i747m Hangs Up Call Right Away - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

When I call someone using my phone (Telus i747m), sometimes when I press call the phone changes to the "calling" screen and then hangs up immediately with a beep sound. I've never had this problem until I lost my IMEI because I flashed a wrong network. I manually injected the IMEI back. Ever since then, once in a while it does this. I have to restart my phone and then it's fine. Also, LTE does not work anymore on my phone. It shows LTE and it is on but the reception is 1 bar no matter where I am. Any input would be helpful.

Radio randomly goes off

Hi,
Wondering if anyone is experiencing this issue.
Got the uk version of galaxy nexus, GT-I9250 ordered from an online store from the us. Only within the first 24 hours I experienced a time where I suddenly lost my 3g.. the signal bar shows no service. Only way to get back is to reboot phone.
After it happened few times and doing some testing, it turns out the radio just shuts down. Going to settings, about then status shows radio off. Going to the secret menu that gets accessed by typing a nmber also says radio is off. There is a button to turn radio on.. but it does nothing.
Tried factory reset, .didn't install any apps. Still issue occurred. Also noticed at random time before the total radio sshutdown, I do lose 3g few a minute then comes back.
See my screen captures showing issue attached.
The preferred network type when the radio works is shown as GSM/CDMA auto. During issue its unknown as shown in capture. Changing from unknown to gsm/cdma auto after failure does nothing.
Of course ttried to turm 3g on/off.... airplane mode on/off.. nothing works except a reboot.
I am on Kk1 radio. I didn't try kk6 as i didn't want to touch the phone in anyway to void warranty. my buddy has same phone but doesn't experience iissue. Same phone, same carrier, same city.
Any thoughts?
Maybe exchange it for a new one? My only advice

Have you tried running logcat to see if there are any logs to suggest whats crashing your radio?
Mine done exactly the same as yours and I am with Orange UK who stated I have a faulty sim card and are sending one out in the post to me so hopefully if that resolves mine you can also ask for a replacement sim card as well.
P.S I found that speediest.net knocks wireless/radio off sometimes and also wireless on mine can totally freeze as well so hoping this will be fixed asap by google.
I have same issue - loosing signal completely just with no reason very often. Turn phone off/on - works fine. I have brand new sim card and phone from Handtec, Vodafone UK.
Ditto for me as well. Purchased from Expansys, second round. It will move between 3G and H then shut off. Happened once so far. I'm using a MicroSIM with an adapter, both worked fine and are new.
I'll be watching this very closely. Someone with a Google account can post this to bring it to their attention?
Happened a second time but came back on. Attached a screen shot.
It does happen where the signal is lost, then comes back. That could happen few times before it goes down and then never comes back up at all. I used a program called signal alert to tell me when. It happens. I found that during the day signal is fully lost a number of times but it comes backafter less than a minute. at some point its lost and doesn't come back and only reboot fixes.
Bmstrong, the capture u showed me shows you lost data, but it seems you still have voice. Look at the screen I posted, u can see no bars what so ever in my signal meter.
When the issue occurs, its random, so by the time I find out and i ran alogcat, I would have missed it. Alogcat only shows me few minutrs before. However, I kept looking at alogcat after the fact and there was nothing that i could see that explains this.
I did try another sim while the trouble is occurring and no use.
I have requested rma from where I bought it and just waiting for authorization. Will share my experience with it and the store after.
Thanks,
Bmstrong, go to settings and about, then status to see if it says radio off. If it doesn't then it either your really lost 3g..maybe coverage or a different issue. In my case radio says its off and never comes back.
sorry to post a little off topic. but how do you see the first screen in the OP's post?
I'm getting this issue too, does anyone have any more information or has resolved this?
When going into the phone info screen does pressing "turn on radio" work for anyone? I have to do a reboot before I get signal back.

HTC Desire keeps cutting out mid-call

My HTC Desire is unable to maintain a call for some reason, and in fact I am having a number of different call-related issues with it. Firstly, sometimes it will not call a number at all, it simply says it is connecting and then beeps and ends the call, before the call has connected. It will do this lots of times, then eventually it will call. This is not a signal issue as if I put my SIM card in a different phone, standing in the same place I have an excellent signal. The phone will also often cut off mid-call by beeping and just ending the call.
In addition to this, sometimes it makes a staticky 'pfffftttt' noise and cuts out mid-call. Again, my other phone works fine with my sim card in and has a full signal. I know it is not the handset itself as this is my third handset (due to other issues) so I wonder whether this must just be a common fault....
Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? (I would call Vodafone and ask for a new phone but calling is somewhat of an issue right now!!!)
I have my desire 1,5 year and the problem starts last week...help please.
Hey!
If you are using stock firmware, give your phone for repair. However, if you are on custom rom, try updating your radio or make a full wipe (This should help you).
Regards
Tried a different rom, different kernel, and instal the latest radio(32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23) didnt help... the phone hangs up during call...

[Q] Cellular radio "freezing" after 1.28 update

I have owned this phone only for three days now, coming from a DHD.
Today I installed the 1.28 update and since then my cellular signal has been all over the place. I normally get a solid 5bar HSDPA signal where I live and since the update I have had nothing but issues.
My Sim card seems to be rejected (I am baseing this around the fact that when the radio seems to cycle I get a message saying "preparing sim") but aso it seems to just lock up entirely. Earlier I thought I had a signal only to make a call and have it fail, I tried to cycle the power to the radio by putting the phone into airplane mode but this didnt work so had to do a hard reset which then allowed me to make a call, but the call froze after 5 minutes, again with a seemingly locked up radio.
Any one else got these issues, as my phone is effectively a small but expensive tablet at the moment!
I have that issue BEFORE the 1.28 update. The other day my wife rang me at work and whilst we were talking we were cut off but my phone still showed as connected with signal. I figured she maybe lost signal herself. I tried to ring her back both on her mobile and the land line and my phone would not ring out (as far as I was concerned) I tried to put Airplane mode on but it didn't work so I had to reset the phone.
I haven't had it since but the strange thing is even though the phone didn't give me any indication that it was ringing out my wife said that both her mobile and the land line rang.
It seems strange that I couldn't toggle the radio/airplane mode or hear anything but the phone did actually ring out. Maybe the issue effected the radio and speaker? That's something to test if yours does it again. Ring a phone nearby to see if that does actually ring?
Update from yesterday, I currently have a signal as I am typing this, if however I make a call it will connect and I can listen for a second then it drops with the signal dieing. Followed right away by coming back up.
A reboot seemed to fix it for the moment, but not sure how long for. Next step is a factory reset for me and see how I get on from then.
AFAIK, the radio isn't updated?
I have taken it back and swapped it for another one now. Just waiting for it to charge then I am going to do the FOTA update and then install everything. So far though so good and the three calls I have made/recieved worked perfectly.
Seems to have beena faulty handset *fingers crossed"

Signal and calls issues

Hi guys, I am currently on T-mo with a HOX completely stock no root nothing, recently calls have started dropping when I make or receive a call it will work for a while then just go dead but still connected then it will eventually drop the call, not sure if it is the caller at the other end terminating the call. Prior to this happening the phone completely lost signal, I tried rebooting several times, turning the airplane mode on and off, and replacing the sim card, nothing worked until I went into Hboot selected recovery upon which it came up with an error(Not Sure cant mount ??) rebooted and started working again, but I am still getting the calls dropping, I think it could be related to signal, although when I look I always seem to have a good signal.
Any Ideas?

[Q] Shutdown issue (but not the overnight one!)

Hi,
I've been reading the other shutdown issue with interest from the start but I think that my particular issue is different and I'd like to know whether anyone else has my exact problem.
I'm using the o2 UK 16GB version 10A/234 and this is the problem:
When I reboot the phone and it gets to the lockscreen, if the network status is "disabled" on the lockscreen and I swipe to open, the phone shutsdown and can't be started again until I remove the battery.
If I wait for a couple of seconds when the lockscreen comes up, there is a little lag but the phone works as normal.
I can replicate this issue over and over again, so it is not a random occurrence AND this is the second handset that I have had where this exact problem is present.
Does anyone else have this issue?

I'm facing the same issue. Is your device rooted?
At first every (re)boot without being connected via usb to a charger or a computer would result in a shutdown shortly after I enter my pin. After a day of usage I cannot reproduce it anymore, although it still happens from time to time, for example yesterday when I tried to send a text while having very bad to no reception. When it happens I also have to remove the battery or hook it up to a charger, otherwise the buttons/screen would not respond..
I'm thinking there is a (firmware) problem with the chipset since it always happens when my phone is trying/strugling to connect to the mobile network. I installed an app which constantly writes logs to my sd, hopefully that will give me more information about what's causing the problem..
Are you also having bad reception when the device shuts down? My previous device (iPhone 5s) had normal reception in my house, incl. a stable 3G connection, always 2-3 bars of 5. The LG G3 is constantly strugling with the connection to the network and often switches to "emergency calls only"..

This happens rooted non-rooted, stock (no added apps) and always whilst connecting to phone network. Are you on same variant as me and if you leave it for a moment before putting in your pin does it then work ok?. I'm trying to get o2 to change my handset for another model (m8) but they just want to fix my one.

Yes I'm on the same variant. Still running the 10A firmware.
Sometimes it works, but I will do some more test this evening after work and see if I can reproduce it every time and hopefully get some usable logging too.
I think this is fixed in the 10f firmware update that I installed yesterday. I haven't had a shutdown since :victory:
