LTE does work, confirmed. There are a few mistakes in build.prop that should be corrected for ION. I will post those later. Overall, very impressed with the rom. Much faster and lighter than anything I have tried...

Screenshots? What's working / not working? Any lags?

Here are some screenshots. The only lag I have so far is an about 0.5 second delay when you lock the phone with the hardware button and then unlock it. But when the phone is on a charger, there is no delay.
And by the way, I do have a locked bootloader.

There is one change that has to be made in build.prop:
debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=0
For Xperia S, the value is 3, but for ION, it must be 0 or else you will have screen flickering issues...
Also, the name of the phone is LT28h. If you want to change it to LT28i, you will get an install error, because the install script makes sure that the phone is LT28h. To fix that, you have to remove a few get prop lines at the beginning. Your updater-script in meta-inf/com/google/android should start with the following line:
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p15", "/system");
Just delete all lines above it.
Don't tell me you bricked your phone making changes in build.prop and meta-inf. Learn how to do it with a proper text editor and unzipping app.

Flashed according to instructions, stuck on Sony boot screen...
Im gonna start from the beginning, fresh rogers lt28h jb firmware, root, cwm, and try again..report soon.
Ok, so I got it to boot. When I try to flash cwm, superuser denies access to shell! Crap.
Tried installing SuperSU,, still no cwm.. what shame, very sweet rom so far. The camcorder records and plays back smooth on 1080, but it flickers. I havent tested much yet, LTE works fine..

I didn't have any issues. I mounted System/Cache/Data and formatted each. Interestingly, the first boot took about 20 seconds. This is my first experience with Cyanogen and I must say, it is much faster and lighter than stock...

So what about cwm? I cant get it to install.. I dont want to have to start all over, I want to test this out.
Nevermind, Found it, its in developer options/root access/Apps and ADB. Cwm installed! Awesome.

No HDMI???

This Rom uses the stock kernel correct?
so cant we use the stock libs and settings to get HDMI working in this rom? PLEASE! :good:

HDMI doesn't work? Yikes.
Even though I got cwm installed. Using reboot to recovery in power menu just reboots, and in recovery the ext SD card is not Mount able.

You have the other recovery baked in the ROM. Why CWM?

It wouldn't go to recovery, so I assumed it was not baked in. I then flashed cwm. I thought it was the only recovery for locked bootloader. Are you telling me there already was recovery?
I found a fix for the flickering, these need to be tweaked/added to the build prop. It worked for me...
debug.egl.hw=1
debug.composition.type=gpu
debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=0
dev.pm.gpu_samplingrate=1

Yes. When you turn on the phone, the led lights blue. If you don't press power or volume button, then it goes to boot. If you do, you get to Recovery. That recovery won't see your CWM files, but you can back up and restore this rom and on.
I posted the mdpcomp fix a few posts earlier and since I made the changes to build.prop before flashing the first time, I don't have any flickering.
Edit: you have TWRP recovery which is touch based and you have access to SD0 and SD1.
If you install CWM, that will interfere with TWRP and vice/versa...

Now, with regard to Chainfire SuperUser, when you install it (and you get a prompt for rights from the other SU) and it updates the binary, it should warn you that there is another superuser and offer you a chance to delete it, which you should do. After that, there should be no issues.
After using the rom for about 12 hours and a few deliberate reboots, I have 345 mb of ram with all my apps installed. On first screen I get 376, but then it goes down to 345 with all the apps. That is pretty good. The interface is faster than anything stock (including my rom). All my apps are also a lot faster. You just can't compete with a rom where anything bloat has been removed. And I am not talking only the apps, but also supporting framework and libfiles, which tend to do their dirty work even if the app itself is removed. Xposed framework works perfectly with Xprivacy, Greenify and Gravitybox. With Gravity, the only problem I have is that when I pick Kitkat battery icon, I get two: Cyanogen kitkat and Gravity. But that is minor.
I haven't noticed any bug and I am not surprised. Cyanogen guys produce stable roms even in nightly releases.
I think this is just the beginning. Pretty soon, we will have Paranoid Android and other roms available for locked bootloaders using the same method. I think we will end up having a custom kernel loaded (using hijacked script) and have 100% custom rom/kernel experience.

HDMI works great! Only bug so far is led notification just stays on instead of blinking, you can still change the color for calls, text, email etc...
This is without a doubt the fastest rom, it's like a new phone! Nothing seems to slow it down. Very impressive.

@Bugly Astard
I also have the ATT version with locked boot loader.
Agreed, this rom is fast and smooth. :good:
Will try the flickering tweaks as well. (seeing alot in some apps)
How did you get HDMI working?
I get no signal from the port at all, and nothing showing in phone settings for HDMI either.

Introduction
Here is my port of JB AOSP 4.3 for our Xperia S. This is a work in progress, it's currently missing few of the patches I used in 4.2.X and few things are completely untested.
Installation and downloads
You need unlocked bootloader and a working recovery.
Download installation zip from here, mirror thanks to @androidlover007 (I know, uploaded.net is not the fastest of the earth, multipload mirrors coming soon. I'm not against posting any other mirror).
Copy it to internal storage
Wipe Data/Cache
Install gapps for 4.3. Currently, we don't have "official" gapps from CM team, I used PA ones with good success.
Reboot and let the rom settle down a bit
Important: Current release has a recovery with broken offline charging, you should flash a fixed one after installing the rom to avoid any trouble. Check this post.
Kernel source code is here (branch jb-4.2-experimental).
Note: this rom flashes its own kernel that comes with TWRP recovery and last version of Boot Manager. Just use volume up/down to navigate boot manager menu and power to select if you want to go to TWRP. Don't play with Boot Manager options if you don't know what you're doing.

FAQ
Can I flash any kernel with it ?
No. This rom is using Nexus 4 proprietaries and requires matching video drivers. You must use embedded kernel.
Something is not working, crashed, whatever, how can I help ?
Please provide logs! Description is not enough, I need at least logcat and ideally dmesg. If phone reboots, go to recovery, get the /proc/last_kmsg file and provide it to me.
Dev options are missing ?
No, they're just hidden, it's now the default behavior in 4.2.x. To enable it, go to settings / about and tap multiple times on build number, menu will be enabled and stick after reboot.
* reserved, now you can go on *
Great And Fast Work.
Omg you are fast man

Is there need to report bugs or it is too early for such thing?
Anyhow, I'm downloading right now, will report back with observations.
Log:
- Booting seems fine, some glitches but nothing to worry about...
- Font is kinda different, I like it, very much. It is even more close to Helvetica and for me it is very nice typeface porn
- Touch vibration is kinda shorter, more direct but weaker.
- Developer tools are updated with very nice features, everything mentioned at Google I/O 2013.
- Animations are smoother. It's not that "new ROM" smoothness, transitions between screens appear like constant 60fps, without that lag that sometimes occurs regardless on hardware.
- There are some differences in first time configuration, nothing radical but still...
- Google Play Store wont open, close it and relaunch and then it will show TOS. It lags a bit.
- Is it me or DPI is kinda different? Everything seems to be bigger. Icons in drawer, Google play apps... SystemUI feels kinda same. EDIT: 320dpi.
- AOSP keyboard icon is different. RAM usage is same, no lower usage or anything special. Available RAM - 622 MB.
- Touch responsivness seems a bit better.
- Texdroider DPI (DPI changer) doesn't work. On 4.2.2 it would work with OpenSEMC, but it's not the case on 4.3.
SuperSU does not work (no su binaries), this ROM is unrooted. To root it again do the following:
Download SuperSU 1.51 from here
Move it to your root folder on your phone
Turn your phone off, boot it into recovery
flash that zip you copied to your root folder "SuperSU 1.51"
Reboot to system.

CWM/TWRP recoveries
For those, who don't know or don't remember, here are CWM/TWRP recovery images. Needs to be flashed only once to work.
Sometimes no audio when calling (works for a while after reboot). Also when calling, a blank screen appears from the phone activity making the transition ugly. Bootscreen is a bit large too
Nice rom , thx for your work.
Seems here come with great respond from other, and now i want try to move it too
AOSP I'm coming!!!
and this rom isn't big like other cm or fxp build, is only 212 mb.

problem on bootanimation that not fit on screen, on first boot is only black, and after a few second android logo is out.

some wifi icon connection state problem, this like icon connection state isn't fit on wifi icon
and for mobile connection data is always show 3g although my connection is HSDPA + when i check on sim information
that's first report from me
Just noticed a problem with location. While location is on and GPS seems to work it says "No apps have requested location". For some reason apps can't access gps. I suspect this and the previous issue with no audio in call might be caused by gapps. Can anyone point me to a tested package of gapps? I used the one by cm12.1

beware, the camera is an (partly) opensource development preview solution.
That is the "bad" news.
The good news is that we never had an opensource solution before this. Except a hacky closed source solution.
It can only get better from here

tested 255 earlier on amami a while ago as I read about this issue before. And that was no good. I couldn't see anything on my screen in daylight. Besides from that, I have no heating issues in twrp. I.e. I leave twrp asap always, as I hate to carry around a device in recovery mode all day. It drops too many functionalities for my phone I use it for, like mobile networking.
So, as I am in twrp for not more then 5 minutes I think it is impossible for it to overheat. And I think the auto dimming of the screen after a minute of inactivity also prevents overheating
can you be specific about layers, it can mean multiple things. And I remember you asking this somewhere else before
edit ph***, the brightness remark made me review my notes I have to retest that on amami, it maybe a case of a screwup with yukon M2 here. Anyway, good to bring this to attention

Just flashed and started Manual camera compatibility test app from playstore, and it showed that our device now supports all manual settings, even raw support.
Had it flashed, it felt awesomely smooth, fast s hell, booted in a few seconds... Camera was a said in op.. I just lost root and recovery so had to reflash kernel with recovery... Otherwise hell of a job with the ROM... thank you
what are the features included in this ROM?

I'm hot booting recovery at the moment. What kernel did you use . I don't want a 3.4 kernel again .
Rashr. Is pushing recovery to fota partition but ROM/kernel does not seem able to use it .
Another 3.10 kernel that doesn't seem to work with my device. I must mention that I have an aftermarket display. It would be great if the ROM had a recovery, so that I could post the last kmesg. @erikcas

I changed the kernel to get restore a backup... But I will definitely try again later. Agreed with the recovery, I tried optimumpro's fota recovery, but was not able to boot into it.

Can you upload a dmesg from stock?
As early as possible from boot.
If you have an aftermarket display that works on stock, the display has to be defined in the stock kernel to. I need to see how it is inited on stock rom. If it is I will find it and make it work (oops.. no guaranty offcourse, but will do my outmost)
edit: recovery will be up in 20 minutes in this post

the kernel has not compiled the recovery "incompiled". I use updated TA partition for opendevices which allows a permanent recovery to be flashed to a "real" recovery partition, which you can enter (after updating TA and flash recovery) by powerup device by <voldown> + <power> keys at the same time when device is turned off.
wow really good rom. Just a few things:
- green videos were even on 5.1? I thought that it was caused by 6.0. Never mind, can you use new adreno binaries in next build (maybe there are some for 5.1, but it's worth try https://github.com/alviteri/vendor-sony-blobs/commit/11f24412c2e3b4b5531f2fa061fc2a0576933d2a )? Now I'm trying to push them to my phone and I'll see if it fix that
- some graphics glitches were present after first boot but they're gone, so I don't mind it
- camera is "somehow" working, but as OP mentions it isn't usable and it making weird sound on camera init (I should better not use the camera, I don't want to break it )
- superb freq scaling - my phone heats I think even less then on tweaked stock
edit: Also I used nut's ramdisk recovery and it's working link: http://nut.xperia-files.com/?ql=89140980648c1ad31bad3aa52f38245a2ef3c5a7
edit2: okay, do not flash this, in recovery there is no screen, it just vibrates and I can't restart my phone even with red button. (I have to wait till it die )
OK, @erikcas thank you

THANK YOU!
I will post the dmesg as soon as possible.
As for the recovery, will it work in this ROM if I flash it to FOTA partition? I have a C6902 so there is no way I can get the updated bootloader for using an actual recovery partition
EDIT: dmesg attached. The adb shell command resulted in 0kb logs so I had to use Syslog, so that might have resulted in a few seconds of delay in capturing the log. Hope it helps!

Yes , you should install gapps, Root can be enabled in development settings.
Both Internal and external storage works !
Okay, this ROM is really good. Just a few things and it will be perfect:
- no built-in recovery (I know I should use new bootloader but I don't know if there's any way how can I "downgrade" it back if I want to)
- Mi Pistons headphones are still buggy - you have to press all buttons to get it recognized
- in YouTube app when you use you phone in landscape and minimize some video (browsing other videos when the previous one is still playing) you see some graphical artefacts in right upper corner. Above multitasking button.
- and of course camera but that's known bug
edit : there are more glitches - see screenshot in attachments
I try again to install rom and it is work. I don't know why first time not work. I install from philz recovery. I have some questions. If you port camera from other rom, it will work? Before I was install cm12.1 and view that on first and second boot camera was work, but after this it isn't work. This is similar problem. The problem may be in framework.jar.

There's actually boot to recovery implementation in kernel but it seems to be not working. Will have to investigate that later on.
The graphical glitches seems to be cyanogenmod bug (crDroid is based on cm).

Unfortunately the problem is not that simple.
Camera just doesn't work yet in marshmallow.
We'll have to wait for Sony to release camera for marshmallow or someone else to get it working.
I try to merge memory, but it not work. It is possible that I'm wrong thing.
New build released.

Unfortunately this would take some time. I just can't figure out yet what's wrong with the boot to recovery implementation.
For now , your best bet is updating TA with recovery mode and flash TWRP
or you can hotboot any kernel with recovery using "fastboot boot boot.img"
When phone is turn off and you plug charger, screen is light and then charger screen will restart and screen remaints lit. After 2 or 3 restarts the charger screen, phone will turn on and after this it will turn off (or not turn off someone) and situation will repeat.
Sorry for bad Englisch. I hope you understand me.

Hi,
I tried to update my ta, but there are only generic softwares (I flashed .368) and no ta update - in emma. Do you know what am I doing wrong? because it's really wierd to boot another kernel everytime I want to go to recovery.

yes, I wouldn't be able to run it if I didn't
edit: can I use the recovery you posted before like fota recovery? because fota recovery works, you only must have recovery built with 3.10 kernel otherwise you have no display.

Thank You, I'll do it asap
Hello, unfortunately i experienced bug after flashing aex, crDroid and after all them LOS in twrp. Previously I had downloaded stock, deleted all ta files create partition folder and then flashed stock firmware by newflasher (dedicated to my country). That was fine, also fastboot reboot bootloader and fastboot boot twrp was ok. I wiped indicated in instruction partitions/format them, and after booting to system. I was uneable to use it. I'll attach pictures. I could only one think. Use power button to see power options and navbar (in crproblem.jpg file you can see superimposed navbars... strange). (after i firstly saw problem i wiped them all and tried to reinstall ROM with same result new thing is not working LOS) Maybe I should choose other firmware from newflasher (maybe uniwersal, working in all country?). Now I'm forced to use stock, because of custom ROMs doesn't work.
While I was flashing stock, newflasher asked me "if I want to flash persist partition" I chose n
I really need help, (stock rom sucks and I don't want to use GApps because of privacy issues.)
if you have same problems on all custom roms than you do something wrong.
try flash stock rom and start your phone, make a first settings and other thing.

Thank you, I succefully installed taht wonderful ROM . I think it'd be good to mention in a main post that before you install zip yoru device must be fully configured (first configuration is enough, not needed to look in Google account) and have set pattern (it worked for me) without it did not work, you can see only black screen like in a previous post.
Maybe it took part, maybe not but after first configuration I copied twrp.img to SD card and booted twrp from fastboot "fastboot reboot bootloader" then "fastboot boot path_to_img_file/twrp.img" after boot I installed twrp by install ==> install ==> install image ==> twrp.img as a recovery only then I started with next steps
Thank you for supporting me with device problems and answering noob questions I'll test that ROM and give feedback if I have time.

Love, love, loving this ROM! The level of customization is awesome and it is such a beautiful display. I haven't been able to test every setting but I will continue to tinker with it. Thank you so much for the hard work!
P.S. - Sent you some juice money
One thing I noticed, I can no longer send mms without having mobile data on. I was always able to send mms without it on stock fw, cricket/att network but now it has to be on to send and receive pictures and other mms. Is there a setting I'm missing?
Thanks
First, big thanks for juice.
Today I will update rom, seems VoLTE has been fixed.
About your problem, don't know, mms is so old feature never used it. Check your apn or try reset your internet option.
Thread updated, see post #2
Still testing things but I used my phone for work today and really liked the responsiveness of this ROM. I use Google Maps a lot and there was always some lag on the stock fw but none that I could notice on the crDroid. This ROM boots quick and loads resources quick.
I flashed update after work and it seems more stable. I had one minor freeze on v1 and home screen would crash when I was trying to set it up but I also have nova launcher and that might have conflicted. V2 has had no crashes and after setting up the home screen, I just might ditch nova for a bit. Again, I love this ROM.
As far as the MMS goes, I can't find an option to download new internet settings like stock had. I reset apn but still can't send mms without data. It's not a deal breaker but now I'm super curious. Could it be related to the RIL? I honestly don't know, I'm just learning as I go but if that's the case is there anyway to restore the stock RIL? Like replacing the telephony-common.jar?
Thanks again for all your hard work
I'm interested to get the best sound on our device (I created another thread about that).
Here I just want to confirm that rom works with dolby digital plus from here, after freeze audiofx: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mm-p-dolby-digital-plus-arise-20181115-t3868192
Next is xperia keyboard, I flashed it successfully (but remember to mount system in twrp before install process). Note: After updating rom it is always disappears (it's mentioned in its thread)
Here is it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/sony-z3-keyboard-lollipop-update-t3056448
Hello,
I want to report that "long press home" doesn't work when swipe-up gestures are enabled
I tried to upload video where I tried to use it but xda app treats mp4 file as invalid.
VoLTE don't work for me.
ROM is very fast and very customized but sometimes WhatsApp and others apps don't show correctly the notifications.
How to install new fonts??
