Changed TA part. after OTA - Sony Xperia M

Hi guys!
I got a C1904 earlier this month and one of the first things I did is root it and backup the TA partition. I dont remember the exact software version though I think it might have been some 15.1.A.XX. So after a 90MB OTA update to latest 15.1.C.2.8, I take a TA backup again. This time I get a different TA..img (different checksums). I wanted to know if this is normal. Also note that I didn't do anything root/bootloader related on the phone (except maybe install Titanium Backup and get rid of some bloat).
Learned advice is greatly appreciated.

Ta partition differers from each FW

So I just backup the latest TA partition and I am good to go right?
Thanks,
Whyzee

Yup and ya ways do a fresh TA Partition backup after every firmware update. That shirtens the chances 0f having problem in relocking bootloader.
One more thing.
Every time a file us rebuilt it will have a different checksum.
So do not be concerned about that.

Ta backup

My last post may have been a little long winded, so I'll keep this one short. Has anyone here successfully used the ta backup and restore function in flashtool? And is it similar to a nandroid? I've searched everywhere for info on this, but it's a fairly new feature.
Thanks
What about an adB restore. Does that work like a nandroid?

My bootloader is not unlockable. Hopefully it will be soon.
Edit: Reading the cwm thread, doesn't say anything about needing an unlocked bootloader. However there are a ton of people saying it is not very stable. In the mean time I'd like to modify the remove bloatware script on here in case i need to restore from ftf.

Right ... rooting and flashing cwm does not require unlocked boot loader.

Yes, flashing with a full wipe will return it to factory, CWM, initd and root will be gone.

Hi Sniper.
Actually if you flash any, Relock File For Your Xperia With TA partition ticked while flashing.
It will get you DRM keys back.
I have tested it myself on my Xperia.
And Everything is working for me.
You can try as well.
I hope this information seems helpful to you,

Hello @THE $niper,
First off all,

If Its still hard for you to understand I'd try to make it more simple for you.
I hope this information helps you in some way, basically its just backing up the TA partition.

i thought the drm keys are linked to the specific handset, so i don't think that relocking and flashing a generic ftf will get your drm keys back?
::EDIT::
having said this, i'm sure i read somewhere recently that the JB firmware's don't need drm keys for things like music info/BE/track id etc to work? I honestly can;t rememebr which thread i was reading this in though, sorry :\

First of All Since You have Unlocked Your Bootloader Already I dont think you can recover your DRM keys from TA partition
What you can do now?
1. FLash Stock (Exclude TA prtition)
2. Flash Relock (Include TA partition)
3. Update JB via PCC or SUS
4. Your phone will have working BE, XLoud, Track id and all Sony Enhancements.

Some questions Before Unlocking Boot loader

1. I dont need warranty, but if i did something wrong, can i recover it by flashing?
2. What are DRM Keys? I know it is a need for relocking BL, but why i need to lock a BL, does it has any super power than a Unlocked BL? (Ok, ignore the 'warranty' here).
I am new to android, previously and still i'm using SE Cedar and do some modding in that phone. Honestly, i dont used any warranty before in any of my previous phones.
I'm not able to post in tutorial section and so i'm posting here.

I hadn't realized the bravia engine would go away as well... I've rooted... and basically done what I really needed to do thus far to it... I'm just exploring the other options... assuming my wife wants to use it as her daily phone, I won't be messing with it much after the initial setup anyway.
i root my xperia with KINGO ROOT, simple and fast
plug your device, enable usb debugging and click root.. works fine in .2.67!!

Downgrade firmware?

Hello. I just moved to Z5 premium from N7100. It came with the latest firmware(.224). I read the thread about rooting Z5 premium and I saw something about "DRM keys". They said that the tool used to backup DRM keys called iovyroot is not working on the latest firmware. So, is there any ways to downgrade or should I just wait for the developer to update the tool?
