Hello.
My All Contacts screen looks like this
Names are in black and unreadable and there's no apparent way to edit fonts anywhere. Is this normal? Is there a solution? My phone and software versions are also attached.
Thank you

Why are you posting this in the paranoid android forum? You are running cyanogenmod.

I can't believe there is no way to do this.

You can modify the phone or contacts apk but itll pretty much be changing the default contact picture. Which would make every one in your contacts who doesnt have a picture the default one you will have changed.

Any new updates to this? Or do you have to still edit core root files?

Hi, I run the latest built (9/26) on my phone.
I'm only getting small MMS pictures when sending/receiving text messages with no way to zoom in. If I save the picture to the SD card and open it with Gallery or a similar app I can see the full sized picture and zoom in and out.
I tried using Handcent, Go SMS Pro and Chomp SMS and set the settings in the apps accordingly to have a full size MMS picture. What am I overlooking here? I can't figure it out.
It seems like the usual MMS behavior...

Does that mean that it is supposed to be like that? I know in older builds (I'm using this ROM for about a month now) I didn't have this problem.
How was it like? I've never seen this :/

They were always mini for me unless I tap on the picture to open it in gallary

Isn't it Q&A ?

In the conversation nothing changed, but when I tapped on the picture in the conversation I used to get a full screen picture. Now I only get a really tiny thumbnail.
Just wanted to answer my own question, in case someone else has the same issue.
To update this ROM I mostly used OTA updates for simplicity. Over time I had a few issues piling up. So I decided to do a clean install via CWM etc. And now everything is back to normal again. Hope that helps someone.
I know this might sound trivial but this is the only ROM I've seen with customized messaging app that includes pop up, my question is how come no one includes a way in the ROM or app to set individual contact notifications without downloading another app

First of all, I have no idea what rom your talking about. I'm assuming ANYTHING based on CM10 or AOKP code.
Second, stock android has never had custom notifications for individual contacts. And to do this someone would actually have to code it! Maybe they'll get around to it, maybe they won't. Maybe it never crossed their minds because they don't use such a thing, or maybe because there's apps for that! but for native support, it has to be something a dev actually wants to have.
Not trying to be a douche either, just informing :highfive:
Sorry codename android 3.6.0 but yeah I find it really handy to know who is texting you without picking up the phone

I am also running CNA 3.6.0 but I do not know where the option to set custom notification tone for individual contact. Can you help me please?
Honestly no where, to achieve this you need to go to messaging settings turn off notifications, go to play store download sms popup and enable it and then find contact notifications.

MIUI also includes sms popups in the stock app
Yes but those pop UPS don't support individual notifications as far as I know

Seeing if anyone is interested in messing with the stock mms app. Looking to have the option to make it so screen doesn't turn on when you receive a message. Also looking to have the screen that lists the messages be black with white writing. Thanks!

I'd also love to know the answer to the first question. I've tried multiple settings and I just can't seem to make it work.
The second question you should be able to under the messaging app settings.

I know you said stock messaging but I'm sure that handcent has that option to not turn on the screen

I don't like third party mms. Settings only allows background changes for when you're in the messaging screen.

Hi all, I'm new here so apologies if I have posted in the incorrect forum.
I'm currently running Cyanogemod 10.1.3 and was wondering if anyone had stumbled upon, or can compile a MMS.apk hiding the contact pics in the conversation list view and also have a limit of outgoing MMSs to 1MB.
I'm currently using a modded MMS.apk that has the MMS limit set to 990kb, which sends a viewable image, instead of the shocking pixelated ones I'm sure we're all used to. A point in the right direction or any information would be really much appreciated.
Thank you and peace. ✌

I have found exactly what I was looking for. For anyone interested here's the xda link. Current version is 4.3 and it's working flawlessly.
