When I go out of chrome, and then push the task manager button to open chrome again, I get a large black area on the screen. To see the page normal again, I have to touch the screen.

I have the same issue, no idea why this is happening.
Same here.
I get this as well - I'm guessing it's a Chrome software issue.

Just wondering for those of you who have the device already, have you guys found some neat features/tricks using 4.0 that haven't been documented or heavily advertised?
I would love to make a list of these features for other users to explore...
Lets get this started
List:
Reserved........
I know it's documented, but it was still a surprise to me - you can now finally delete apps straight from the app drawer, by dragging them just as if you were going to place them on the desktop, but then putting them in the recycle bin on the top.
No affiliation with apple. Or siri.
Sent from my samsung gt i9250 which is in the wrong country.
Nobody's talking about the search app. It's way better than the one in Gingerbread. Much easier to find stuff in your phone : music, app, sms, docs, etc. The old one was returning web search suggestion in 90% of the result... useless.
Search in browser let's you edit suggestion if you want to add something to it. But we lost popular web site suggestion
Just read it on Pocketnow but you can make folders in the favourites bar. Apologies if obvious.
When in the stock browser and you change orientation, tap the screen to make it rotate.

which runs TouchWiz, so it's not stock Android
Rotate the phone to the right whilst in any stock app (so the speaker grill and front camera are on the right). Notice that the back, home and task switch buttons have moved to the top of the screen so that they stay on the right.
When using an ics app hold down on an icon in the action bar to get a description of what it does

Not heavily advertised, but it should be:
The quick control in the browser. Almost the same as on honeycomb. Activate it in the labs settings of the browser. Love it!

NICE find! Thanks!
This is known about, however you said undocumented and I haven't a single document for the Nexus/ICS apart from on one which came with the phone, telling me how to fix the battery.
Hold the volume down and power key, and you take a screen capture. Which is very handy on occasions
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
If you tap the volume button which makes the volume bar appear, you can then press the icon to the left of the volume bar and it toggles between ring and vibrate.

In settings/about phone. Tap repeatedly on the android version number (4.0...) then a little android appears. Keep ur finger on it and it grows into a screen animation.
If u didn't know about this,I guess u r now thinking this is a joke. Or is it?
Need someone to test; try swiping the web pages up/down using 2 fingers
, is it a feature or a glitch?

I got some questions :
There's a chance like in Iphone while you browsing if u click top of the screen you go directly to top of the screen ?
Which launcher do you use it ?
With Iphone if I receive a sms and phone is on the table, I see that the display turns On and show the sms. Here I hear the sound but nothing happen, and remains black the screen, can I change it ?
thanks
If you install handcent sms you can have iphone like chat bubbles and the option to have screen on and sms popup

Too many issues with apex or go launcher.
Nova has served me well.
another tip that can save me
With Iphone, if you visit a huge website like blogs, and u are very deep in it, then if you wanna get on the top of the page, you just touch top screen of browser et-voilĂ you get insta moved to the top.
Here I miss it
any chance or im blind and i dont see it ?

I don't think that exists, but if you use Opera/Opera Mini/Opera Mini Next, they have it to where if you scroll up fast enough you get an option to just click a button to head straight to the top.
... at least I think that was Opera.
ah damn thats so bad, it so wonderfull tool.
theres a way to get into google with 1 click maybe ?
On ICS Browser + you can tap the website icon to jump to the top of the page. Here's the market link.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beansoft.browserplus
For Google you can just tap the search bar on your home screen. It can search Google and your phone for apps and contacts also.

Usually if you just try to scroll really fast it will go very far all the way to the top.

Hi xda,
I have a galaxy nexus on paranoid android 3.99 and there is a issue with the pie controls. Whenever I'm currently inside a application, I press to close all my recent apps and I do. When I close the apps, the phone goes back to the home screen. When I press the recent apps button at the home screen the last app i was in, it shows up as it was not closed but after about half a second, the phone changes screens and says no recent apps. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

After installing Kit Kat, when pressing the home button while on the home screen if not on the default home screen it no longer goes to the default home screen. It just doesn't do anything. Does this happen to anyone else?

Where did you download your copy?
I got mine from the mega mirror, I'm wondering if that could be the issue as no one else seems to be reporting experiencing the same issue as us
Same on my device, but it is no problem for me actually. I have downloaded mine from the Google Drive mirror

I downloaded from mega earlier today. I installed Kitkat and am having the same Issue with the home button. I have to use the little home icon to get to the default home screen. I did a full wipe before installing with Odin. If some people are not having this issue, I wonder what's causing it for the rest of us. Otherwise, I'm liking it.

I have the home button issue too, but the little home softkey works fine....I just have to remember it's there.
It's a TouchWiz issue BTW. I'm using nova launcher and there is no issue with the home button at all. Works just as expected.
Same issue here. Mine was from the Google drive mirror. Not too troublesome for me though. I'll be refreshing when a north American version pops up anyway.

Ah, that's cool. I've just been using TouchWiz since I did all my playing around with it yesterday, and haven't actually used Nova yet (which is my go-to launcher on everything). I'm trying to be good and check out the Samsung stuff for a change. The little home soft-key doesn't really bother me though....it's not like I have to reach much farther. LOL

Is there somewhere else I need to check to rotate the home screen? Apps and phone manager rotate fine.
You need a 3rd party app to make that happen, normally you swipe down to bring the notification screen, then tap and hold the gear until it spins and then it goes off the right side of the screen, at this point it would normally go to setting and then see the system ui tuner in the menu, but Huawei has removed this and you have to download "Activity Launcher", but I dont think this works anymore as it stopped working on my HN8 after it updated to 8.0. But those are the two ways to make it work.

Thanks AngleDeath, I had it with stock L on my M10P, hopefully they will bring it to this to the big screen. I stay in landscape 90% of the time. Hate flipping back and forth.

@cccmachin Try the attached file, unzip and install, it can change the orientation of the screen. Been using it for years, plain and simple, nothing fancy.
install Screen Orientation from app store and you can manual/auto change to any direction that you want on any app

Confirmed it doesnt, but the update version in the play store does:\

But it does not lay out correctly.
