Tried this on multiple KK roms and got the same bug. After playing a voicemail from the app, the ear speaker gets staticy on all calls afterwords and only a reboot clears it. This only happens after I play a VVM.
Results from Slimkat, Beanstalk and Hellkat with radio UVUEMJC, all clean flashes.
Have not tried a different radio because never had this issue on 4.3. Loudspeaker works fine with music, only inner speaker.
Can anybody confirm or offer any insight?

Mine does the same. I just went back to listening to my VM by calling in. I'm interested to see if there is some type of fix for this issue.

Yes! mine does the same thing! Very annoying. I finally uninstalled it begrudgingly... I use it quite frequently, but it was screwing up my calls!
Also on 4.4 Beanstalk
I don't use T-Mo's Voicemail at all. But then I understand the issue. OP uses Visual Voicemail. Is that the same case for you two ?
Please note Visual Voicemail is a Touchwiz app. So it will act wonky on AOSP. Try Killing it off of Recents bar after listening.
Actually, it's not a touchwiz app, it's a T-Mobile app. It works on a variety of devices (Samsung, HTC, LG, etc) and roms (touchwiz, sense, aosp/cm). It worked perfectly on either up to jellybean so it seems to be strictly a kit kat problem. Swiping it out of recents didn't work, only a reboot did. And I downloaded from play store instead of restoring a backup, same problem. Sucks cause I love visual voicemail :/

On S3 I saw it make calls to TWFramework-Res not to Framework. Tells me it needs some dependancy. It does not work as well on AOSP.

Worked fine for me on slimbean 4.3 but now on 4.4 it has the bugs described above, even on the galaxy s4

Did you try clearing cache & data for the app?
Kitkat reacts the exact same way when listening to voice mail on the Xfinity connect app. I use both the Tmobile and Xfinity app and usually have to reboot after using either. Same problem on Beanstalk and Carbon roms. Don't think it's just a T-Mobile issue.

Google Voice plays just fine. But then its Google.
Thanks for that info, good to know more apps are affected. Maybe it can be fixed eventually.

I noticed when installing a custom ROM I can no longer use the t-mobile app. Something gets changes on the phone that it can no longer detect. I notice a mention about changing the name of your device name in Prop Editor to get it to work. Can anyone point in the correct direction on how to do this and what the correct name is? Thank you so much
Here is the link talking about visual voicemail "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tmobile.vvm.application&reviewId=13394572091432524136"

Thanks I use GV also with groove ip. I'm on the 30 a month plan on tmobile so I hardly ever use my tmobile number but love the app for checking minutes and usage so I would really like to use it T-Mobile app only works on stock rom for me though not on any custom rom.
Maybe my S Voice has laryngitis, but she wont say anything, the answers just get posted up with no sound. Anyone run in to this?
Haha it did this to me too. I think that if you have your phone on silent it wont answer in voice. I think. check if that works?
Nope, not on silent. I did toggle it on/off just in case, but didnt work.
Can someone give S Voice a try to see if maybe its a network thing, please?
Mines not replying by voice either.. I'm on Jellybean AOSP TW.. I'll report back if it works at some point.
Im also getting more than usual Network Error's.
Yeah man, no voice and two network errors in a row. I don't know what's up but I do know that the voice didn't work for me sometimes. It's buggy like that.
same, no talking here but I dont use S voice any more. it's slow as hell. There's an app called "assistant" on google play and it's much better
same thing happening here
I dont really use it either, but I was farting around with it today and noticed she was mute. And my brain instantly goes to 'Why isnt this working, did I screw it up, and do I need to perform a recovery on it' mode.
Same here. Just got mine today was working for a few minutes now its got no voice. This sucks.

I might not understand how these apps work with the voice, but jb voice search is hit or miss when asking for baseball scores. Sometimes it speaks it, sometimes it doesn't, and there's not a pattern of when or why it speaks or remains silent.

You guys are right. Google now on cm10 has been working for me, though. Better than s voice was.
Although, I didn't really give it a fair test. I rooted and flashed within 15 minutes

Sofar the only thing that worked for me was to use Odin and restore the firmware back to UVALEM. Then S Voice gets her voice back. If I then update via Kies to UVALH2, her laryngitis returns.
I am bone stock. Never rooted and tried a factory reset and cleared the data via the apps manager. None of that helped.
Hmmmm....wonder if this is a cross platform problem or just us TMo users.
Stock rooted on latest OTA update, just checked and no voice.
Same here, on the no counter stock rooted rom and the chick aint talkin. I assume its a server glitch. Ill remain patient.

Nah I haven't got that problem.. I'm using the kalo rom, it's quite the same as the standard android (no skins or anything like that).. Maybe you should try that one?
And you're using the most recent version from the Play Store? Because I know I read Voice wasn't working with 4.2 but I think it has received it's compatibility update now.
No Problem.

Build number JWR66N breaks Netflix on all devices. Wait for the next OTA or install it yourself with one of the guides.
I'm still on JSS15J though... no updates yet.
I had a similar problem. I just cleared the app data, force quit, restarted the app, and logged back in. I'm on JSS15Q though. Not sure if that matters.

This does in fact matter. As far as I know, netflix is broken on JWR66N and will only work on the JSSXXX builds.
You can fix this issue manually here. You must have the ADB tools on your computer, and can get them from this thread. This is how I fixed mine. Just make sure you pay attention and know what you're doing.
EDIT: I recommend going to JSS15Q from whatever build you are on.

A reboot didn't do it for me. This only happened on my first run of Netflix on my new N7. Netflix was one of many apps that were automatically restored on sign-in, and I'm thinking it restored the data along with it. I don't recall being asked to sign in the first time I ran it, when it failed to work properly. After clearing the data and signing in, it worked fine for me. Either way, it works now.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I am having the same type of problem.... I have a rooted 2013 N7 on the latest firmware (JSS15J).
If I use the netflix from the play store I get stuck on the first red screen with the spinning logo and can never get past that point. I have tried uninstalling about 100 times, clearing app data, force closing app, rebooting, etc.... nothing works for me.
I had to go back and install an older version of netflix to at least get it working at all.
Is this happening to anyone else and if so please let us know the exact steps needed to work around this.
Thanks!

To be quite honest, stock android on this device is buggy as hell so far. I am a stock/rooted whenever possible kind of guy generally speaking(I always prefer it since you can get OTA's etc), but I was forced to switch to CyanogenMod 10.2 KANGS on this device, due to crazy bugs. They are now a thing of the past. From the smart-cover bug to the GPS bug to the Netflix BREAK, all of these problems are no problem for me. So go get PA or CM or something until Google/Asus gets their **** together! :good:
Same here. Stock non rooted. Can't get past the red screen.

If you go back to 2.4.0 build 939, the bluetooth audio problem goes away, here's a copy from my backup:

May need to install, and do a force stop / clear data before it connects. The Netflix Android app seems to have more bugs than functionality.

Well it has been a while since I have been here but figured I would give everyone a little preview. Also I need 5 testers who have sprint service and 4G LTE that can test for me since I am on cricket service. What I have is an AOSP based 4.4.2 MIUI!! Please send me a PM if you want to test. First five who reply will be able to test. I also have one extra spot for someone who has followed my MIUI work and I will shoot you a PM about this.
If you don't get enough testers PM me. I don't have 4g at home and won't be back to work until Tuesday to test those functions but I would be happy to help if needed.

Okay here is a new tester. I have included the aosp dialer (miui dialer does not want to work) along with a few other aosp apps. Also miui superuser does not work so you will have to flash supersu if you want root.
Known issues
miui dialer
miui themes
camcorder (settings need to be changed video encoder needs to be mpeg4) change settings before turning on recorder
everything else I have tested works gps, mms, calls, data (on cricket network not sure about sprint users still waiting on feedback)
Extras I have included
AOSP stuff
dialer
music
gallery
nova launcher
trebuchet
beanstalk explorer
terninal C-lock widget
Instructions
1. backup current rom
2. flash rom
3. flash gapps
4. flash supersu
5. boot and enjoy

I don't know if your upload or my download was corrupt on supersu but I had another one and that worked fine.
Install worked great. boot time was reasonable. I couldn't get your dialer to work so I grabbed one from the play store (first one in the list by modohut) worked fine at least for outgoing calls haven't tried calling in yet. I couldn't get sms to work at all so I installed hangouts and that works fine for me(not my preferred app but it works). No other issues so far but I am still testing. Thanks for the upload.

You have working 3g and 4g data?
When you installed you only had one dialer? The posted zip should have miui dialer (not working) and an aosp dialer. The stock SMS/MMS worked for me see pic below. FYI Google xda lg g3 keyboard. Works great on this ROM. Also try out WSM tools along with the mi-tools module. This is a mini version of xposed and works well also.

3G seems to be working I am getting 400k to 600k down, I don't have 4g in my area but I do at my work so I can test that on Tuesday.
There were 2 phone icons one in the dock which is green the other on the desktop which is blue they both force close on me. I used http://www.callmylostphone.com to test incoming calls and I am indeed able to call with the the one I downloaded. I have never used the one from the play store before I just wanted to see if a random one would work.
Not sure why sms didn't work it didn't give any errors but didn't send anything either.
I will try the new kernel and let you know how that goes.

Philz has an option to do a wipe for a rom install, I did that as well as wiping cache and dalvik. Is there anything else you would want me to try? I would be able to try reinstalling tomorrow morning (almost my bed time now). The kernel you PMed me boots and shows in about phone.
