Just to let anyone that may be interested know . . .My WD 1T travel drive works great with the Note 10.1 2014. Thought I'd give it a try and glad it does.

This adapter by Samsung is originally for the Galaxy II but it will work on the Note as well, right?
I'm thinking of getting it and just want to check if anyone else has used it.
Yes it will.
Also this is a cheaper one, why dont u try it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/FoneM8-ADAP...K/ref=dp_cp_ob_ce_title_1/277-0346756-7564665

Nice one, they even ship outside UK. That is usually the problem when buying from Amazon.co.uk. Never know if you'll be able to get it until check out time.
While I'm at it, is it a good idea to also get an OTG USB host converter?
What could I use it for?
Hi Guys I like to find a USB OTG (on-the-go) cable to be able to connect all this stuff(for example External Hard Disks,Key Boards, ect.) into the Galaxy Note or any other USB host Samsung Galaxy Device(like my Galaxy S3)Please I need recomendations I do a search don't find to mush for the G Note just for the Motorola Xoom I plan to read that also to see can work
ignore
Just get one off eBay. Theyre like 1 dollar. Every OTG Cable will work. You wont need a specific one for the Note.

Could be wrong, but seem to remember reading that this won't work with Android.
I heard this kind of cable worked with Asus tablets like the Transformer or Transformer Prime (probably all of them anyway), so I'm not sure Android is a limiting factor. But the one I tried with my GN 10.1 didn't work . Should give it another try since I got un update since then.

My Gtab has a dock with an RJ-45 LAN connection that works. I guess it's not a traditional USB interface as it uses the large connection on the bottom of the tablet.

Yeah, I've seen several on Amazon that report working with the Transformer.
I have a USB Ethernet adapter that worked perfectly with my Transformer Prime 201 before I switched to the Note 10.1. When I attach it to the Note via the USB OTG adapter, it throws the "High Power USB Device" warning and doesn't work. I need to track down a powered USB hub and test it out with that.
I have a USB powered WD passport.
I want to connect this passport to my galaxy s3 which can play all types of video formats and have my galaxy s3 which is hooked up to the tv hdmi play movies.
How would I do this and what would I need to buy as far as cables?
Doing this for a friend's wedding gift Help me out brothers

Hmm. That is ok I guess. I was thinking this. I buy him an external hard drive, and some connectors and he can travel and play his movies with him his android and some cables wherever he goes for his honeymoon etc.

Is there a more specific name for a product like this with android, where I can plug in an external HD and have it play media?
How good is that product you posted. Would you personally recommend it? It would be nice if it were in the US/on amazon
Don't have an answer for your questions, since I haven't got any experience You could do a google search and see if someone else has posted any experience with that).
The other solution I was thinking is to buy him a 64GB miniSD card and a cable to connect his phone with the TV set. You must consider though fact that playing movies from his phone will deplete his battery quite quick! I have a 64GB Sandisk card and is more than enough!
Btw are you sure he is going to use it on his honeymoon? (His wife might not find it a good idea)...
Try this if you are still looking for a solution also

Does your tv have WiFi?
Hello,
We're in the market for phone upgrades. I currently have a Pixel XL and my spouse still has his Nexus 5x. We're giving some thought to the SGS9+, if we can find a BOGO type deal as TMO did several times last year. While they aren't that exciting, I do like the addition of Samsung Pay that works with any strip reader and some of the other features (though we aren't completely sold on it yet).
We're traveling and typically bring a streaming stick which works in most places. But the internet in our current place is just too show so it doesn't work at all. We happened to have an external hard drive with some media files on it but we're currently having to use a Windows laptop to run the files since the stuck doesn't have a USB in.
I'm wondering if it's possible to use the SGS9+ as an OTG to read the external hard drive while using the HDMI out at the same time? Can I charge too? Would some sort of a USB C dock work for this? Or something else? Thanks so much in advance!

Maybe to late of a reply, but i think your refering to the samsung dex pad. It has 2 usb ports, 1 hdmi out, ethernet. Phone connects to dock via usb c. Kind of expensive tho $99. You can also buy a generic version that does the same thing on amazon for $30. It doesnt look as pretty, but functionality is the same.
