[Q] No more PA or ASOP settings? - Paranoid Android Q&A

So, I updated to PA 4.2 BETA1 20140318 (Not sure if this matters, but just making sure) and I'm loving the KitKat OS so far, but I noticed the DPI was set to phone UI, so I went to settings to change the DPI for some of my apps like the launcher and stuff, only to find out there's no PA prefences, or any ASOP settings, like assigning items to the quick settings.
Is this some kind of glitch that may have occurred while installing or something? Or was this intentional? It's kinda bugging me knowing I can't modify the phone like in PA 3.99
(P.S: Using Galaxy Nexus, just in case this matters...)

If you take the time to read the change log thread, you wouldn't have needed to post this
Sent from my Nexus 5

This is not a bug PA is completely rewriting the ROM from the ground up making the rim feel more "googly" so you won't find a ROM setting section in settings also since it still in beta and PA is starting from scratch most functionality from 3.99 is not there but you have to give PA credit for building one of the best looking/ feeling roms ever made.

The change log literally explains every feature, where to find the settings for them, and how to use them. That is actually the entire purpose of the thread. How can one possibly say there was nothing in the about rom settings?

The way people ask for the PA settings around these forums you would think it was code for crack!

[4.2][ParanoidAndroid] discussion thread

Okay PA ppl, i know you love PA. i've been using it over my SGS2 since then.
We all know that the hybrid engine is wicked. But since 4.2 is out, we could expect a lot of changes from the new upcoming PA.
what i expect:
-Of course, the new QuickSettings with hybrid engine compatibility. Some says its not good. Hey, i spend more time open the settings rather than toggling those buttons all the time. Though, notification toggles are really handy, maybe we could expect those two in one pull down notification or an option to enable either.
-I have read that the lock screen will provide widget support. well thats really cool. but i can't exactly say how hybrid would be implemented in that portion.
anyways. have your thoughts shared here about the 4.2+PA.
Navbar customisation like AOKP. I know by shrinking status bar will make the navbar being shrinked also. But the problem is, the "touch area" and the glow of navbar also being small. It becomes really hard to touch (using phone mode).

everybody wanted to talk about 4.2 in the pa thread but when a specific thread is created nobody wants to talk in it... how ironic

Like ten thousand spoons? No, it's not ironic. PA users and the PA devs are in the PA thread. Seems like a no brainer. Also, a lot of people don't check General, just their favorite ROM threads.

haha. what can you say about the 4.2? is it smoother?
i havent tried out the 4.2. too lazy to try it -_-
I personally cannot wait for a 4.2 PA release. Ideally not until CDMA update is released as I am a toro user. However I'd be down to try a build out asap! Can't wait for a stable DarkPA release from DaxMax. That's what I'm patiently waiting for. Until then, 2.54 with a lot of 4.2 mods will hold me over.

Up-to-date ROM list

Hi,
In case it helps, I have an up-to-date Galaxy Note 2 ROM list kept here, which includes the Sprint model.
Someone was asking for a list in the AT&T section, so I thought I'd post this info in each section to tell people.
It's kind of a hobby, but it's kept up-to-date pretty much every day.
Some of you might find it useful.
I had been looking for this being sometimes ROMS you never know about get flooded out. This is CLEAN
Was wondering if u could add the dates they were released. I seen Clean Rom & was about to jump in then realized its no longer supported. Gonna try that JB 12 release I didnt realize was updated from 11.damn
No biggie if u cant put date,u did alot already. Just a suggestion
Good lookning out either way!!
Cool. Yea a date would be nice...

Adding a date is a good idea. It's a little cramped for space, depending on the length of the rom name. That's why I use the red dot which shows that the rom has been updated or modified in the last 7 days.
The list is checked and updated every day. The red dot, might be a couple of days out from time to time.
Thx great

Thanks. I appreciate it.
Hi,
It came to my attention that I'd forgotten to add a few roms from the `Original Android Development' sections for the different carriers.
Sorry about that. Those roms have now been added.

Just going to toss out that this has been on just about every Android news channel imaginable lately. It is certainly a great step though, and I hope to see it integrated into a framework modifier like Xposed.

Why when it is open source if you read the news article all that's needed is a git cherry pick and build. Then its done.

Things are rarely that simple, not because cherry picks don't work, but because some people are in different circumstances than your own. My current phone is a HTC One running a stock kernel, and without more sources custom kernels and ROMs are something of a tricky business right now. I prefer stock when possible, so an Xposed-style framework patch is a good way of "cherry picking" what I would like in a workable manner.
Great that you're sharing the news, but you posted in every thread already and now opened a thread in dev section =/
+1 for good intentions though

I didn't make anything, I knew full well someone would have something to say about me putting this here, I even say so in the first post. Obviously you guys are friends and you decided to take up for your Buddy which is fine with me they can pull this anytime they please.. It was only done to benefit all toro+ ROMs I'm not even mad about what he said he has a right to have an opinion and speak it freely... I'm not going to speak on it anymore.. I don't want to receive sn infraction for making more out of something than necessary... If it costs nothing to pass over this post and live your life.. I will be doing the same.. My two cents...I know goast from the forums, and he is an advanced user and a great resource to me. He's obviously pumped up about halo, and rightly so (it's a pretty amazing innovation by PA team). I'm not attacking anyone, but I like to stay informed about new things, so I appreciated his blast out. Many devs here work demanding jobs, and donate their personal time to development, so this info may help them in this fragmented crazy fast paced world. I just wanted to thank goast for the info, and impart some positive energy here. I'm not a dev, nor am I an expert, but I share goast's passion for android and desire to learn more about it. To me, that's why I love xda...I have a commercially dead device that is still extremely viable thanks to all of the great work here. Ok, I'm done...everybody enjoy halo!

[Q] Vibration problem with Illusion ROM

hi all, first off, anyone know why the Illusion ROM thread was closed?
second, i love this ROM. i really do. it's the first and only ROM other than stock TW that i've kept on my Galaxy S III for a month or more. for some reason, i just can't stand the other AOSP/AOKP/PA ROMs. not that they're bad or anything, but this ROM has something in it that just makes me love it. it grows on me.
anyways, my question is, the ROM runs great, no issues at all but...vibration.
i already turned off all the vibrations in stuff like Facebook/Messenger/Instagram etc etc, but my phone still vibrates anyways? is there another thing i forgot to turn off, or is there no fix?
Thanks!

hello..? anyone?
Closed because the dev is no longer supporting it. Once that happens 90% of posts become eta, and why no updates, type questions. That's my best guess anyway. He's working on other roms now anyway.
As for vibration, no idea. Might help if you tell us when it's vibrating. When it rings? Sms? Random? Keyboard?
Otherwise all anyone can probably tell you is turn.it off in the roms settings menu. Personally, I don't use cm type roms, so I probably wouldn't be much help here, but it may be why no one's answered.

BeanStalk 4.3 ROM for Verizon HTC One available!

I was poking around on the Cyanogen thread and discovered a BeanStalk 9/26 build that is AMAZING! Android 4.3, the works! You can find the download on the Cyanogen page here. I think we have "flyhalf205" to thank for this. Good stuff!
I know you like the Rom but usually I would wait for the dev to say something. Unless flyhalf205 says it's ok. Just don't want this forum to be like the s4 or any Samsung forum where all are negative it seems. I used flyhalfs rom or roms on the DNA and t hey were great. Just I would say let the dev get the excitment since he put it together and put the hard work in. Im just warning you since i have seen what has happened on another thread Like this
