I have the Samsung smart dock for my note 2 and I use it to mirror to my TV all the time. I just switched my note 2 to the gummy kit kat ROM (AOSP) and I love it and don't want to go back to TW, but the smart dock no longer mirrors to the TV. Anyone know how I can get it to mirror or do I need to go back to TW?
Its a downside of the non tw roms, they dont work with the smartdock. I got 1 aswell but i just bought a chromecast for all my streaming needs. Sorry...

i was wondering if this was possible to get on note 2? if so id be willing to donate for a port. my buddy at work has it on his nexus its running 4.2 of course but i think its slick. almost like a miui thing.

What are the best ROM's that support MHL?

I have bought this GPT 5 in 1 MHL connection kit but HDMI does not work

Well any TW rom would have MHL. Im not too sure about AOSP roms.

I just moved to a Samsung S3 and a Samsung Note 8 from the Asus world, and I'm missing the ability to use USB ethernet adapters. Apparently, Samsung removes the drivers from JB and future releases? Has anyone discovered a way to either flash the drivers back in, or do you know if any of the aftermarket roms for the Note 8 include this functionality?

I know what you are saying. I have an Asus tf 300 with a belkin ethernet adapter...didn't use it much though, never tried it on my note 2 smart dock..., hope it works. I think if it works on note 2.. it should work on note 8

Age old solution: root, compile the driver for your kernel, and load it.
Else: buy device with support baked in.
For me, Wi-Fi model on 4.1.2 does not support the dongle from the first gen ASUS Zenbook UX-31.
It looks like Samsung broke the support for the docking stations (e.g. EDD-D200WE) on the Note 8
The last version which seems to work is 4.1.2

I've been happy with stock until now, but have bought a new car with this feature and would like to use it but Asus doesn't seem to support it.
