I have watched a thousand set up videos and from when I see am doing everything right. I have read, reread and reread a thousands posts and still can't get Hulu to work on my Ouya.
At best I can get it to play the into or commercials but never a show.
here is how it is set up
I have Hulu Plus enabled and Login. I put my username and password in
Under streaming I have quality set 720P 2000K
Default CDN set to Akamai
ad Quality 720p 2000k
Network pre-roll off
Pre-roll add set to 0
Trailing ads set to 0\
Enable Commercial Breaks 0ff
when I go into hulu to play a tv show it opens the hulu streaming pop up, then a pop up to pick quality, no matter which option I pick it then pops up a window that says "Play back failed" one or more items failed to play. check the log file for details.
any help?

did you install hulu from the play store or did you install it from an APK? if you installed it from an apk remove it and install it from the play store. when i installed it from an apk or the amazon app store hulu never worked passed commercial.

I live in Germany and I have a subscription to Netflix that I use and watch through Premiumize.me Chrome extension.
I am currently trying to figure out how I can do the same with the Proxydroid on my tablet, to be able to connect both my Chrome and Play Store to, say, a US IP so I can view that store.
Is this possible using ProxyDroid? Assuming I've already added the Play Store and Chrome to the individual bypass category.
Does anyone know to make TWC TV app work on FTV? I side loaded the app from Google Play store. It installs fine. But when I try to open it, it will automatically prompt me to upgrade or cancel. If I cancel, it shuts down. If I upgrade, it takes me to the Amazon App Store and gives me the option to install it for free. I click on "Free" and the error message says "TWC TV is incompatible with your device. You cannot purchase this app from this device".
My app version is 3.5.0.36.
Problem with APK downloader. Fixed.
Rechecked the version on Google Play store and the version number listed is different (as in higher than the one I have on FTV). Opened Google Play app on FTV and ran the upgrade and everything runs fine now.
The online APK downloader gave me an older version for downloading (using the website and not the chrome extension). Must be some caching going on within their servers to not to go to Google Play store if it already has the APK in its inventory. If so, there is a bug within their version checking algorithm that allows old cached APKs to be presented as latest.
I just got this side loaded onto a FireTV Stick and I can login and get to the search screen and where is asks me to select guid DVR or live TV but I can't select any of the options to watch live tv... did you manage to get it working?

I am trying to tinker around with some DLNA playback.. And not having it work..
I installed uPnP inspector, on my desktop.. Both my devices are right there.. But youtube has no 'cast to' icon which I thought it was supposed to have if DLNA was activated. I have a few other DLNA comnpatible players who also dont seem to be picking up any of my FireTvs
Do I need to add a DLNA client to (each of) the box or should this work by default ??
PlayTo is a good app for sending videos. An alternative that I prefer is Pushbullet. If you have XBMC/Kodi installed, install the Pushbullt addon and authorize it. It uses your Gmail account to send all files to your devices. You use your Gmail to log in also. After installing the addon, go to your program addons and edit the setting of the Pushbullet addon. You will want to set it to interrupt or media will not play til other media has stopped, and you will want to set it to play everything immediatly. I prefer Pushbullet over DLNA, cause you do not have to be worried about being connected to the same network. You can send several differnt types of things with Pushbullet, you can even send browser urls, which means if you are watching a video on one of your devices, you send the url to Kodi and the video will play on the Fire TV. Does not work for all video site, but it works for a lot of sites. BTW, you can find the pushbullet addon in services on Kodi, and it creates a UI in the program addons. So go to Setting, Addons, Get addons, All, Services and you will find it there.

I will give it a look but I am specifically trying to get DNLA working for a few video apps that should 'see' my boxes easily.. Popcorn time should give me a watch to button from my phone tablet or ipad..
Theres a spread of these.. iPlayer.. Etc.. Not all being inside kodi..
Really I just want a chromecast app.. but filing that DLNA should be the same.. Just it says DNLA is already built in, but my boxes while visible on the network, are not generating a watch to output location on any dlna enabled apps.
I told you that you need an app to send from your phone and I also told you that XBMC/Kodi was a good reciever app to recieve media. Also, Popcorn Time has a setting to use external players to send media to other devices. Just look in the list of players and install one. I recommend installing Playto and Wondershare player on you Android device to use as a sender, and simply using XBMC/Kodi on your Fire TV as the reciever. There is a setting in Kodi to turn on UPNP, turn it on and when you play videos in Wondershare or Playto on your Android device it will let you send the media to Kodi on your Fire TV. Playto is good for sending media, cause any app that has a share button can be shared with Playto and used to send videos etc. Say you are using the youtube app and wanna send a video to your Fire TV, click the share button, pick Playto, and when the video starts playing click the yellow play button and it will start playing on your Fire TV through Kodi. Of course you need an app to communicate with other devices, cause the device cannot do it on its own. Example, you have wifi, but how are you supposed to connect if there isn't a settings app to show you connections? Your device has DLNA/UPNP, but how can you use it without an app telling you where to send and recieve content? There has to be software to run the hardware. Think of it like a car, if you put it in drive where is it gonna go without the driver? The driver is the software the car is the hardware.
The Airplay apps for the AFTV are all unreliable. Is there an alternate method I can use to send video from my iphone or macbook laptop to the AFTV? Airplay is the only reason I continue to own an AppleTV. I'd like to get rid of it if I can only find a way to send video.
Thanks,
Joe
Pushbullet. Install Pushbullet on you phone, tablet or PC. It can be installed on PCs by an app or by using Firefox, Chrome etc extentions. Then install the Pushbullet addon inside Kodi. Its a service addon, but it creates an interface within the program addons. After installing the Pushbulllet addon in Kodi, find Pushbullet in the program addons and go to its settings and set it to interrupt and also set it to play instantly, cause if you do not the content you send from your device will not start playing until other media has finished playing. The best part is that you do not have to be on the same connection cause everything is sent by using your Gmail account. Just log into Pushbullet using Gmail and every device you have Pushbullet installed on will be connected. You can send things to one device or multiple devices at the same time. You can even send inbrowser videos from most sites. Lets say you are on your phone or tablet and wanna send a video from a site you are on, just click share and pick to share it with pushbullet and the video on that page will start playing inside Kodi on your Fire TV. Does not work on all sites, but most. If you have the firfox extention installed on your PC you can do the same, when you wanna send a browser video just click the Pushbullet icon and send it to Kodi. You can also set the Pushbullet up so that when you get notifications on your devices that they will show inside Kodi. If you choose to do that you will have to edit the settings inside the Pushbullet addon in Kodi cause you can pick the default amount of time that the notifications show, and I think the default only shows them for a second or two, but you can make them show for a lot longer.
Okay, I am lazy so I cut and pasted my review on Amazon about their video app not working on my Note 8.0.
So here we go!
UPDATE! I figured out how to properly install the app without any issues... boy Amazon screwed the pooch with making all standalone compnents rely on underground authentication. Seems that Kindle is the main culprit, so this is my fix.
Remove kindle app and do a fresh install of underground. Then on a pc login to your account and remove your previous android device or all of them as every time you start clean with a new login you create a new device. I had 8 of them! Geezo! Then go a head and install the video app. Once done contact amazon and have them transfer your prime subscription over to a new amazon account for your prime videos. Once the new account is made with prime, start the video app and select other account. Login to your new account with prime, and your done. If you already logged in with the old account, log out and login again with the prime account.
To use kindle don't... I really really mean it. DONT USE PLAY STORE! Download the Amazon version of Kindle or the Samsung version from Samsung. They are both the same version, just samsung has a white background with free monthly books. Login to kindle with your kindle account. This way you have segregated kindle from video authentication.
The Google version as it is released in a higher version than the others, and breaks the video app. Once the video app is broken you must uninstall kindle and the video app, cross fingers and reinstall video app. If the app fails then uninstall video app and underground. Then install underground and video app. Geezo! Yes it is a crummy app if you have kindle already installed, if you don't then it seems to load and run just fine from the get go.
Had to uninstall because I was cleaning up for more space and to reset all my accounts along with Google Ads ID. Once I reinstalled the app fails when the red circle starts. So I am SOL with my prime subscription, as I only have a tablet to use the app. I think the developer sets some policies that are not cleared when the app is removed, and when the app is reinstalled it gets hosed. What really sucks is the lack of support to assist, as they expect the app to allow you to get into settings.
