Been fooling around for weeks now trying to install 4.4 on my T999V (Videotron)
I rerouted my phone several times, updated to the last firmware and bootloader multiple times and I am just unable to install KitKat (CM11, CarbonRom, Mokee, etc.). I tried TWRP, CWM and Philz recovery
I can install any CM based 4.3 or TW 4.3 without any issue.
Here is some info I generated to help you help me
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME - SGH-T999V
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES (6COUNT)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
Warranty BIT: 1
BOOTLOADER AP SWREV: 1
Recovery log (cant post outside links yet): https :// dl. dropboxusercontent. com/u/58113995/philz_recovery. log
Let me know if you require more details
p.s. I dont care about tripping the flash counter
I should add that since I am under EML2 firmware, I noticed that I am loosing ROOT after reboot.
Flashed the remove KNOX script, (obviously reflashed SU 1.93)
first boot I have ROOT but if I reboot again I loose it
Please flash a different Recovery. Preferably latest TWRP. After that try Liquidsmooth or Slimbean for T999.
Will give that a try after work and report back
I just want to confirm that Iwas able to install Liquid Smooth.
Dont know why CM11 or Carbon would fail.
Thnx for the help
Which Liquidsmooth?
I was struggling with T999V as well, I was wondering which Liquid smooth you installed and if you're having any problems, does HSPA+ work and maybe you even got LTE now?

I have done some testing of ROM's and Radios and I am posting my results here. Sorry I am starting a new thread on this but the 4.3 is all over the place with what is said and what is not said.
First Just so it is known where I am testing From.
Samsung Galaxy III Rooted and Running DocHoliday 4.3 no KNOX and no CIQ, rooted. Warranty Bit not tripped.
Installed Official 4.3 ROM from Sam Mobile Warranty Bit Not Tripped
Went to root with Odin root66. Odin failed Warranty Bit tripped and has remain tripped.
So now as for the testing I have done with ROMs and Modems
ROM..................Modem.................Modem Working
MJC...................MJC ....................Yes
MD5...................MD5.....................No
MD5...................MJC.....................Yes
LJC....................LJC......................No
LJC....................MJC.....................Yes
I tried to one click ODIN LJA but would not Odin
So it appears Once you put in the Official 4.3 ROM from Samsung you cannot change the bootloader and the only radio that will work is the MJC. You cannot Odin any ROM besides the official 4.3 once you have already had the Offical 4.3 installed (this may not include future ROMS like the 4.4).
You can flash any ROM from a zip file but you will have to use the MJC modem.
You can Odin recoveries TWRP and CWM or use the TWRP and CWM Respective Managers. I have used both recovery managers and they both work for installing recoveries.
I hope this clears up some things for some people and helps some.
For people who are haveing a hard time with installing and reseting a counter I have a step by step below.
1. In Odin Flash (twrp 2.6.3.0)
2. Use adb to reboot recovery (adb reboot recovery)
3. Flash custom rom (T999_4.3_UVUEMJC_deodexed2.zip)
4. Flash custom Kernel (T999_AT&T_UCUEMJ2_Insecure_kernel.zip)
5. Installed and used 'Triangle Away' to reset Custom Binary Counter to 0 (Optional)
6. Use Odin to flash official MJC ROM (Grabbed from SAMMOBILE.COM)
Phone is back to stock and working, It still has the 'Warranty Bit 1' set though.

With the S4 for Tmobile , Ive tried this method, Knox does not allow any kind of write to thhe phone using odin.
It says FAIL every time. Triangle gone also us useless.
WHat samsung has done is placed a set of rules in the bootloader which checks teh phone to see if it fits samsungs rules as a legitimate rom, modem and kernel.
If your phone doesnt have a match for any of these it wont let anything install.
For me, I cant install a 4.3 factory rom. Somehow knox knows Im nolonger factory and now will not let me go BACK to factory. It makes me stay out of warranty so I cant get a refund or any warranty work.
I can install some custom roms but some dont work. It has something to do with the kernels they use. It seems there must be certain requirements knox needs to allow installs and this also is dependent of whether your phone was rooted before or after knox was installed.

When you say it fails, is it Odin that says fail or will the phone won't boot? when I odin the official 4.3 ROM it says it fails at the end but the ROM actually installs and runs.
Have you tried booting the ROM after a failed attempt? I would be curious to know if it works or not. Wish I had a S4 to test with
OK folks, in order to keep this thread as tidy as possible, going to link and close this one..

Hi there, I have been trying to change my rom today. I did so long time ago, but today when I updated found out about KNOX and its restrictions.
After updating to Phoenix 4.4.2 rom, I can't change ROM; the only one that succeded was N7100UBUFND2_N7100ZTOFND2 (official)...
Now when I try to install any other rom I find a "sboot.bin... error" at ODIN.
What to do? I already tried changing from official 4.4.2 to one without SNOX; tried applying Dr. Ketan patch with same error; even Dr.Ketan's multitool doesn't work.
I've been spending all the day reading through the forums without good results.
Also, in Download Mode, it shows:
Current Binary: Official
System Status: Custom
Knox Warranty void: 1
AP SWREV: A2
What can I do? I don't like Samsung's Official Bloatware...

OS NAME: KIT KAT
OS Version: 4.4.2
BOOT LOADER VERSION: N7100UBUFND2
Kernel: Linux
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-1461276
Dalvik VM version: 1.6.0
ThankS!
First thing you needs to know is
-Don't spam development section by posting question here
-Read before flashing blindly otherwise you may brick device..
-You have flash official kitkat and your bootloader is new. so you can't doengrade.
To use earlier version
-Use mobile odin to flash stock ROM
OR
use Custom ROM
I've been trying to unroot and go back to stock for a couple of days now with no luck. I was running latest Omni and TWRP. When I try to flash via Odin it says FAILED then reboot hangs on Samsung GN2 screen. When I go to "Downloading..." screen it shows:
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1
AP SWREV: A3
SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 3, BINARY: 1
I wish I could help but I am having a similar issue. If you have had any success with this please let me know what you have found. Good luck!
Y`all need to ODIN flash a firmware version that does not have the boot.IMG. You most likely have a firmware version that has a locked boot loader.
MK6 or the latest NE5 are such animals.
You also need to add more info for people to help. Like where Odin failed, why you are flashing back, what version of Odin, etc.
Makes it easier to tell you a possible solution.
I had no issues coming back to stock after running pretty much all the 4.4 AOSP roms, going to sell the device so I wanted to sell it stock.
I was on the MC3 or LJ2 bootloader, not sure which one but I rarely, if ever, change radios. I first went back to TW 4.1 using Odin and following the steps on this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275844
Guys,
I have not kept up with Samsung phones and am totally lost. A friend brought me an ATT Note ii that to their knowledge had been rooted. When they tried to do an OTA update, it screwed up and now when i go to download mode, here is what is says:
ODIN MODE
Product name: SGH-I317
Custom Binary Download: YES (10 Counts)
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1
RP SWREV: A2
When I try to load a stock rom via Odin, it will go all the way to the end before it errors and show in Red "unsupported"
I would appreciate any help you have on this. I am totally lost but if anyone can fix it, you guys can, Thanks in advance
after doing a little research, i was able to load TWRP recovery, a pre-rooted stock rom of 4.3 and the 4.3 bootloader all though ODIN and got the phone back up and running. My next question is, with my knox warranty showing 1, what are my options as far as roms go? Am i stuck with the stock 4.3 ?

There are 4.4.2 ROMS in the Android Development threads. Remember to do backups before flashing

I'm in the same boat here...would you mind telling me how you were able to do this, and specifically, where did you find the rom and bootloader downloads?

If you can get into download mode, can flash 2.8.1.3 twrp via Odin.
Download the latest TWRP from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/t0lte
Copy a custom ROM to your external SD card.
Flash TWRP via Odin. Boot into recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, wipe system, flash ROM from external SD card, reboot.
I was trying to change the firmware of my S3 but in the middle of the process the computer went off. Now is bricked showing the KIES message, when a try to go back to stock using the only official firmware that is in Sammobile it says AUTH error.
The screen of the S3 in download mode says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I747
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD:NO
CURRENT BINARY:SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
WARRANTY BIT: 1
BOOTLOADER RP SWREV: 2
It was running the 4.2.2 that I got via OTA but I can not use the same because I do not have access to the recovery mode. I think that if I could find a .tar 4.2.2 I could solve the problem. Please guys I need your help on this. Any suggestion o way to solve?

Were you running 4.2.2 or 4.4.2? I thought the AT&T SGS3 (i747) went from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 to 4.3 to 4.4.2 for official ROMs. The 4.1.1 stock ROM on sammobile was the last full release, all since have been updates. The WARRANTY BIT: 1 output would indicate it was on at least the 4.3 release if not one of the 4.4.2 releases; NE4, NJ1, or NJ2.
While I am waiting for a reply I will search to see if any of the devs created a 4.4.2 stock tar, I have seen in done with an older version, but it is a rare occurrence.
Simplest way to get the phone up and running would be to flash TWRP and then cm11. By booting CM11, you could determine the bootloader and modem. Once these two things are know, you may be able to flash an updated bootloader, modem, and ROM from TWRP.

To be sincere I am not pretty sure, I think it was 4.4.2. I can not enter to recovery so installing the last one through it is not an option.

If you can get to download mode you could do as audit13 suggested and flash the TWRP.tar.md5 (custom recovery) with Odin or Heimdall and then flash either CM11 as he suggested, or one if enewman17's stock 4.4.2 roms.
thank you all guys. I installed TWRP then CM11 and now is back! I appreciate your help. Have the best wishes and Merry Christmas! Greetings

Yeah, I was about to suggest flashing twrp but glad to find that you have fixed it. I used this same method to recover a galaxy tab GT-P6210 a while ago
