Hello,
I'd like to know how to reset a Galaxy Nexus phone and make sure the next owner won't be able to recover my data.
Do I just need to wipe the data partition? Can anybody point me to the correct guide to do it?
I'd also like to know how to switch from plain Android 4.3.3 (updated from 4.0.4) to CyanogenMod 10.2.1.
Is there a guide to do this on galaxy nexus?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I woke up this morning and have been faced with the Encryption Unsuccessful error message. What's weird, is that I haven't done anything special on my rom these last few days.
Since then, I can't access my phone, and I can't even access my /data partition from CWM. I've read some threads about some similar issues on this forum but mostly for the Captivate phone, and rarely for the Galaxy nexus. A solution would be to use one SDCard as a /data partition, but since the Galaxy Nexus seems to lacks such interface, I'm quite stuck.
If someone as an idea how to be able to mount again my /data partition in CWM, I would be able to wipe and re-install everything.
I was running the rom Paranoid Android 1.4 with CWM 6.0 on a GSM Galaxy Nexus bought in Switzerland.
Thanks in advance for your help
Julien
I've been able to return back to the stock rom (Jelly Bean) following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366806
Still don't know what happened and I lost all my datas, but at least the phone is workin' now.
Hello. I'm kinda new to this.
Today I tried (like some kind of noob) to install the Cyanogenmod 10.1 on my SGN2 without checking any tutorial and without know ANYTHING about ROMs and everything.
So now I'm stuck on the bootloop and don't know what to do.
To do this I just downloaded the Rom Manager app. I just downloaded the ROM and installed it. I did zero things before that.
I just want to get my phone back, doesnt matter if I lose all my data; I just want it working again.
I hope you can help me.

I fixed it already. I just followed the instructions here http://droidviews.com/2012/how-to-recover-when-your-android-device-is-caught-in-bootloop/ (the Method 1, did all the steps).
I hope this helps anyone.
I rooted my galaxy nexus i9250 about 1 week ago, I then got a new system update on my phone for the new version of jelly bean, having not really thought about it (yes i know this was incredibly stupid), i downloaded this new update and installed it. Massive mistake, my phone is now stuck on the galaxy nexus screen and i cannot get into my phone. I also have no backup of my phone so if my phone is now soft bricked will i loose all my contacts, messages and photos etc. so basically what i want to know is..... can i unbrick my phone and if so can i do it and save all my data (photos, sms and contacts etc). please any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

flash stock images except userdata.img from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
if still in a bootloop, unfortunately you must wipe data or flash userdata.img
Greetings,
I've been playing around with my Galaxy W far too much. I probably got stuck at boot with 3 or 4 different roms.
Currently I'm on a semi working version (AFAIK the wifi isn't working) but I'm surprised it works at all, since I have a 3.* kernal for a 4.* android version...
I've been told about a tool that does a factory reset to your phone. It pretty much wipes everything in it and restores the software in it to the way it was the day it left the factory.
My question is, where can I find that piece of software? I've been told something about a Samsung program for developers or something that just requires your phone drivers in a Windows computer and it will restore through the usb your phone...
Can anyone please shed some light on this?
Thanks
Regards.

The program You are looking for is the Samsung Kies, but I would recommend you to use Odin instead. Download the latest 2.3.6 firmware for your region (Google Sammobile, you gonna need to register), and search for it. After it follow one of the several tutorials for flashing with Odin and you're gonna have a fresh working phone again.
After using odin, boot into stock recovery, wipe data/factory reset and you're good to start messing around again
I want to know something about Android Phone.
Can Android Phone reset all the data if am flashing this.
Pls reply.
Thanks
