From what I seen else where it's said that the hybrid mode was a hidden option in the original code. however this time around Google removed it apparently. Halo & Pie I am sure will make their way back soon enough I am sure.

Oh, hybrid mode is gone for good? I'm really not liking how big everything is on my phone :/
Hmm... is there a 4.3 that has hybrid and able to cherry pick most of the good 4.4 stuff? (ended up flashing Beta5 because 3.99 had been acting up a lot lately and actually had been stuck in boot last night).

This is actually a really big deal. The stock DPI has everything so big and is a waste of this high-res screen. I don't know how anyone is expected to use it in normal DPI after tweaking apps. The problem is that changing the entire system DPI causes problems in some apps with buttons too bunched up and all that.
Also, tabbed browsing by changing the browser (whether AOSP or chrome) to tablet mode makes productivity 100x better.
We NEED hybrid mode. Too bad a developer for my device (t999 d2tmo) stopped doing 4.3 for no reason.
Is there any stable ROM in existence that has a well-functioning hybrid mode for the d2tmo?
Is hybrid settings coming to this device or is it removed forever? Why the removal of the best thing that sets PA apart from everything else?

Obviously you don't read?
Nothing was 'removed'
4.0 is being rewritten from the ground up, and hybrid has not been recoded yet, and will be added when it is completed.
If you want d2tmo, you need to talk to the devs in your device forum to get them to port it.
I was referring to other posts in this thread indicating hybrid mode was gone for good. No need to flame; I'm just praising how critical it really is and I'm surprised other rom makes are okay with simple global DPI rather than complex hybrid which actually should be a standard feature. It's like a car company changing all the fine adjustments to the seat and steering wheel position/angle to just a single adjuster for "size" that moves all the variables at once. Clearly this car wouldn't comfortably fit anyone!
I believe the majority of people haven't experienced the productivity increase that is setting the browser (Whether aosp or chrome) to tablet/phablet mode to enabled visually tabbed browsing. I use my phone as a computer replacement at times for work and with today's mobile processing power, only the UI becomes the limitation to how fast you can handle information. After being exposed to an optimal hybrid mode setup, you really can't turn back without missing it.
I'm not too worried about the Hybrid settings but what about all the other modification settings? Is there none? No color control or any other kind of ROM settings? I'm not complaining, I just haven't used Paranoid in a loooooong time so I was just looking for some help

First and foremost, the script used to create this is from jt1134. My complete boredom wanted an updated MIUI build that will stay updated. This is my only android device worth a damn so I am just bored with it. Without his script I wouldn't have been able to do this. So many thanks to him.
Ported from the latest official fascinate rom and will stay updated. The theme in the picture is not default, it is only shown for theme working purposes.

Two more things I noticed, the trash can menu that up when deleting an icon doesn't stretch to the end of the screen, as well as the sound recorder app.

The lockscreen also is not centered in some themes, making it unable to unlock the screen. I had to reflash once.
Guys if you want to fix off centered Widgets you have to set dpi to 300

Find any combination you like, scale and project apps, widgets and system components!
To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

Go to Settings, System, Font size, set it to NORMAL
Check "Auto Hide" in Settings, System, Statusbar, to finally get Fullscreen
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

I must be missing something simple here, but when I fake out the density in my build.props (eg 250 to act as 9", 226 for 10", etc...) I see individual apps start drawing in tablet mode (eg dual pane in Gmail). However, the overall system UI never switches out of "phablet mode". Has anybody successfully gotten their n7 flo into full tablet ui a la the n10? (no top status bar, etc...)

The one observation I had was that even though I was setting dp/res to 800x1280 in Xposed, to my eyes the actual appearance looks more like it's doing the math against 1200x1920. It's not a big deal, just my impression when I was coming up w/ dpi numbers for various apps.

Maybe I worded it wrong?
To me this is phablet mode because that is what it has always been called. Many people still like tablet UI so I doubt devs will stop supporting it on larger screens such as the nexus 7 or anything without hard back and home buttons really imho. Hopefully someone will make a flashable mod for tablet UI soon. Or custom ROM yay such as cm10.1 or carbon ROM or the 10 or 12 others that include it.

I understand what you're trying to say. My point is that that "tablet mode" you speak of was deprecated with ICS. What you have on your Nexus 7 and the old Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10 IS the 'tablet UI' per Google. What you're talking about is a mod now.

Its a mod for sure. I suppose I see why you could make a case for calling it tablet UI but really since there is only 1 UI and not split its just the 4.3 UI plus that would get darn confusing to my bedrock brain cause its been called phablet mode on so many threads for so many of my tablets. I have been playing around with android a bit myself though Im just a noob but if someone doesn't work it out that is better than me I might dive in head first and probably blow up my garage in the process since I kinda love what I call tablet UI a lot. All in what you get used to probably.

Anybody else try the latest builds for the Xposed FW? I was going great but then chrome started crashing whenever I scrolled a page. Gmail did it occasionally, too - this happened whether or not I had customized those apps, or even bypassed the custom settings module completely. I restored to a nandroid from just before installing Xposed FW & all is well. Guess I'll stick to system-wide dpi changes for now; was just curious if anybody else had tried w/ success.
Okay i installed and reboot the tablet ui module but when i click on it it says it doesnt have a interface so how do i enable the tablet ui?
Sent From My Fresh Nexus 7(2013)
Um could be way wrong but changing DPI doesn't change into old school tablet mode. I think it goes by screen resolution and size and its might be tied to the launcher
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
OK, so I finally upgraded my Nexus 4 to PA 4 and overall it's cool. I don't like the new Pie controls, mostly because I cannot enter notifications and quick settings from there anymore and they are much less smooth, but no matter, I'll just use the normal immersive mode then.
But there is something strange with that. It works perfectly for almost all apps, but it doesn't for Go Launcher Ex and Go Locker. In these apps even though immersive mode is on, they reserve the space for the navbar, it just sits there idly until I slide up to bring the navbar up. When I choose Pie controls however that space is taken up by these apps. Now this obviously suggests that there is something wrong with these apps, but still the way Pie and not-Pie are realised changes something in the apps' reaction.
Could someone explain that to me, ideally in a way that will allow me to make these two apps take up the whole space?
(Even more awesome would be a way to enable immersive mode with Pie controls only for these two apps)
Thank you very much!
Probably go launcher. But if you press home button after invoking immersive mode it will ask to choose the launcher you want to use ,choose go launcher and you'll not get the space where the softkeys should be.

Thank you very much for your answer!
Yeah, I know there's something with Go Launcher (and Locker), I think they know that there are no hardware keys and reserve the space. They don't when using Pie however, why not is what I'm most interested in.
Also, even after resetting the settings pressing the home button after invoking immersive mode does not ask me for the default Launcher. I have changed default launcher and invoked immersive mode in all possible permutations and the result is the same. Could you tell me why you think that choosing the launcher should override the reserved idle space?
Thank you!

Thank you!

Don't set it as default ,let it give you the option to choose launcher. Think it regigs systemui.

IMHO, you'd be better using Nova or Apex.

Hmm, It doesn't make a difference for me. I reset all app settings, then invoked immersive mode. It asked me for default launcher, I selected Go Launcher and there is still the empty space. Strange that it works for you but not for me.
I know other launchers are cool as well but I am quite used to Go, and for the lockscreen I haven't found anything that matches Go Locker for what I need/want (multiple widgets on one screen, pretty shortcuts to phone and messages) - in fact I am still using an outdated version of Locker because the new default design stinks, so I suppose whatever is wrong with it will never be fixed for me.
Thank you so much for your patience! Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong so it works for you and not for me?
(btw, in between I updated to PA 4.42 ota, everything smooth as before beside that silly problem that does not really relate to PA)

Pick immersive mode first, then press home. Pick go launcher.
Dont't set it as default launcher. When given the option chose once.

I did as you told me, still the same result... bummer.
(I have tried with "once" as well as with "always" before, doesn't seem to make a difference.)
(Great, now I have TWO things to worry about: the previous question as to whether it works with Pie but not with "normal", then the question why what works for you doesn't work for me. I'm always trying to learn and keep hitting those dead ends...)
thank you very much anyway!
Still, even if it doesn't work for me, do you know why Go Launcher reacts differently to Pie-Immersive than to Standard-Immersive? That's really bugging me...

Indeed with specs similar to the S4 and M7 its sad that this device is underrated; just got mine recently and love it! Now we just need Paranoid which I'm sure will be worth the wait. :victory:

Does voice-mail with Google Voice or viber work without using speaker phone. Is GPS stable?
