Tablet.

You should know the only way of having a HDMI port on a xperia play would be by hard modding and adding tweaks to the play.
The play doesnt have a HDMI and Software support and most likely never will.
By you saying you never moded your play and have a HDMI port you are... , you should also know that if sony released a HDMI version of the play why wouldnt they have announced it. Or why didnt reviewers get any infomation on it? Simple answer is YOU ARE A LIE AND HAVE NO SENCE WHAT SO EVER!

cmon guys the 100000 article about a concept phone...
Really can you stop spamming the forum with such ridiculous news...
Since I bought this phone 1,5 month ago I at least read 3 concept threads here at xda....
Cmon I don't get it maybe you can bring light into me- but WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE ARTICLES GOOD FOR?!??!
There is some random guy - using photoshop for 10min - creating a collage of several phones on the market - taking all high end hardware you can get atm - give it a name of a famous phone with an increasing number at the end or HD in the name - and call it a "new" concept phone ...
sry
Some desingers - might really invent some "new" and good things - but all those concept threads and articles about follower/sucessor phones - are just a bad joke imho...
If it at least would be something innovative or usefull of things that didn't exist yet... but cmon - OF PHONE SUCESSORS?!?!
Created by people who not even have ANY impact on the development process of those phones....
Really next and the weak after I will present the HTC TWO, and the SAMSUNG GALAXY S 5.
And if you are patient I will also introduce the SONY XPERIA PSP UBER TABPHONE with 99-Core C/GPU from ATNvidia - wich will beat you all in the *** - but not before chistmas 2017...
thanks for your attention...

Oh God this thread should be locked.
I've seen a lot of Play disassembles and there are NO HDMI ports anywhere on the device...at all.
The only ones with HDMI were the dev models for tradeshows and expos.

Hey Guys, I just wana make a brief comment on some of the issues I'm reading here. Some of which have already been addressed so please excuse any redundancy.
Im sure some of these things will very soon be resolved w sony updates but rest assure soon as a root system is achieved the power to change them will be in the hands of the user. I've been developing on the X10 ever since its release and have watched it become one of the coolest development devices available half of which before Sony was really on-board w independent development.
Most of these things (except for the speaker issues, which just come w the "thin phone" territory I'm afraid) can be related most likely to excessive syncing, etc from att/sony bloat. There are some things that may be able to be done now to help but prob we'll have to wait for root to see any major improvement.
As far as the device goes, if u can deal w the speaker it will most certainly be a hellova phone in the very near future. I just ordered one and will provide a complete review as well as any tips or suggestions I might have just as soon as I can get my hands on it. Prob first of next week sometime is w I expect the shipment.
In the interim Id b happy to help assist anyone w any possible solutions I can provide. earbrain

I got my Ion on Sunday and couldn't be happier with it. I've had the X10 since it was released. What an improvement. Big thanks goes out to all of the x10 developers that kept me interested in the phone for the past almost two years!
The Ion is incredibly snappy. I don't mind the lack of ICS at the moment but I really miss the notification dropdown toggle widgets for wifi, data, gps, etc. Once some development occurs, namely root, this phone will be amazing. My only concern is the fragmentation of the Xperia brand. The x10 was available worldwide and had many developers working on it. At the moment, I believe the Ion is only available in Taiwan and the US. It will probably take more time before substantial development occurs for this phone. I just can't wait to remove all of the AT&T garbage off of this thing. Even so, it's a huge improvement over the x10. Just my two cents....
I wouldn't worry about dev (or lack there of) on this phone, it's a given.

Not so much goodbye as c'ya later, hopefully not too long either, Google are saying it will complete UK shipping on the pre-orders by the end of next week and there is one such order with my name it The Price in UK Sterling is an absolute steal for such a device, cheaper then Archos....
How does triple buffer butter taste :silly: (I say this adopting the tip-toed stance of an inquisitive child trying to catch an early glimpse of the action. )
It looks like I might be doing another round of 3G Dongle Enabling, if some one hasn't already beat me too it... I should be able to get the archos 3G Stick working with it
What can we say about the Archos Gen9's?
The hardware specification was pretty solid. although the early SD Card based ones could have done with more memory.
The hardware Implementation was "shoddy" and the Archos official firmwares seem to come with they own unique set of issues which is probably down to working around unpredictable hardware behaviour as much as anything else.
Based on the G9 Series ; It is not a brand I would recommend to anyone who just wants/expects there device to work .
I had to repair the Full Size USB Port and My Screen has been "broken" since pretty much day 1, This has been a mixed blessing really as I've found new and interesting ways of interacting with the device.
The Community! There's not many of us that got "tricked" with the Special Developer Edition nonsense.... But I will say this, Some of the Hardware Wizardry that goes on leaves me in awe. Jacking in with UART is not a place I've ever been too but it's fascinating watching this device get owned by some very knowledgeable people ( or should that be pwnd ).
So overall probably 6/10 for the device ( coming from a developers/tinkers viewpoint ) 10/10 for the work that the community have done and will continue to do.....
10/10 for the awesome community and devs for sure! The community on the G9 forums might even be better than those on the Droid INC forums (that's saying something!)
I'm lovin the taste of this butter...never before have I seen such a beautiful android experience!

Does not relate to Xperia Arc.
And it is your decision, which features are more important for you.

Just make a ranked list of the features that are important to you. Then see which one has more. The other approach, probably a better one is to go to the shop and play around with both phones and see which one feels better on the spot. If however you cannot do that then play a few youtube videos of each phone and see which one looks better.
Just some ideas.
You wan't great development and quadcore power with 2 gigs:
NEXUS 4
You want to stay with Sony and like their design and the smaller size, but way less development:
XPERIA SP
You can effort about 90€ more, get the mix out of both:
XPERIA ZL
Look it up, it looks and performs great, I almost bought it, but I'm about to wait for Nexus 5 or the N1.
But the decision is yours

Really, petitions? Unlock bootloader and flash customROMS with kitkat and you're good to go. If you don't want, shut up with the petitions non-sense, xda is not a place for signing petitions or to even spread about it, makes the community stupid. Don't you think?
I guess this is useless. Xperia M has sony support till November so we can except something. There were also some rumors that after M2 update sony can release kitkat for M.
Sent from my C1904 using Tapatalk
KitKat update for M2 is on the way, accordig to some googleing SP also may get 4.4.2 but M is not on the list, tho i found something that KitKat for M might be in testing, or at least in consideration. I really hope well get some kind of update, at least for app2sd, as M2 will recieve support for it with KitKat update. That was officially announced by Sony...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a difference between official Sony(the company) and some very active people running a site called Xperia Blog which keeps people up to date with Sony developments.
These guys/gals at Xperia Blog have their finger on the pulse of Sony, but don't believe they speak for Sony.
Sony has, just announced(updated support pages to reflect) that phones like the Xperia T TX and V will have Android 4.3 as their final Sony release.
The Xperia M is still in it's 18month(more of a guideline than a rule ) support honeymoon period, with time on it's side for future developments.
Fingers crossed.

Exactly! sony has not said no
but they didnt say and straight yes either. so all about KK on XM is a hearsay for now i'm affraid
In my opinion a petition against sony or any oem for releasing a new software (hotfixes and such excluded) is useless, because they need to develop it and their programmers want to get paid. If they want to release it, ill be happy, when not, ill still be happy, because it will be still useable (i still use 4.1 and im happy with it)

don't think this works yet hoping so signed :good: it. And yeah we can unlock bt and install kitkat roms but we can't make it work exactly like Sony original release with Sony skin and apps.
there is no reason for not signing this petition, come on everyone!

It is not probable but it is possible they will release KK...
Just updated Update Center.
Only for xperia apps update or maybe Kitkat possibility :what:
I'm not really okay with this. You can't rush something while it's in development, or else it will result in bad quality. Perfection requires time. It's the same thing how developers hate being asked for ETAs for their ROMs. It's not an easy thing to do and it would be better if we would just wait.
But it wouldn't hurt signing this petition...
I would rather see 4.4.4 than 4.4
Xperia M updated mooted soon...maybe.
I was about to grumble about the lack of Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (BLE) support and reading through the posts I came across the following Sony forum post.
This would indicate a forth coming update if the post is taken at face value....and maybe BLE too. :victory:
These comments/post should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but the BLE issue has been known for a few months and Sony did say(as posted) they'd investigate... plus a lot of forum poster have really strong armed Sony(bless them) on this.
Does Xperia M support Bluetooth BLE?
So, maybe affirmative action and software upgrades are no more than a well documented problem away.
More than likely not Android 4.4, but nice to know we are still on Sony's radar and that they're thinking of us.
