[Q] L900 Note 2-Installtion aborted - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am currently running Classic Rom 4.3. i booted into Philz recovery and wiped Dalvik, cache, factory data reset, and clean to install a new Rom. I tried to install macksROM_Allstar 5.0 from the phones internal card in the download folder and received the following error:
FORMAT () EXPECTS 5 ARGS, GOT 3
E: ERROR IN DATA/MEDIA/0/DOWNLOAD/MACKSROM_ALLSTAR_5.0.ZIP

MacksROM is 4.1.2. Can do it with Knox bootloader I don't think. Have to flash back

Let me guess you are using philz. You need version 6.07.9 not the newer ones.

Correct me if I'm wrong, you mentioned flash from your internal card? You should save your zip file in the external card then flash from it.

Thanks! That was it.
That was the problem. thanks so much jlmancuso! :good:

Galaxy Pocket S5300 MAK-DROID Help Needed

Hello guys, couple days back I quit smoking so i had some spare time and I thought I could improve my 1st android phone. Well, I am smoking this very moment and I have a very nice paperweight on my desk.
ROM: t=1873652
I've tried installing the ROM, but it didn't work. I've done everything exactly as in the tutorial, but I got stuck.
So I got past these steps:
* Download the CWM for pocket from here
* Copy update.zip into your internal memory
* Go to recovery mode (Vol-up + Home + Power)
* Choose apply Update from SD card
* Select update.zip file
* Wipe data factory reset,
* Wipe Cache data
but then I tried installing the ROM itself from the SD card I got the error "E:Can't mount /sdcard/"
I can't cancel the installation or boot my system, I don't have a data cable, although I have a card reader if that helps. My android was on the S5300XXLF5 stock firmware and I am using CWM v5.0.2.8. Oh and everytime I try to reboot the device from CWM menu it just freezes all I'm seeing is the console with the "Rebooting..." at the bottom of it.
What should I do now? I want to either get this ROM working or just getting my phone to work with any firmware - any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
update1
I get an error even before that, it pops up during "Data Factory Reset" procedure:
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblklp2
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping format...
Data wipe complete.
oh and BTW, CWM getting stuck in the "rebooting..." stage is a perk of this build apparently...
Where did you get your ROM? Did you download the Mak-Droid ROM?
Copy the zip file to your sdcard. After you get the CWM running, you proceed to installing your new ROM. Read the instructions carefully.
And if you are stuck in rebooting, if you read the instructions- it tells you to manually reboot by pressing the power button. After this reboot, it will go back to the original MOD the you reboot again.
This should work for you...
I had the same experience. Just manually reboot the phone.
It is stated on the instructions that the reboot option on CWM for galaxy pocket doesn't work as of now.

use for internal sd card
dont use ext sd card ( micro sd )
because this phone doesnt have fully compatible with CWM yet
hope helps =)
place your zip file in sdcard bro,not at ext sdcard
and try to flash it properly and right way
the files paced in sdcard/phone memory
1.update.zip(root)
2.cwm
3.deodex(if needed)
4.custom rom
Enjoy the mak-droid rom:good:
Clear dalvik cache too
Sent from my GT-S5300 using xda app-developers app
If you applied update.zip after that - 1)put the file on the root (I.e when you open my files the first page that appears)
2)reboot to cwm
3)wipe data/factory;wipe cache partition;and go to advanced and select wipe dalvik cache
4)now go back and select install zip from sdcard
5)choose the file and select yes
6)wait installing....completed
7)reboot
Wait 2-5 min to load the rom and then enjoy..

Our device does not have an sd-ext partition. Use the latest TWRP 2.6 and erase system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
Sent from my One V using xda premium
Ohh, I have been using TWRP 2.3
Thanks! I'll try flashing TWRP 2.6
After trying to wipe it in TWRP it says unable to wipe sd/ext
Sd_ext is just a partition on you sdcard that does not exist unless you have created one.
It's just stating could not format sd_ext because it's not there
Do not fret my friend, it still factory resets like it's supposed to

What? You flash tar files with Odin not zips, and are you using the PC version?

Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem. I'm having the same issue after doing a soft reset through the settings menu. Through Philz touch recovery wiping dalvik cache does not work and same error messages you receive come up when trying to wipe user data/factory reset through recovery. This is becoming really frustrating because I know there is a fix I just can't find it anywhere. Please help!!!!!!!
You need to debrick image and reflash/fix the corrupt partition on your phone. Go to the following thread. .http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...a-unbrick-t-mobile-s-iii-qhsusbdload-t2904318 and if you follow exactly, down to the millisecond, as instructed, you will succeed, that is assuming your device is still able initiate into "download." mode and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you have your device specific debrick image. . If and when your device does succumb and is back online, give your utmost thanks to docholiday77.

[Q] Nexus wont start can't install CM11 using CWM gives error

My Galaxy Nexus is rooted and I have installed CWMR Touch v 5.5.0.4 Beta 6 long time ago. I wanted to flash to the CM11 MOD for Galaxy Nexus I wiped factory reset and wiped dalvik cache and cache partition then when I tried to install from sd card it gave me this error :
Code:
set_metada_recursive : some changes failed E: Error in /sdcard/0/cm-11-20140703-NIGHTLY-maguro.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Now, my phone just won't startup (probably because there is no software in it except CWM). What is wrong? I thought I could download the stock Android but I can't access the SD card.
EDIT : Could it because my CMW is outdated if so, since I can't access the SD card from my computer how can I upgrade it?
U need to update

Unable to flash ROM, assert failed

I am trying to flash leedroid stable. I have:
- Unlocked bootloader
- Installed latest TWRP as of today
- Downloaded ROM to internal SD
- Made a full backup
- Wipe system data cache via factory reset
- Flashed ROM
And received error 7, assert failed package_ extract_dir(/system, system)
I believe TWRP shouldn't be mounting system read only, in Mount the checkbox for mount read only is not checked. And when I reboot recovery it doesn't prompt me to swipe to allow system modifications.
Another question,
I see that leedroids install instructions say to format data, deleting entire internal storage? This is the only thing I haven't done; I thought since twrp can decrypt data now, all that needs to be done is wipe system, data, cache like usual?
So, why am I getting the assert failed error, and is it related to not formatting data?
TWRP log attached. Also tried flashing from external SD and same error.
Thanks
Which version of TWRP are you using?
Sorry, just read and you said the latest.
Did it ask you to make changes?

3.0.2.4,
When I first booted into recovery to make a backup I believe it asked me, I can't remember whether or not I swiped to allow modifications. But it hasn't asked me again since then. Now I'm just looking in Mount, and I've unchecked the box that says mount system as read only. Still get same error.
Updated OP with TWRP log. Also tried flashing from external SD and got same error.
