Is multirom possible on our phone? - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I just saw that the DNA just got support for multirom. I'm just wondering if it's possible on our phone? I would love to have the possibility to switch between a sense rom and an aosp rom!

It can be with some kernel modification and a recovery to go with it.

Kernel question

K so I got a quick question. I installed baconbits a while ago, I have cyanogen rc3 installed and I plan to update to final.
My question is I want to replace my kernel with flippy's new one. Do I need to do anything to remove the old kernel or..?

Any kernel you flash will overwrite the old one just make sure the kernel is compatable with whatever rom you are useing. Make a backup if your unsure or care about your data.

Just a note: don't try to install baconbits on top of Cyanogenmod. Its highly unstable. baconbits was designed as a sort of preview kernal to be installed on stock roms, and the actual Cyanogenmod already has all of the features in baconbits.

Can I use a custom kernel on the stock HTC Rom?

I really like being rooted and I used cyanogenmod 7 release candidate for at least a week and I missed stock so I flashed it back. I really don't know much about kernels, so I was wondering if a custom kernel would work on the stock Rom and change much of it?
Yes. You need a Sense based kernel.

I would recommend Lou's #8 or Chads, both run great on stock roms.
This one is nice and stable

[Q] ROM development/Kitchen?

OK I'm getting pretty interested in cooking my own ROMs. I've seen several tutorials/How To's on XDA.
What I wanna know is which one should someone just getting into ROM cooking for the G Pro use?
I personally prefer custom Stock based ROMs over CM. Does that make a difference?
Is it easier to build CM or Stock based?
Any help\ suggestions would be greatly appreciated ..

Hello im also interested in cooking roms. I prefer the stock rom. What i really like is a g flex rom like on the g2

I'm no dev but I'd say stock ROMs are harder to make. I don't think anyone can just compile a homemade version of LG's ROMs without proprietary software. It's done by lots and lots of smali modifications. As for AOSP, there was a post on the XDA portal about Builduntu which is a stripped down version of Ubuntu with everything you need to make a ROM. All you need are the sources.

Opinion

I have been on here searching roms I have experimented with twrp cwm and philz recoveries and have to say philz seems to be the best for our devices
Now I'm ready to flash a customer rom and kernel I have researched and with all the possibilities out there I would like to know which rom and kernel work the smoothest I'm looking for a 4.4 rom and kernel in you guys opinions which one works the smoothest and is compatible with philz recovery

Try any of sleshepic roms with either the devil kernel, or Plasma kernel.. I personally us Classic 3.0 TW with devils kernel and so far running real smooth.. It is one of the most stable TW roms for this phone..
Stock-wise @sleshepic is my go-to guy (disclosure: I am a bit biased though because of our past work to get said kernels to build properly.)
Alternatively..
If you have access to Linux you could try taking the repo from my Github and start making your own tweaked kernel.
Just look for the Community kernel thread as that's where we usually keep links and instructions up on building.
@garwynn I will look into that I'm still new to this I tried to develop a kernel for the HTC one sv but that was more advanced for what I was ready for it was a ported gsm to cdma rom kernel

Any Ongoing Custom Rom/Recovery work?

Hey everyone!
I am following this phone's page in XDA for nore than a month to see if I can flash a nice recovery like Twrp or a custom rom line Lineage OS, but it looks like we are stucked with the stock android version.
So, is there any developer who is trying to build a custom rom to make it usable for our devices? Or are there developers who are trying to make twrp (which is posted in a thread) availible and stable for everyone?
If there are people who are working on this devices, I am ready to become a beta tester for your works. I really can't stand without rooting my phone with a custom rom and twrp. Thanks.
