Changing boot sounds - Sprint LG G2

So i got playing around and i changed my boot sounds found various websites. Ure stock boot sound is in root floder/system/media/audio. There names are PowerOn.ogg and PowerOff.ogg they are .ogg vorbis format ogg flak will not work try to keep the sound short and sweet 3 or 4 seconds cause of fast booting and of coarse always make a back up before changing sys files. And set all ure permissions before you modify
I have now tested also works on lollipop

Tip: You can record audio via the builtin voice recorder and change the extenstion to .ogg then rename your files accordingly.

[HACK]Use each music and each audio format with each size as Ringtone , Alert , Alarm

Hey guys
I finally found : Use .m4a , .wma , .wav and .mp3 formats as Alarm, Alert, Ringtone ((without size and length limitations))
without changing the audio name for example: Alert-01.wma or .....
first copy/paste your favorite(s) music(s) to \windows folder.
ok go [HKCU/ControlPanel/Sounds/
OEMNotifications <------------<< for Alerts
OEMAlarms <------------------<< for Alarms
OEMRingtones] <--------------<< for ringtones and Alarms
in these 3 folders add "new value" and then :
Value Name: name.mp3 or name.wav or name.wma << name=name of your audio file that pasted in WINDOWS folder.
Value Data: enter a name for your audio that you want be shown.
Value Type: String
then click "ok" to set it and go to Setting>ringtones+sounds and see
I tested with .aac , .amr , .m4a , .ac3 , .aiff , .flac , .mka , .mp2 and .ogg formats but just .m4a worked as SMS Alert.
I try it to add a small .mp4 video as ringtone but did not work.
I think if we can add more formats for Ringtones Category it will be possible to have video as ringtone.
IMPORTANT: If you use a long music as sms alert you would not be able to stop playing it, so you must shutdown your phone.
do not forget THANKS
Great!
A big-big thank you for this!
I don't know how did you find this out, but this is great!
I always had to rewrite the notification sounds in the registry after changing the ringtone, they somehow it got resetted to none after, but now this problem is gone.
I can change notification sounds and ringtones like it was factory implanted.
Thank a lot!
cheers and Happy New Year to you!
PS.: If you could find the reg key to stop converting down the resolution of pictures attached to an e-mail, you'll be a HERO.
wait, FLAC?
Obviously, the phone can't magically transcode every format. The advantage of this approach (over the official way to install ringtones) is that you can use any format that the phone supports, instead of just a subset of them.
So no, you probably can't use FLAC. I honestly don't know why you'd want to, given the speaker quality of the phone, but you can use any file that the phone could play through its media player, for example (includes AAC/M4A, for example, which I don't think is normally allowed for ringtones).

FLAC
Free Lossless Audio Codec. The highest quality in music/sound.
I think using mp3 as a ringtone is more than enough.
Hey guys
Thanks.
I'm not expert. I just tried all formats to see is it possible or not to complete my theory.
I have an audio converter and I tried this method for all formats that was known as audio ,but with these 4 formats and even with the most popular format .mp3 we got it.
It was one of main favorites that all of us needed and now it is possible.
I am so happy.
I wish everyone enjoy.
Sorry for my bad english.

Hi
You can copy and paste your audio files using Windows Phone Device Manager or File Explorer installed on your device.
For these actions your device must be full unlocked.
Important and Useful
Hi
l deleted this post because it was a stupid mistake.
I want say excuse me for this mistake.
All audio files must be in windows folder.
Sorry and sorry and sorry.

Hi
If you want add SMS Alerts to your device easily and without replacing them to WINDOWS folder :
Just sync them via zune as ringtone then go:
[HKCU/ControlPanel/Sounds/CustomRingtones]
they must be there. ( I suggest you for simplify your action and name your Alerts to: sms1, sms2,....)
In the path you must see your audio files with their name. OK
now remember their VALUE NAME (example : 8d.mp3) and go to
[HKCU/ControlPanel/Sounds/OEMNotifications]
In the new value you want to add, in VALUE NAME type exact value name shown in CustomRingtones and press ok. done
Note: every audio files that sync as RINGTONE via Zune are not required to move to Windows folder.
again sorry for my bad english .

Works with Alarm ?? .. or i must copy my mp3 file in Windows folder if i want change my alarm ?
Hi
Yes it works but you know well that when you want to add audio files as ringtone via zune it must be smaller than 1MB.
Therefore if you want to use a fav music az alarm you can sync it as music and move it to Windows folder by FileExplorer.
If somebody could change the Zune limitations for ringtones via registry on PC all of our problem would be solved.
Still not working for me. Anyone else having issues with the alert tones not showing up?

[Q] Ringtone/Music Editor

Can I get some ideas on a decent ringtone editor? I'd like to be able to cut up some of my music and since most of the music is encoded with WMAF I'd need to be able to edit WMAF files. I also have some music downloaded via iTunes so it would be good to also be able to edit m4p files as well.
How about converting m4p files into a format Android likes?
Thanks,
Brian
if your talking about on the device, ringdroid is the best, but it doesn't show up in the market for me so you'll have to go find the apk. it is/was a free app so don't worry about piracy.
on the computer, personally i use Magix Ringtone Maker. it's not free but its built for ringtones. it's worked with any file i've tossed at it and allows up to 4 tracks to be used. and you can also save your work if your working on a complicated ringtone. it's made my life a lot easier since for some of my tones i've combined different parts of a song or put multiple sound clips together and with the 4 tracks it's really nice. you can also boost the volume levels and add fade ins and outs.

One other alternative is to use Zedge where you can search for the ringtones you want and download them directly from the app.

good point. zedge has a lot of really nice stuff. especially for notifications. i have about a dozen ringtones through them. but still prefer to make my own.
I always used audacity to make mp3 ringtones out of music. I don't know if it works with other types of music files, but for mp3 it's awesome.

I can't look it up here at work, so I don't know who the dev was, but there was an app in the market called Ringtone Editor Maker that was based on the Ringdroid source code, but added fading in/out functionality. Not sure if it'll show up in the Market for 4.0 devices, but give it a shot.
EDIT: Here it is: Ringtone Maker
+1 for Ringdroid. has done everything i ever wanted it to do. perfectly.

Music Player playing ringtones with my music??!

Yes I'm wondering what would be the easiest fix for this. Whenever I am listening to music through the stock music player, either through my head phones and the car, it mixes up and plays my ringtones and notification sounds along with my music which is annoying lol. Anyone have any ideas?
You could hide the folders using a . In front of the name then manually place copies of the ringtones into the system ringtone folder if youre talking about downloaded ringtones i had the issue before and it was the simplest fix i could come up with aside from manually excluding the folders everytime i opened the music player using a 3rd party player like sony walkman and winamp etc which was alot more of a hassle than hiding the folders and copying the files to system tones when i changed roms

Sounds to me like you might have your ringtones in the media folder. Move them into the notifications/ringtones folder that should take care of ya.

Just to clear it up b4 you get lost doing this.. The ringtone folder is inside the media folder. But yes switching the ringtones over to the proper folder will fix this issue.

[Q] Touch sounds

Quickie....is it possible to change touch sounds? Currently on Jellyverse, (All hail Shadow_god), im getting a bit worn on the "bloop'bloops". i know i can turn that function off but.....there was an app once that changed the ogg sound file via playstore but didnt work too great
Your touch sounds reside in system/media/audio/ui folder.
You can push different sounds from other ROMs. (Copy and paste)
If you pull from other ROMs and put on your SD Card you can preview the sound with the music player before you push them.
Also if you have an mp3/4 to ogg converter you can make your own sounds.

Custom Startup Sound for Sprint Galaxy Note II

I wanted a different startup sound on my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II so I created my own .wav file then converted it to an .ogg file and renamed it PowerOn.ogg.
Then I went to system/media/audio/ui/spr and I renamed the existing PowerOn.ogg to PowerOnn.bak
Then I copied the PowerOn.ogg file I made and pasted it in the same folder
Reboot and it should work, mine does. I noticed there are many PowerOn.ogg files in this folder and some of the other folders in the system/media/audio/ui folder, I guess I got lucky and changed the right one.
Here is the sound I used, it is a clip from the song that was the theme song for the TV show Sons of Guns.
Here is the full song on youtube, if you like it then you will like my PowerOn sound.
"Shelter Me" by Tab Benoit - Sons Of Guns Theme Song - YouTube
I hope to attach the file here.
Let me know if others have success with this. As I stated, this does work on the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II that I use.
Custom Shutdown Sound
Well I changed my shutdown sound also. The sound I used is one that sounds like an electrical short like the phone is literally frying, its funny..
I went to system/media/audio/ui/ and the file name is PowerOff.ogg, renamed to PowerOff.bak, then I moved the new PowerOff.ogg file to the directory and rebooted and it works great. I will attach the sound file, it is pretty neat since it sounds like the electronics is shorting out. Hope this helps anyone wanting to do the same.
Here is another startup sound, I downloaded a sonar sound, then made the single sound into ongoing sonar pings, then adjusted the volume, it was way to loud, then I adjusted the speed of play to give it the sound I wanted, I have attached the file needed for the phone, the PowerOn.ogg and I attached the same in a .wav format so you can listen to it before you actual install it. This dawned on me after I thought about it. This one zip has both so you can listen to it, and if you like it the file is there to place on the phone.
Enjoy..
