[Q] Flashing Firmware from B119 to B120 - Huawei Ascend P6, Mate

Hey everyone
I have a P6-U06 which is locked to my carrier (Vodacom) and I want to flash CM10.1 to my phone but I need to be on B118 or B120. So the problem I am having is when I try flash the Firmware I get a Signature Verification Failed and I can not get pass it.
Does anyone know how to get this otherwise I am stuck with the stock ROM which is slow as a train going backwards.
Thanks for any help
Regards
Nicholas

Hi!
You can download from here B120 CN firmware !
Extract UPDATE.APP and put on your external sdcard in /dload folder ( if you have not dload folder on your external sdcard, you can create one ), now you must be able to see on your device : /mnt/ext_sdcard/dload/UPDATE.APP
Flash this firmware in stock Huawei recovery ! If you get a Signature Verification Failed , please check if your device has unlocked bootloader : ( for this you must have already installed on your PC HiSuite drivers )
> adb reboot bootloader
> fastboot oem get-bootinfo
...
(bootloader) unlocked
OKAY [ 0.994s]
finished. total time: 0.994s
( you can see this if your device has unlocked bootloader )
> fastboot reboot
( to reboot your device from bootloader mode ! )
If your device has locked bootloader , cause Vodacom may lock your device bootloader, you can still install CM10.1 from here !
Good luck !

You can use fastboot only if your device has already installed Firmware B118 ( CN )!

I have the version with build number P6-U06V100R001C00B119SP01
I think I'm now in the B119 SP01.
It has to be specifically the B118 CN?, Or as this is higher, does the fastboot works?

Guide to unlock Huawei Ascend Mate bootloader

Guide to unlock Huawei Ascend Mate bootloader
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.EVERYTHING WRITTEN IN THIS DOCUMENT WAS TESTED ON MY PHONE.
After playing with my Mate I found a way to unlock the locked bootloader. If your bootloader is unlocked you can flash custom kernel , recovery to your phone.
The files used to unlock the bootloader is from P6 KitKat firmware. These two files are for efi and fastboot partition. Flashing only these partitions can avoid problems with mismatching modem firmware. The process was tested on official B221 firmware , but should work with any firmware. Reflashing a stock firmware(as I know there are only firmwares for Mate only with locked bootloader) with dload will relock the bootloader.
Unlocking process need proper adb and fastboot drivers installed. I use this driver :Huawei handset drivers for windows
Guide in pdf format
If your adb and fastboot drivers are correct you can start unlocking the bootloader.
If you want to unlock the bootloader and install Twrp recovery use this package :Bootloader unlock with TWRP install
Bootloader unlock with TWRP install mirror
This way powering on your phone with volume up button hold TWRP recovery comes up instead of stock 3e recovery. If you want to use the dload method to install a stock rom you have to restore the stock recovery.
Stock B221 fastboot flashable recovery
Stock B221 fastboot flashable recovery mirror
The other package just unlocks the bootloader .Bootloader unlock.
Bootloader unlock mirror.
Turn on USB debugging on your phone (settings->developer settings)
Start the package.
File extraction starts.
Command prompt window should appear.
Your phone restarts in bootloader mode.
Efi partition is flashed.
Fastboot partition is flashed.
Your phone restarts in bootloader mode.
Your bootloader state is displayed. (should say bootloader unlocked)
Your phone restart in normal mode.
This is what the packages do :
.\adb wait-for-device
.\adb reboot bootloader
.\fastboot flash efi efi.img
.\fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img
.\fastboot reboot-bootloader
timeout 2
.\fastboot oem get-bootinfo
timeout 10
If it says your bootloader is still locked you can try the following:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
If you want to restore stock rom and recovery here are the packages.
Recovery restore package for B221
Recovery restore package for B907
These packages restores the original efi and fastboot partition and then restores the stock recovery. These packages do the opposite as the unlock bootloader , however my phone stayed unlocked. Also this package solves the problem when the stock recovery stuck at the begining when trying to flash a stock rom using dload method.
WARNING:If you plan to flash a rom not made for Mate , always check that it does not overwrite other partitions then boot, system, data, cust. If the install package reflash the modem do not install it as it can hard brick your device.
For updated versions of permanent TWRP recovery check my thread here
Thanks to surdu_petru for the initial device tree to compile twrp.

One more thing i installed Fly UI OS from p6 and replaced with stock HAM boot.img....OS is not booting properly getting lots of FC's...
Does CM10.1 require different kernel or do we need to change any setting?

CM 10.1 may need some change in kernel or/and its config. Init.rc files needs modifications (framework , init.d support) , and it can happen that the init binary need some mods in cm source for proper working. For example wifi firmware path as on g510 . The standard cm init uses 2 firmware path , while the g510 init uses 4 to properly load wifi firmware files. You can check it on my github.
I am planning to compile a cm rom for our device , but the bootloader was the first step.
Awesome news mate ...
Finally someone can make goodies on HAM !
You can take a look also on my CM11 development project for P6, maybe you will make one for HAM !
Good luck !

Now this is a great Birthday present for me..
HAM Finally can be UNLOCKED.
i havent try yet but just wanna ask few questions.
1. Since now i'm using Hyd52Rom from Husen, can HAM be Unlocked with this Rom running?
2. Whats the best choice of current rom running for Unlocking?
maybe its sound stupid but its me (non-devs brain and only a user who dare to test..)...
Thanks guys.
You can unlock your phone using any rom. The only thing is needed turned on usb debugging. Of course the drivers on your pc should be installed .
After unlock check my other thread and update your permanent twrp to 2.6.3.2.

It should work on P6 too , but for P6 there are stock roms with unlocked bootloader.(KK beta).
If you want to use it on your P6 , use unlock bootloader only , and flash permanent twrp made for P6.
Of course permanent twrp for Mate will work on P6 as well , but the device identifier will be hwmt1_u06 and not hwp6_u06 which can cause assert errors when you try to flash a recovery flashable P6 rom .
I know. But i search for a way to use this on B125 international. In the CN it is to easy

Hi,
I can't flash [ROM][JB4.2.2][HAM][ HYD52ROM V5] [Superfast,Stable][V5 7-02-14]
from TWRP 2.6.3.2 . Everythings go right but on reboot the device never end logo.
I need to relock bottloader and start again whit dload. I have tryed flashing same zip from tmp recovery on locked and everything is working. i will to know if is a rom problem or twrp or unlocked bootloader. Also i have try buckup from HYD52ROM V5 whit twpr 2.6.3.2 and restore rom, after a factory reset, but was a id mismatching and no user app.
I will try to unlock and no permanent twpr, but use a cwm tmp whats happen. i will report
Edit: whit unlocked bootloader and tmp twrp
2.6.3.0 from sordu_petru recovery flash of same zip ad no problem.

OK I am now able to boot in bootloader after much testing I will try it.
I also had the vetlist problem downgrading from b014 to b125. But bootloader still worked. The only thing that worked for me was installing stock recovery jb via bootloader, afterwards a clean install of b014 again via stock recovery. And than I could install b125, also via stock recovery.
In short words:
1. Install stock recovery jb
2. Put (in your case) b506 to sdcard/dload folder
3. Reboot to stock recovery with automatic new installation of b506
4. Put b125 to sdcard/dload
5. Reboot to stock recovery with automatic installation of b125 withoutthe verlist fail.
This is the only way that worked for me from b014 to b125.

Install this Original_Recovery
You have to go back to stock recovery mode, do this using adb.
Then install KK Beta and then B125

Look.
1-Firstly With the phone download this:
http://dl.vmall.com/c01l4l4a2y# when you are here press the blue booton and the download are in coursing.
2-then, when the download is finished, you go to download folder and extract the .zip archive, and then put the dload o your external sd!
3-after that, you have to turn off the mobile. and the method of the 3 buttons (vol - and vol + power) the recovery will be updated!
4 - after the end of the flashing restarted again, with that before we get We traveled for updated repair fail.
5-'ll be back on the B506, now just stick a stock with dload on the external card and the 3 buttons you flash the stock rom that you have chosen with JB! regards :good:
Thanks ,,,,, it works :good:

Thanks I know it's no fake. The question is how to update to official kitkat if there is no "local update" option. Also I'm not sure where to find a stock recovery to force update.app file.
Recently I've successfully installed JB 4.2.2 and it seems good http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2570602. I can live with it,
but how to get official kitkat on my device?

Root your phone, download b.513 rom repacked by oxalis and flashed true twrp.

When you want to use stock recovery than go to TWRP 2.6.3.3 for jelly bean and there should be an stock recovery for B118 this you can flash. After that you can flash the update.app for B132 and from there you can flash B512 which is the newest international firmware, if you want Chinese firmware you can update to B508.
thanks guys I will try both ways and will report

That's weird. I've flashed B118 stock recovery, full wiped and forced update.app but failed, I've tried B125 and B132. Update.app has been placed in my sd memory card /dload/. For now I'm on JB custom rom with stock recovery.
Maybe because I'm on custom rom based on B120, I have no idea
SOLVED
To any one having same problem as me. Flash B118 Stock Recovery (via bootloader and fastboot commands) Download P6 Unicom EMUI2.0 from here http://dl.vmall.com/c01l4l4a2y#, unpack and copy dload folder to your memory card and install from "locale update" or force update from recovery by pressing power+volume-volume when phone is off. Next, download B132 International and make update the same way as before (update.app in dload folder). Last step, download B512 official international kitkat and again unzip and use "local update". Just remember to delete old update.app in dload folder. If you experiencing any issues, just do factory reset for fresh install. As my phone is P6-U06, I don't know if it will works for others.
Just please notice: after B132 update I've had message "android process media has stopped" and had to factory reset before update to B512 KK.
so best Idea make a backup of all your important things before you do anything.
I hope it will help to somebody else.

Sorry to bump this, but, Osstis, how did you get your bootloader unlocked? Is it necessary to have it unlocked in order install another firmware via local update? Mine is locked, I checked. I'm running a Chinese firmware (B508) and Google Play Store force closes everytime I open it, I've tried almost everything I could find online to get it fixed but nothing works.
I want to install B512 on my P6, too. I understand that I need to install a B1xx firmware first, but I'm not sure if I need to unlock the bootloader to do it. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated. I rooted my phone through the one-click methods found online, those software say my phone is rooted but the app Root Checker Basic says its not, how can I be sure?. No custom recovery installed.
Thanks.
try to get your phone in bootloader mode via adb (adb reboot bootloader)..
there type "fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" (16*U)..
this worked for me (coming from intl b125 locked)..

Thanks, bluelBl, I'll give that a try then.
EDIT: Didn't work. Any ideas?
what did you to get to the bootloader?
by key (power and volume) or by adb?

adb.
Does that make any difference?
no..i dont think so..
but i think you missed to load the bootloader at first with the cmd "adb reboot bootloader"..
then "fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
this is what i did with the b125 when i got my phone..

Isn't "adb reboot bootloader" simply the command to boot into bootloader? That's the first command I entered. If hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to enter "fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU". Would I? I might be wrong

System update not showing

Hi !
I bought an asus zenfone 2 ZWE551ML - Z00ADA from china , and it cames with android 5.0 LRX21V.WW-ASUS_Z00A-2.19.40.18 firmware.
The problem is that , the device cames already rooted , and the system update it´s not showing in settings-> about . I also search for system update app , and i don´t have it in app drawer . I think my phone cannot be updated with OTA , right ?
I´m stuck here . I tried to search in this forum, but i didn´t found an answer .
Can anyone help me to solve this problem ?
thanks in advance
Yes, you cant update until you unroot, then you have to download update .97 and update via ota to .139

PS: I found the firmwares
I´ve downloaded the version .97 ww , and now i have to flash this ?
Type fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img (be very careful in writting this line). Hit Enter. Wait till it's done.
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and hit Enter. Wait till it's done.

I´ve also done that of my own risk, and the recovery did not detected the device . I tried to push the firmware but gives me " timeout ... " i don´t remember the rest . I have adb version 1.0.32, i think is the latest.
I have to do a reboot , to get back to the fastboot mode.
Although In the fastboot , my device is detected
The problem is related to the recovery ? Can i flash something in fastboot mode ? it´s a problem in abd ?
thanks in advance

probably problem with adb, use windroid to sideload and you must wait at least 1 hr to finish, its gonna take time or simply put the firmware in rood of interna memory and phone will detect it at next reboot

i´ve tried to copy the firmware to the root folder but i have " permission denied " . I only can copy to the sdcard folder .
I think it´s related to have now an unrooted device right ?
I will try with windroid later
thanks
I´m trying to use windroid , and when i click in " sideload zip " it says that i have to had twrp instaled . My recovery is the stock recovery , not twrp
Can i keep going forward ?

I followed these indications and no notification in my device . Tried also to reboot the phone , the same result.
go to stock recovery, it should detect it from there, if not go sideload it

What would be the next step?

I think I am having similar problem,.
I got a new phone and checked for updates. It updated to 2.20.40.97 version (~220Mb). Then I rooted it using "Method 3".
After this I again checked for update and it showed 2.20.40.160 was available (~221Mb). Downloaded it but it gave error when installing.
The phone is booting fine but now it shows no updates. I tried factory reset and also clear cache but no update is shown in System->Check Updates
Now I have tried to adb sideload the OTA updates after 2.20.40.97 and all are getting stuck up after some time. The updates are 160 and 105Mb long. I tried to sideload 2.20.40.97 itself which was just 35mb and that worked.
What should I do to resolve the problem?
You have root... You can't be rooted when doing an update over OTA...

Finally had to flash the recovery images as well as the complete ROM (2.20.40.160) through ADB and this worked. Phone now updated.
